You found one fake. I didn't go deep down the rabbit hole to find one but any time I visited a seller of fakes I look and had yet to find one.
Contrast that to Rolex. Like I said Rolexes are for people who want to fake something. Or "represent" their success. The vast majority of time these men are far from self made. I just don't give a fuck about the status of it. I have friends through gambling and those who aren't. Those who aren't are typically engineer types. They're not watch people. Now in my gambling world there is a far wider range of people and those more likely to wear a Rolex, fake or not.
The only people that will ever notice you actually have a Rolex on are other men, or hookers who want to shove it up their pussy.
If that's the people you're trying to attract, then you should get a fake Rolex, because there's no way 99.9% of people can tell when you have a fake Rolex versus a real one when it's sitting on your wrist.
As far as an investment goes, well we have seen what happened with the decline of Rolex prices. Sure, there are some that supposedly hold their value, but then good luck trying to sell it at it's suposed value.
I tend to agree. If the woman knows about rolexes it is a bad sign unless she sells them.
Watches are definitely not investments. And given I have not been given anything in life and don't work THAT hard - I tend to like to hold on my money since I worked for it. I do think that Rolexes will hold value better than a lot of watches but models also go in and out of fashion. Just like art or anything else.
I agree about the fake Rolex and if you get a good copy that .1% that could tell won't even be able to tell without taking the back off.
I started getting into watches watching the silly semi-staged haggling on 47th by all the Jews lol. The videos were fun but then my interests started to evolve.
Rolexes shot way up during quarantine/covid times. A variety of factors but they're back to basically where they were prior. If you had sold your Rolexes during that period you would have done quite well for yourself. Daytonas and I can't remember the other one but there are a couple of models of Rolex that have more value than retail but tastes swing and change. It is hard to flip successfully and pay sales tax. Sales tax around here is about the same as the margin at wholesale level.
If is easy enough to sell watches or even figure out their value until you get to the very high-end and prices are either done by a handful of dealers or auction houses. chrono24 is an app that has the history of prices and such. Rolexes are very liquid. It is actually fairly easy to sell them for their value because of the gray market. The other brands aren't like this but there are always some guy who wants to trade around his watches/upgrade and such.
There are actually some gambling themed watches .. Perhaps I'll make a post on them. The mechanical complications can be a bit lol but it is all for people with literally too much money. For me watches are easy to collect and take up far less space than a car. Maintenance is far less too. I will have enough stuff to service and do minor repairs on watches outside of fabricating anything. A fun hobby.. better than VCT
