Have you ever talked to someone that works surveillance Red? You should. Occasionally someone that works surveillance will pop up on one of the shows or podcasts. Back in the day, Norm had a surveillance guy appear for a "chat" on his forum. It was one of the few times the chat room was packed. And for good reason.
Surveilling suspected card counters is FAR down on the list for surveillance guys. Much higher priorities are looking for criminal activity....cheating by both players and casino personnel. And then you have just the common criminal type stuff like pick pockets and distract-player-steal ticket type scams. Card counters very low on the totem pole. In most cases, surveillance has to be notified by pit to take a look at a player in seat 3, table 19. Player evaluations are initiated in the pit, not upstairs at most locations. That is why we keep one eye on pit folks.
