Shut the fuck up Karen, you know nothing about LV: hell, you've never even been there.

Then there's the fact that you live in hot, humid Miami: ugh...what a shit hole climate.

At least in Vegas there is little humidity.
    What, Me Worry?

North of that intersection is just nonsense....all the way to downtown. Circus Circus (should be torn down), Strat, Sahara are just minor league. I know they thought with some new big resorts like F-Bleu, Resorts World, they could turn that run down area into something more resembling the lower strip. Here is the problem. Foot Traffic. From the intersection mentioned about, south all the way to tropicana, people can and do walk. There is something every few feet, and a different casino every half block. The area north of Wynn/Venetian, you can't really walk. Well, you can but no one does. Long stretches of nothing.

With the benefit of hindsight, Resorts World and F Bleu were just a really bad idea in a bad location.
Reminds me of something a friend in real estate once told me.

He said in real estate only 3 things really mattered.

    The first thing was location.

    The second thing was location.

I know there was a third thing too, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was.

V, you should recognize her approach by now--it's the same as kew's, only she doesn't need a thousand words to get her retarded & make-believe point across.

OF COURSE she has no clue about was LV was or is. And if kew REALLY knew what he is talking about, it wouldn't have been lifted from posts Dan, I, and others have been saying about RW, FB, and the north end of the Strip for years now. That is why he rambles thru everything, thinking he's impressing the masses as well as any Man-About-Town would be expected to.

It's also the fact that Las Vegas is the literal Desert. People are hot, sweaty, tired, and parched in Las Vegas walking around the Strip due to Las Vegas being a hot desert. Maybe Fountaine Bleu and Resorts World would have faired better in a City where the weather was around a comfy 70 degrees most of the time like say San Diego in California?
It is a pleasant 81 degrees here today. Pretty damn nice for end of June. Of course that is 20 degrees cooler than the norm.

I think the problem dates back 20 years, when someone came up with the bright idea to change what Las Vegas has always been. Vegas is a gambling City. I guess they were afraid that with all the new casinos everywhere, people wouldn't come to Vegas just to gamble. Guess what, for most people that have a casino or two within an hours drive, that does NOT replace what Las Vegas is/WAS. If people want to go shopping, they don't have to come to Vegas to do so. If the younger crowd wants to go clubbing, they can do so in every major city. They ruined what Vegas was and should be.

Just out of curiosity Tasha, have you ever been to Vegas? I though I read that you haven't been more than 50 miles from home.
I've been more than 50 miles away from home. I have visited Cozumel, Mexico, have been to Orlando, and have been to Jamaica.

Just read a piece on LV tourism being down 6.5% and another piece on Aria charging $26 for a bottle of water out of the wet bar. It looks to me like the reason for the drop in traffic is people are tired of the price gouging.

I was annoyed when a coke at a movie theater costs $9. I just wanted a small amount so I said fuck it and ordered water. People need to push back more but nah, people can't even vote in their own interest. They love voting in the interests of the wealthy who own media.

$26 for a bottle of water? What the fuck? :mas: You could buy three 24 packs of water for that price!

Very true, here are some other things you could buy with $26:

A decent Bluetooth speaker (small, portable kind)
    A T-shirt from a decent brand
Two movie tickets (matinee or depending on theater)
    A decent bottle of wine
A modest dinner for one at a casual restaurant
    A good quality umbrella
A basic kitchen appliance like a hand mixer or toaster
A 1-month subscription to a streaming service like Netflix, Disney+, etc., with a few dollars left over
A paperback book and a coffee
A board game like Uno Ultimate or a party game
A set of sketch pads and pencils
    A small Lego set
A deck of quality playing cards (like Bicycle, or even a novelty deck)
About 3-4 packs of Pokémon cards
    A basic fishing lure set
A phone case with decent protection
A car wash and interior vacuum
A gas station gift card (about 6-7 gallons of gas depending on price)
One or two bags of premium dog food (small bags)
    A basic first aid kit
A large pizza with a couple of toppings
    Four or five fancy coffees
About 8 to 10 fast food cheeseburgers
A half-pound of good quality coffee beans
A couple dozen eggs and a gallon of milk, depending on current prices
    A small desk fan
    A set of novelty socks
A potted plant or small succulent arrangement
    About 26 scratch-off lottery tickets (if they're $1 tickets)
    A basic journal or planner
2600 pieces of penny candy or 260 pieces of dime candy or 520 pieces of nickel candy or 52 pieces of 50 cent candy.

Add to the list: a blow job from a crack ho, then a beer at the local bar with the change.

I got tired of paying out the nose for water while on the road. So I buy the 40 packs of 16 ounce bottles at Walmart for like $5.60 plus tax and throw it in the vehicle. It comes to about 15 cents per bottle. I buy cups of ice in the gas station/C stores usually about 50 cents. And I carry 4 bottles into the hotel rooms with me at night. Screw all those price gouging bastards.
