That's not much of an answer. I went 2000 posts without mentioning what I do, but Rob's claim to be some expert gambler (based on unpaid columns in Gaming Today and some voodoo "system") was finally just too much to bear.

At some point, you have to tell the emperor he has no clothes or you're part of the problem. The more expertise you have, and the more you allow that kind of voodoo lecturing to continue, the more responsibility you have if someone buys into it.

The entire anonymity thing is a joke. People don't publish papers using pseudonyms. If you just have anonymous whack jobs making non-factual claims, a forum is a waste of time for everyone involved.

I actually found humor in the joke that Axel made about me that opened this can of worms. It was actually a carryover line of joking from another site that he and I both had just left. I have no problem with jokes in good fun, even when I am the 'butt' of the joke. The problem with Axel's joke was not the content, it was the timing. It was immediately after my first post on this site in more than a year, so nobody knew me, and that opened the door for any homophobic hateful members to attack....in a not so good fun way. And they did!

Here's the deal about the anonymous thing. In the AP community, especially here in vegas, but not limited to here, most AP's that participate on one or more sites, especially the more populous sites, like Wov, BJ21, blackjackinfo (for me), and some of the vp sites and/or Curtis's site (for vp and machine guys), know each other to some degree. Some people meet other AP's (I don't), but even without that, you know who people are. Sometimes, you know their real names, even having not met, sometimes you know their face. One guy on this site, I don't know his real name or face but I know almost exactly where he lives. I'd be willing to bet that even though I have met no one from this site, there are a few people, even on this small site, and many, many more throughout the community, that know my real name, first and last.

Axel thinks he knows me (I don't think he does). He swears he could identify my partner. Maybe/maybe not? A guy on another site, who I never met, picked me out at the tables. And even if you don't know the real name or face, participating on numerous sites, you get to know people and who is credible and as I always say "who knows what they are talking about and who is just talking". Most AP's use the same or similar handle on different sites. So I don't know how much anonymity there really is among AP's. The people we are really trying to stay anonymous from are non-AP's, especially anyone that just might work the other side. There are real consequences, financial consequences, career threatening consequences for losing your anonymity among that group.

I have been on several sites, for 10 years now. And I am a relatively young man, so that is a short time compared to some of you guys. Some of you guys born before cable tv, maybe even before color tv, have been battling on different sites since whenever the internet became a significant thing...I don't even know...the 90's? I was still a kid. So whether you have met someone, know their name, know their face, I just don't know how much anonymity there really is going on.

I am fine with gay jokes....in fun. I was fine with the joke axel made here. Like I said the problem was that it outed me on a new site to people that did not know me and opened the door to homophobic hate attacks that had nothing to do with anything.
