I am trying to find little angles to bet on for the next few weeks. Probably more individual situations rather than a general angle. Just so I can keep working through rollover until football season. I can bet anything that is a 50-50 type proposition, so I could even bet NFL preseason, but I don't want to do that. I am trying to do a little better than 50-50. 52 or 53% is a big difference in what I make per cycle.

If it wasn't for trying to find something to work through rollover, I would be content to just sit on my 4 division wagers and watch the games play out each day.

I took a large bet last night on SD and lost. Since things were perfectly acceptable this past week with almost all my bets winning, Im out on all the other games and just sticking with the Brewers, betting over $2000 today and rhe over.

Congratulations to the Brewers for tying their own franchise record of 13 games on Friday and breaking their record by winning their 14th game in a row. I kept saying I had a feeling they would win 20 in a row and it should be near impossible for them or any team to do. I wish I knew how AI found the answers to these things but it was an interesting paper I've been using in a personal fashion.Streaks need to be recorded so high within a reasonable time frame both within and overlapping seasons. There was some mention of needing similar streaks within any 162 continous games. Losing streaks are always clearly signs of bad teams so much easier than winning streaks. The nightmarish scenario the Brewers would play badly when only in the playoffs scares me. On a game like today little home run slump happened.

The Brewers lost today in extra innings. The Brewers lost some key players to paternity and bereavement leave so that's the way the cookie crumbles. I lost a lot today but I won a lot more this week. Ill probably not bet the series with the Cubs more than $500 a game.

So the 5 game series in 4 days, Brewers/Cubs series is here. When you fist mentioned this several weeks ago, the Brewers were up 4-5 games. This series was the Cubs chance to get back in the race. But now they are 8 games back. They really need to sweep this series to get back in the race. Anything less that the cubs winning 4of 5 is a disaster for the cubs.

Personally I don't think it matters. If the cubs playing the way they have played over the last month, somehow win 4 of 5 against the brewers who have won like 40 of their last 50 games, the Cubs would still be 5 games back with 5 weeks (by weeks end) to play. The Cubs are playing for a wildcard spot whether they know it or not.

So, I am growing concerned about my Phillies. Not really about the wager I have for them to win the division. I think that is fairly safe because the Mets have starting pitching problems of their own which will prevent them from reeling off a bunch of wins in a row. And if it does tighten up in the final 6 weeks, I can hedge that wager and still make a nice profit.

What I am concerned about is the Phillies going very far in the playoffs. I don't have a wager on a deep run (pennant or WS), I am just a fan in that regard. The Phillies are currently the second lowest odds to win the WS behind only the Dodgers, @ +500, they are even lower than the Brewers, which I don't agree with.

The reason the Phillies are such a favorite, is because they were built for a deep playoff run with 3 good starting pitchers along with good hitting. But all of the sudden their starting pitchers have some cracks. Wheeler is on the IR with a blood clot. Who knows how long that will be. he wasn't dominating in his last few starts anyway as he was most of the year. Ranger Suarez, is also all of the sudden getting hit around. Only Christopher Sanchez seems sound at the moment. Lazardo is a decent #3 or #4 pitcher.

I think the Phillies were hoping Aaron Nola could get back in the mix contributing, but his first start back from a long IR stint today was a disaster. Gave up 6 runs in the top of the 3rd inning and only lasted 2 & 1/3. #5 starter, Taijuan Walker is decent one game, terrible the next (that is why he is a #5) and not the kind of guy you want to count on in the playoffs.

So we will see, but at the moment, one of their strengths, starting pitching has some big cracks.

Yes. If he had been winning at baccarat 10k every day or not, he could have been winning an extra 10k a day betting on the Brewers but he isn't interested in winning money by gambling. KJ is a great contribution here in this thread, it's probably a blessing others with less knowledge and interest do not chime in.

Brice Turang for the Brewers is still an underrated source of home runs. A few weeks ago his odds were +1000 to hit a HR pre-game and these days about +500.
