Rob did have an interesting point. It hits American tourists much more than internationals. Not the best message to send.

I am not sure that any tourist will notice or care. I think the people who care will be first and foremost the Vegas locals who go to casinos for restaurants and shows and do little gambling. The second group that will care will be poker players and sports bettors who do not bet enough to be Platinum. The third group that will care are those who purposely avoid using a players card and therefore aren't Platinum.
No one else will be impacted.
Root is one of those high-end locals who was appalled by the fees.
Poker players will be affected. Sports bettors aren't going to make platinum -- there isn't even a set structure for assigning someone platinum via sports betting. To put things in context, Wynn, for example, wants you to bet 20K (that day) to get dinner.
The people who will be most affected are the restaurant employees who work mid-week, because their traffic will be way down. Boyd and Stations are probably thrilled with this.
I can't see Boyd and Stations charging for parking since they have primarily a local customer base. But if they had some sort of parking charge, even $1 a day, it wouldn't surprise me.
Cosmopolitan says it's "tired of people using our lot for free self-parking for other properties", and will now also charge for parking.
Caesars has really caused all of the dominoes to fall here.

This will go into effect in early 2017.
Parking for less than 1 hour is free, but it will be $7 after that, and then another $3 after another 3 hours have passed. So basically it's $10/day, with a free first hour and a $3 discount for 1-4 hours.

Just a heads up. Treasure Island is an independent, so parking there should be free. That doesn't solve a lot of woes, but it is walking distance to Mirage, Caesars, Wynn, and the Venetian. In fact, it's centrally located, in a sense.
Entertaining watching a bunch of high-octane gamblers even be DISCUSSING--let alone having fits over--potentially having to cough up ten or twenty bucks for parking!
Guess what that tells the common sense reader....
Rob both Dan and I are 7 Stars. We won't have to pay any parking fees at Caesars. But that doesn't mean we can't discuss what appears to us to be a poor business decision. Frankly I don't want Caesars to keep out low level players like yourself.
Already know that Alan. Also know that the only reason this is even talked about here is because the forum is close to non-existent in topics and membership.
The same topic was mentioned on the 11,000+ member vpfree, and there's been less discussion there than there's been here! And it's absolutely LOADED with players who aren't addicted to the high limit machines....
Treasure Island official statement: no parking charges FOR NOW. http://alanbestbuys.com/id240.html
