You wax a surfboard for some traction, so you don't go sliding off. That wax has to be removed so it doesn't build up and you can apply another application. There are many products to remove the wax. Almost all contain some kind of oil that breaks down the wax. I had a friend that used his moms common cooking oil. (I didn't think that was a good idea)

I used a product from the local surf shop that contained coconut oil. The owner a long-time surfer, told me to apply the oil at night and leave it on overnight rather than scrub it off immediately. Then in the morning you could just give a wipe with a towel and the board was clean of the old wax and other debris. You didn't have to go through that scrubbing (some even used a scrubbing tool) that most others went through.

He also said that leaving the oil on overnight helped prevent the board from drying out. When the board dries out, fiberglass or wood, it cracks and water gets in and the process Accelerates.

But this isn't a lesson on surfboards. My surfing days were 25-30 years ago. What this is....is a continuation of you guys trolling me. It does appear that coconut oil is used to remove wax for those using natural alternatives.
