Thread: I can see how gamblers develop delusions when they're super lucky.

  1. #1
Is there some kind of way to tell if someone is an idiot savant when it comes to sports betting. I deposited $250 and am ahead $2200 after gambling bets totalling around $40,000. I've also used almost $50 of casino points during this time. Is this kind of a normal experience sports betting? I'm also a little confused about how much I've won because I've had so many deposits and withdrawals. I would need to make a very large bets all out at once for the site to tell me how much I've lost( until the bets get resolved). If I deposited $3,000, then bet up to $3000 all at once on various bets, the loss limit function would show me when I'm losing. I could actually lose the money doing so, so kind of not wanting to do that.

Today was weird because the steams on the tennis matches weren't working, and that's when I was killing it. After the streams came back working I started nose diving and lost a ton of money. One match the opposition must have withdrew because I was paid bets and had my losing bets declared no action. Crazy day I used the money on bills so I'm kind of risk averse and will not be betting $10,000 today.
I've bet a lot on tennis and sometimes Japanese baseball during all the night I barely know anything about any of these people or teams I bet on, and I also do that in the NBA and NHL, college basketball, vand everything else. I don't lik3 betting soccer or football. I seriously know nothing, but now I understand tennis.

    2 Teamer

    Capitals Puck Line
    Stars Puck Line

You can stretch it into a 3 Teamer with the Oilers Puck Line.
Wanna go for 4? Add in the Jets Puck Line.
Felling Froggy like a Canuck and want to push it to 5? Rangers Puck Line
Penguins kinda F'd me the other day and dey been on a Hot Streak.
    Time for dem to lose.
    Take the Islanders Money Line.

What I find confusing about tennis is the odds don't make sense oftentimes. You can get some really fine odds just because the loser is serving this game. When the favorite is dominant, can Win a few.

Might try it or some variation.

I don't think this is a terribly hard calculation. Just figure your mean and median wagers and go from there in drawing a reasonable conclusion as to whether you're a savant or to what degree you settled a particular distance from expectations. For example, if these are all straight wagers and your average wager was $200 and you wound up +$2200, you are 11 games over .500 roughly not factoring in juice, with 200 wagers having been made to account for the 40K in action. So you are looking at 105 minus 95 to get you to 10 games over .500, and then factor in your juice -- which could be -105 (YouWager on Fridays) to -106 (Pinnacle?) to -108 (Heritage?) to -110 (normal).

If you were playing normal juice for 95 losses, that is an additional 9.5 losses on that side of the ledger. So now to get to your +$2200, you need to be roughly 20 games over .500. That would be 110-90 ATS, which is solid as a rock but not something for the X-Files.

The remarkable aspect of your adventure, with these parameters, would be the managing to accumulate bankroll early with a run that enabled you to bet $200 a game going forward without taking a serious hit any given day for awhile.

This is all off the top of my head typing in real time, so if I've made any egregious errors, I apologize, but this seems to frame the question and your history pretty well. This kind of history, while unusual and semi-spectacular, is not an endangered species. It can and will occasionally happen.

I only bet 1400 in total, but the Ducks are gonnna screw me out of a ton of winnage.
They cost me 8k in winnage a couple weeks ago.
If the Stars win outright, I still end up 500-dollar winner on the day.
    Fuck A Duck!

Everyone seems to be betting on the Kraken today.
I like the Wild Puck Line at +130.
    But it's moved to +160.
    Ok

Yup. $50 down the drain. 2.4% chance of them winning now.

    4-0 Final.
    Easy enough money.
Not only is the Puck Line like stealing but other stats kinda matter as well.
For instance, the Kraken are now 0-11 on back to backs.
But you know, don't bet parlays.

*When I got to the book the number had changed to -1.5 +155 instead of +160.
I bet 305 and 300 to win whatever.
    I had 17k on me.
    I'm such a Fucking Wimp.

More Delusions from being Super Lucky...

