Thread: Retards at Rio gave $510 freeplay to anyone who was Caesars Diamond Plus or higher, or MGM Gold or higher... what do you think happened?

    Seriously... how dumb are they?

Amazingly, they announced the end of the promo but gave it 24 hours before actually killing it, thus causing the above lines.

I can only imagine how much money they lost doing this. Complete waste. This won't get them repeat business.

Honestly shocked a casino in 2025 is this stupid.

Gives us all hope that the consultants aren’t in charge of every promotion.

It really is some impressive incompetence.

Like ... just a fail in reasoning on so many levels.

Wonder what the biggest loss someone booked after collecting the $500? Honestly I'd guess something like $5k.

Even more stupid is people calling casinos out on their +EV mistakes. They should be telling them how wonderful this promo is and how much buissness and goodwill it will bring them in the future. Off the top of my head, this would have been worth about 7k to me had I been in Vegas and rounded up people.

I wouldn't have cared because I'd NEVER stand in such a stupid long line with so many foreigners & minorities for that long, and all I'd do is laugh at the number of people who were dumb enuf to have lost enough to have been foolish enuf to have received CET diamond÷ and 7 Stars status.

They should find the manager from Resorts World that wouldn’t comp the $10 smoothie for the $25k a hand player and cross breed them with the person that made this promo.

Then the offspring would probably get it about right.

Rob with this post especially & some of his other recent ones reminds me a lot of this scene from Southpark.

    I agree, lines suck.

I would be sure to have at least 3 people with me and someone holding my spot.

There are places where you can get DIAD for a low cost, which becomes +EV with the free play and gift card mailers. I assume they were taking higher-tier status cards from other casinos as well. Obviously, most of the people standing in that line are big losers.

This is where you and I part strategic company. Because this promo requires no skill, I would have told friends/family about it, but not with the idea of self-profiting. I don't understand how you can argue that I'm pennyante when I have never, ever grifted off friends and acquaintances in this manner, and you have.

The last time I ran into something like this was at what used to be the Maxim. I told my compadres, they did the hundred-dollar promo, I waited. It would not have occurred to me to think I should get a piece.

I guess we poor folk live by our own rules.

To me, something requiring no skill draws a clear, philosophical line in the sand. You don't exploit friends/family when you're really contributing nothing to the opportunity.

But then the hybrid couldn't reproduce, and we'd be back at Square One. Better to just capture the Rio person, give them a metal arm, and program them to kill all the Resorts World progeny. Call him the Summer Soldier and just turn him loose.

(Yeah, that's still my favorite Marvel film)

I was at the Maxium during that promo from start to finish. I can't remember how many people I ran, but it was a considerable number.

But, here is the thing, your people made less than $100 each after the machine vig, while my people made at least double that, and I too made double that for each person I fronted the money for. You guys just left a bunch of money on the table under your guidance.

So were you and your people better off than mine? The clear answer is NO, everyone made much less under your philosophy. As a matter of fact, I'm sure your friends and Compadre's spent money on travel getting there, got their Free Play, lost it all playing, and then decided to gamble more.

Meanwhile, I provided proper guidance, transportation, paid for lunch or dinner, and my people never risked a dime or even had to play a machine, all while making double what your guys made.

I don't know why you fail to understand that oftentimes people don't have the money to put up for this kind of stuff, even if it's easy free money. And even if they do, or even when you offer to give them the money, they're just not interested; they would much rather take a guaranteed flat fee/cut/freeroll to do something like this for someone else they just feel much more comfortable taking a guarantee not having to play or do anything. Of course, there are people that I tell about good plays who have the ability to go do it on their own, and they do just that.

I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people.

Oh, this requires no skill? Then, please tell me how you're going to get your friends and family to higher-tier levels without losing a bunch of money in the first place?

I'm fairly certain it's been mentioned before. I don't really think you understand(or you purposely avoid this aspect)l that when many Advantage Players talk about "friends and family," it really means people they have recruited over the years who are basically part-time employees.

Sure, some of those people may become friends over the years, but they're very happy with the arrangement and they're just not interested in doing the stuff on their own.

Those higher-tier levels they achieve are usually not something they've done on their own. There's a lot of time, effort, and risk in achieving and maintaining those higher levels while remaining profitable.

As to why some people use the terms "friends and family," people may not want the casinos and others to know they are running a bunch of employees and randos through on promotions.

Dan, you're not looking at the BIG picture here. The $500 promo SOUNDS stupid, but in the long run it REALLY isn't. A Woman won a $5,000 promo, ended up playing back all the $5,000 and more. So in the long run, a huge majority of the people who got the $500 will play it back plus more.
Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanently banned.

I am glad to get my full posting rights back! Thank you Dan!

We need to get you in the door on the backend of the casinos to help them get their heads on straight.

My, aren't YOU naive, sugar-tits: most of the folks lining up are locals who are doing a hit and run, one time only, wham bam thank you ma'am.

    Agreed.

She should start a consulting business to advise casinos in effective promotions by way of her extensive experience as a casino patron.
