I have a story about holding the suited ten with the ace...

about three years ago I was playing in a big poker tournament in Vegas, and during a long dinner break, I passed by a double double bonus progressive. It was a $1 game and the progressive was close to $5800. I put a $100 in the machine and started playing. After a few hands I was dealt Ah 10h and three other small cards. I held only the ace -- which is what you do with DDB. And on the draw came the Jh Qh Kh. That put me on tilt for the poker tournament too.

And in December of 2010 another experience: dealt Jd Jc 10d and three small cards... I held the pair of jacks, which is exactly right. On the draw came Qd Kd Ad.

And I've probably had about a half dozen other "wrong decisions" where I missed a royal. In hindsight they were the wrong decisions. At the time, I made the right plays.

Another player explained it to me this way: you play each hand the best way you can, and you don't look back or you'll just drive yourself crazy.
