I ask only because none of the tribal casinos I play at in the PNW did that when I visited, nor did any LV casinos in the past.

Maybe some do now in sin city, dunno, haven't visited for years.

If they find (or you delcare) a weapon at the door will they let you check it at the door, like a coat and let you in?

I ask only because a shit load of you people pack for self defense, which is entirely understandable given the environment you live in.
No, they won't let you in with the weapon.. They'll tell you you can't come in with your weapon. There are people who legally have a concealed carry permit like the Pharmacist who delivers medicine to Patients at their houses, but he would be asked to leave his gun outside.
Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanently banned.

I wonder if they would make Singer leave his “gun” outside?

Next, it's because there was an off duty cop killed in the NY shooting...who happened to be Bangladeshi. Maybe he should've been driving a cab for his moonlighting job instead. But they're labeling this guy as a "hero". Why? He was shot in the back as the gunman first saw him. He wasn't trying to stop the shooter because he wasn't even aware of what was going down. And his fate was no different than the other 3 poor souls who just happened upon this nutjob. If the cop's some kind of hero here, all four of them should be honored as such.
You’re missing a big one: When something goes bad at a casino such as a shooting, suicide, or whatever casinos are very good at making those stories quickly fade away especially in Nevada.

They couldn’t do much about the 2017 Vegas shooting obviously because of the size, but even here many casino killings, shootings, crimes, etc have been discussed in the past & the stories fade away very quickly.
I'm actually amazed how well they covered up a lot of the details regarding the Stephen Paddock shooting.

Here's what we never learned about him:

    - His actual finances

    - How much he won or lost gambling

    - Whether it was likely or unlikely that the attack was a result of anger over gambling losses

    - Any other possible motivations for what he did

I expected this stuff to surface within weeks of the shooting, but we still don't have answers to a lot of this. The story just went away.

The killer's name was Dakota Hawver. He was 26.

    https://www.rgj.com/story/news/2025/...g/85448699007/

The shooting is unexplained. He just went to GSR and opened fire in the valet area, killing random people. The 4 people shot in the valet area all knew each other, but none knew Hawver. Two of them died, and Hawver killed a 3rd person who was driving through the parking lot. Casino security got there fast enough and engaged him with gunfire, which stalled him enough to where police showed up and shot him almost dead. He then died that night in the hospital.

It's not clear why he did it, and he seems to have had no previous issue with GSR.

He was hit with a child support payment a few days prior, for an accidental pregnancy. He had contested paternity, but lost when a DNA test proved him the dad. He had a crappy job and was struggling financially, so this may have made him crack.

Clearly, GSR has moved on from this mass shooting. Like it never really happened. It's Hot August Nights around here now, and I've got my AMC SC/Rambler on display this week at both GSR and UNR. It's also the time of year all the freaks, queers, transgender weirdos, and other non-conformists head over to Burning Man, for several days of filthy discomfort and libtard nonsense.

Again...it's like it never really happened.

Anything considered to be unfortunate or bad that happens in LA is irrelevant to the rest of the world, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving place.

Just look at LA's totally incompetent, incomparably stupid, and racist mayor--Bass. Then there's the state's lying greaseball Governor who has completely destroyed his state...in every single way imaginable.

In a country our size - 2 dead 6 wounded should barely register on the national news. Like third tier. Especially if it was just a bbq in compton or some such.

You are right but there were some really strong clues about most of these for Stephen Paddock.

His wealth had decreased significantly in recent years. He was upset about losing some status as a bigger player at the casinos.

The biggest ones though were his mental health. He was on anxiety medication. His girlfriend mentioned he had become withdrawn and was no longer intimate. He was abusing alcohol apparently pretty severely. There was some speculation he had undiagnosed bipolar or similar disorders.

Some things that aren’t mentioned as much but I found interesting was he had been a postal worker & worked for the IRS many years ago. Also his father had been a bank robber.

Why I found that interesting was we all remember the reputation of postal workers going postal, usually attributed to the fact that postal work is a bureaucratic, repetitive, dehumanizing type job. Also doing IRS work would be good for someone without strong emotions or empathy.

His father having been a major criminal could be a mental disorder like sociopathy running in his family.

So to me it seems likely that you have a guy with some severe mental disorders already especially revolving around lack of emotion & empathy with some substance abuse thrown in on top.

And then you have the trigger event of a long losing streak with not receiving the same higher status at casinos thrown in on top.

Since he was dead though & left no indication of his motives wouldn’t be surprised if there was a lot of behind the scenes pressure to downplay any financial losses as being a motivation for what he did,

Sounds like the profile of pretty much any of the anti-Trumpers of today, who run around aimlessly like lost assholes in the streets with basically nothing to lose.