Avalanche bounce back on the Money Line
    Devils Puck Line
Capitals are 8 out of 9 and scare me a bit but at home against Philly is a Puck Line bet all day.
Blue Jackets have been the opposite of the Caps.
Take the Panthers Puck Line on the road.
Bruins struggling and Knights are great in the Fortress, Knights Puck Line.
Hurricanes Puck Line no brainer, Alternate -2.5 Puck Line is usually green lit against the Sharks.
Kings struggle on the road but the Hawks are so bad you got to bet Kings Puck Line.

Mix and Match but never bet parlays.

    Avalanche Money Line
    Devils Puck Line
    Capitals Puck Line
    Panthers Puck Line
    Knights Puck Line
    Hurricanes Puck Line
    Kings Puck Line

    I bet $.10 into $1.23 tonight. I'll turn that into $10,000.

    I'm not going to lie.
    Yesterday was painful.
I put too much money into the Capitals and Devils.
I ended up losing 800 on the day.
    Mostly because of my laziness.
I had 30 minutes to bet on the Knights/Hurricanes Puck Line Parlay after what happened to the Caps and Devils.
These picks are like playing poker with a 64% chance to win.
You're gonna lose 36% of the time.
Was a really good day though.

    Av's killed them 5-1.
Devils lead 3-1 before disaster in the 3rd.
Caps lead 3-1 before the Refs F'd them and the Caps couldn't get the Empty Netter.
Panthers played some crazy 0-0 game that they won in OT.
    Knights Crushed.
    Hurricanes Covered.
Kings hit the empty netter to cover 3-1.
6-1 on the day (Money Line).
    4-3 (Puck Line).
    We should have made money.
    Whatever.
    Today I'm betting the Penguins.
    Probably the Puck Line.
    This isn't a great pick.
If I was you, I'd wait for tomorrow.
For me... I like to gamble.

$3.76 2nd set winner C. Tseng +250=$13.16. I didn't understand the odds on this match. C. Tseng won the first set 6-4, and was not the favorite to win the match. They are tied in the second set, each winning their serve, so I took C Tseng +120. Makes no sense, coincidentally the last time I bet on Tsiitsipas I lost $700.

    And...
    Did the Penguins win?
Did the Penguins cover the Puck Line at +220??
Are the Blue Jackets in huge slump while the Penguins are actually on somewhat of a resurgence?
Did the Blue Jackets just play a tough game that ended in a 1-0 loss to the Panthers?
Were the Blue Jackets on a back-to-back?
The answer to all these questions is an astounding Yes.
    Nice Job Pens.
You didn't Fuck it completely up.
    I mean you did try.
    Giving up a 2-0, 3-1 and a 5-2 lead.
But in the end, you hit the Empty Netter to win 6-3.
    I bet 1100 cash.
    Pay Me 2420?
    Is that right.
Dey gonna pay me 2220 in American Dollars?
    Nice.
*** See, I bet straight bets like Redietz too, well, sometimes.

Just off the top of my head for tomorrow.

    Stars Puck Line
    Wild Puck Line
    Blues Puck Line
    Knights Puck Line
    Oilers Puck Line
    Bruins Puck Line

The Avalanche and Devils are worth a look at the Puck Line.
I have more faith in Colorado right now compared to Lucifer.

Stars and Knights Puck Line 2 Teamer is a good start.
Stretch it to 3 with the Bruins Puck Line.
I don't trust or like the Bruins this year, but I hate the Sharks.
Fucking hated the Sharks since the Cow Palace if you didn't know.

I was just bullshitting about parlaying $.10 into something else. Unfortunately I'll say I'm addicted to this app I was lucky and I'm not sure about the outcome. Was pretty cool seeing the Korean baseball on video on the app. I took a bet and it went south. I don't know what I was thinking. Also there was some bridge jumper match I got sucked into that was well overbet. God isn't on my side with this one. I'm done.

    Lost 700 yesterday.
    Thanks Philly.
    Thanks Kraken.
Way to Fucking Lose but only lose by one goal.
    Good Job.
I'm heading back to the Smart Money Thread.
    Fuck this place.
Here's the Pens Tickets from the other day.
Two identical 400-dollar tickets to keep the bets under a certain amount.
