Rob Singer banned

I'd think you'd feel differently, regnis, if you were using your actual name and Rob libeled you. I mean, really, if you used your real name, and Rob said you weren't you, you weren't a lawyer, and you were making stuff up, what would your response have been?

I am pretty thick skinned red. I don't usually let things people say get to me like that, especially on an anonymous board. On the other hand, I have been known to send some friends to "talk some sense" into people.


I understand your issues with Rob. But as I have told you privately you should have just ignored him rather than feed the beast. Probably nothing you did to prove yourself would have been enough or would have stopped the abuse. It just kept the conflict going. That is why you ignore it and it takes the fun out of it and the issue dies.

I was never a fan of the attacks on Arci relating to his wife's health and similar personal attacks. But I do miss the entertainment aspect of Rob and I do believe that he believes in his system. Also, compared to some of the other posters here, is he really any worse?

So you recommend I send some people to "talk sense" into Rob? That can be done, you know.

The point is, I have people who think it's absurd (and an insult to them) for me to be on this forum at all. Their association with me is tarnished and degraded by Rob being free to make shit up regarding a real person posting under his real name.

Somehow, regnis, I do not buy the idea that if your name were under your posts, you'd be quite so magnanimous.

Just to be clear. I am not recommending any form of violence or retribution here.

Although the thread relating to your reputation continued for a short period after Rob's being banned, and then mainly as it related to Alan's actions (or lack thereof), it has now died. I do hope that it did not in any way tarnish your reputation in the industry. However, I think it proves that had you ignored the attacks it probably would have died even if he hadn't been banned. Remember also that I several times tried to back you up on occasion and those posts were completely ignored on this site.

I hope not to find out if you are correct about whether I would be so magnanimous. But I probably don't offer up enough information about myself to provoke such attacks--at least I hope not. I also have tried to become less argumentative both here and in "real life".
