All cities of any decent size have these areas. And Vegas has it's share. More than tourists that only visit the strip think. And some of the "shitty" areas are not that far from the strip. Just 3 blocks east of the strip behind Harrah, Venetian, Palazzo is a drug/crime infested ghetto area. And that is only 2 blocks east of the new sphere concert venue. If someone comes out of a show and turns the wrong way they are in bad area in a block or two.

well, this is key. When I was younger, I used to walk through some rough areas in both Philly and Atlantic City after dark. Never thought much of it. But as you get a little older you realize there really is no reason to do that kind of thing. It is not about being afraid or anything, just why do that?
