I suppose it depends on how you look at it. I don't like the fact they rob you of 55 dollars every time you make a straight flush. I hit 3 of them so that is 165 dollars they keep. I started on that bank playing on point days and everyone knows that you max out of 10k coin in but you can spread that play out wide. So I started on that bank around 24,300 or so. I ended up playing over a 2 week period and put in just over 14 hours. I was down 9200 or so when I hit it with an 80 dollar tip I came out ahead in cash around 15,200. The win was more so in the card with points, mail, comp and what not. However anyone in this town knows that Sams Town is not a very good place to play anymore. They got pretty upset about getting crushed on the Young At Heart Promo and they basically took almost all the 100% + plays out. Not that they still don't have some playable machines... they just have really cut up the value. I live close by so it was nice to play there 10 to 20 years ago but you really don't have good reason to play with them since they converted all the mail together now with Boyd in Vegas. I prefer Fremont or Cal by far over them.

Although, the Fremont pays to the penny... no rounding up 7 cents on those jackpots over there!! One thing you should remember when you play with Boyd if you do not know... you should always go ask the host or slot manager for a Comp within 24 hours of your play. This is a bit stronger when you show a loss since you can get a larger comp. It doesn't hurt your comp in my experience to ask for a pack or two of cigarettes either when you play each session. You can get up to two packs max per day when you play over 2000 coin in for the first and usually 10k of coin in is strong enough to get 2 packs depending on what property and who is working. I don't smoke but I know people who do. Personally Boyd is a little different in each property but it doesn't hurt to ask for things and it is always better if you can show a loss. They don't give me any problems these days but when I would just play smaller coin in they would give me a hard time when I hit jackpots. They were always willing to give me anything if I was showing a loss.

Anyone who knows knows that this is called a courtesy comp. I also find that if your Hawaiian or Asian they treat you a little nicer at these DT properties as well. My wife is Asian and they are always nicer to her compared to me being a Gweilo.
