Mirage shutting down for three years, starting July 17, reopening as Hard Rock

They just never integrated their system properly with Mirage.

I know this all too well. In fact I currently have a dispute with Mirage for an erroneous no-show charge. Apparently you can book online but can't cancel, even though the Hard Rock site will verify a cancellation. Got an email regarding the reservation still being active so I called up there and cancelled again. Then during the trip got another email stating I still had a reservation... really?? Two more phone calls, put on hold for 30 mins, ultimately no charge reversal. Idiots.

But yeah whatever they do will eventually be successful simply because the location is prime. I'm just saying the costs will be outrageous... maybe what 3-5B, probably more?? 3 years losing money on overhead, and if the economy goes further into the sh!tter, then another eyesore in the middle of the strip for several years. But I get it, why not go all in on such a prime spot? I don't share Rob's sentiments for the casino floor, it feels small and dated compared to modern high end properties. I will miss the Snacks bacon cheeseburger though... one of the best burgers on the strip.

BTW I was wondering about somepin over there in Oregon, or Washington state, where the weather is pretty bad year round. V, do you have a gardener?

No, my wife and I enjoy doing the work ourselves.

We live in a home that was originally landscaped by a professional designer : I still have the blue prints.

Lots of tasks to keep on top of, including maintaining a waterfall / pond, but it's good exercise and as I am retired I can devote the necessary time to it, and right now it really looks beautiful.

Almost all the homeowners on our street use lawn service folks to maintain their property, and I see them mowing in the rain, so long as it isn't a real downpour.

As for only CBD on the strip: huh?

Call the VIP room and they will likely take care of it for you. They're nice over there.

Basically the expectation regarding service you'll get when calling Mirage is this:

VIP room: Great, courteous, lots of leeway for the customer

Local front desk: Decent, though it depends who you get

National call center in Florida: Horrible, rigid, rude

Not happening anytime soon on the Strip.

As I mentioned at WOV once, even the "dispensaries" on the Strip are just selling CBD based products to unsuspecting tourists with no THC whatsoever.

At our homes if the weather is inclement for example rainy, we assume that our once a week gardener is off the hook and doesn't show up that week. When it happens rarely we just pay him anyway the usual monthly with no deduction for that no show. What about you? Do you or your neighbors have a gardener, and if so, is he expected to just show up rain or shine?

Just saw this question by mdawg. In the PNW rain does not stop most types of work because nothing would ever get done. Everyone wears rain gear.
