Thread: How sportsbetting apps may shut down your bank accounts

  1. #1
I don't pretend to be a sportsbettor much, but I have been using the casino's app to get rewards and have been on a run. I noticed most of my recent banking activities are payouts from the sportsbook apps and deposits. So I've probably ran lucky 1,500 since 2/28/25 and I was thinking to stop having them put my deposits directly into my bank account and use paypal. I don't care much about PayPal, but they'll probably shut you down after some threshold is reached. Is that money laundering, I don't have a dictionary.

I may be out of the loop, but US-legal transactions should not trigger any hostility afaik. Recently I've only used the major banks, so I don't have personal experience with regionals or locals.

Offshore transactions could be a problem. For those situations, I use crypto almost always.
I don't need or really even want the $$$ (I have way, way more than enough and I don't hunger for material possessions)

I thought banks like to shut down accounts do to gambling activities.

Banks like to shut down illegal activities. Gambling is now legit, domestically.

Possibly a few dumb, overzealous banks are still in the mix, but searching around I didn't find much of anything.
