Moving forward physically as well as mentally. Letting go of the past, and, waiting for the future. With one's starting point less important than one's direction. Ideas, over people, places and things. Figuring out the life/death stuff for oneself, allowing for only one thus question/answer to the point of proving it out on paper, or else. The search for the truth, however. No one here should truly care about another's money, job, spouse, or whatever - which no one did, anyway, as too lazy to care.

The problem with the "entertainment only" seekers, was that they became only a different sort and degree of "entertainment only", with a bunch of offbeat inside jokes. A laughed at B laughed at C laughed at A, a seemingly endless hot pursuit.

Initially, for a few years, the gambling boards were about real people trying out real strategies in the casinos, yesterday, today, and tomorrow; even some serious discussions about optimal strategies, and gambling math (as far as it went). Shortly, the ideas gave way to posters who tried to fit in by taking over. The others soon left, for good, except a few of us who adapted, to the barrens, by peering further into ourselves, in search of more-abstract gambling-related odysseys.

Working life away for a bunch of dangerous fools - some call them the psychopaths of society - is a non-starter. It's hard enough to avoid them, but, deal with them if have to. No end to their lies about "for the greater good" of whom never begin to reap the supposed thus rewards. With these places relatively free of all of that stuff.

Numerals like 126 = 6*21 ---> 621 were an eye-opener for me, when the gematria guys were hard at it, five years ago. Got me into recreational math by real mathematicians. Quantum-relative like, between nonsense, and, sense. A deep reordering of the universe. Tablepooey used to mock me for calling such numerals a mathematical (closed) field. So, RIP, TP. Ha.

One of the top guys, a lot of them are world-renowned mathematicians, a lot retired, skated around asking me stuff to see that I was serious. By then, all hell broke lose, with some nasty comments, and, the question closed. But the guy got four or five of his friends, with enough points, to have the question re-opened, so that he answered it. Seemed to cause a major rift, if it doesn't happen more often than seems, over there. The head guy now keeps an eye out for me, even in the non-serious threads. I don't much ask stuff there that I don't want to know for my TOE. Stuff in obscure areas of math that I don't have the time to fart around with.

Math forums always have large swinging dicks you need to avoid. It is simply the nature of math forums, in any language, at any level -- be it high school level (where mickey tops out) or retired math professor level (...). I prefer to create many usernames and accounts to avoid leaving any sort of trail if I need to use one of those kinds of forums, and I don't veer into crackpottery. So far I have not even been grazed by a glans.

I do not know what you do for fun outside of sucking on your TOEs, but joining the graffiti scene under a highway overpass may open up new social frontiers for you. Maybe you are the next Banksy.

The constant appeared in publications as early as 1860s = (1960 - 100)'s ---> 1961. Norair Arakelian used lowercase ayb (ա) from the Armenian alphabet to denote the constant.

The constant name was coined by Samuel R. Kaplan in 2007 ---> 2 July. It originates from a professor of French named Dottie who observed the number by repeatedly pressing the cosine button on her calculator.

The Dottie number, for which an exact series expansion can be obtained using the Faà di Bruno formula, has interesting connections with the Kepler and Bertrand's circle problems.
