I began hearing mid week that the Eagles would be resting their starters today. Entering the day, The Bears and Eagles were tied with 11-5 records. Bear had beaten the Eagles thanksgiving Friday so they held the tie breaker for the 2 seed. Eagles win and Bears loss would jump the Eagles from the 3 seed to 2 seed.

So the Bears, playing their starters and lost. And the Eagles not playing starters lost, missing an opportunity to jump to the 2 seed.

Why this matters: First round of playoffs both teams have a home game. But the 2 seed has the easier team (supposedly). But the biggest thing is that if both teams win that first week home game, they would meet the following week, playing at the 2 seeds stadium. So the Eagles would be traveling to Chicago, when they could have had a home game instead. That is a pretty big deal. I think this was a horrible decision by Sirani.
