Most people who live locally can eat at home easily for 10 dollars a day. 3 eggs and 2 pieces of toast and butter costs 1,00 for breakfast, a tuna or cold cut sandwich with a side of potato salad costs 2 dollars, and for 7 dollars you can have steak or chicken with a baked potato and veggie for dinner.

So if someone gets 3meals from the casino totaling 70 dollars for the day.....the only real value they get out of that is 10 dollars looking strictly at monetary savings.
And if you live locally and get free rooms...the only thing you might save is the cost of electricity and water you would use when you are home.

Its like a business man that travels and the company pays for food and lodging up to 120 dollars a day based on receipts submitted . In that case the only thing he saves out of his bank account is 10 dollars..since he is still paying rent at home, and he would have spent 10 dollars on food that day on his own.

So for people looking at gambling strictly as a business calculating winnings and subtracting expenses......comps are nice window dressing....but not great for accounting purposes
You can also get a bus pass for like $1/day instead of paying for a car and gas. So that $200 in gas gift cards is really only saving you a few dollars, because normally you'd pay for a bus pass, am I right?

Are you one of those suckers who PAYS money just to live in a house or apartment? That's a waste of money. Instead, go to your local sporting goods store and buy a tent (if you're sneaky, just steal one, save even more money). Now you can just live on the street FOR FREE! Doesn't cost a single penny! Waow!

What about a $500 gift card to target? Well, using your theory, that only saves you a few bucks too, because you can go to the $1 store, thrift shops, and the goodwill to do your shopping.

But for most people who aren't going to eat the same meal every day and only spend $10/day on food, there are some definite savings in getting comped meals at casinos. I guess I probably spend about $15-25 a meal when it's not comped. Neither I nor any other AP I know count food comps as part of their earnings. The only thing I consider is the money when dealing with earnings. Exception would be if I can play to get gift cards to something I'd already be using (like gas gift cards, mainly). Food, rooms, etc. is a nice benefit, but that's all those things are -- benefits.

I didn't know about OSN. Kewlj, you and the other APs should immediately stop posting on forums. I'm sure there are other clues the casinos are seeing.

Either you're undercover or you're not. Stop now.

yes you can get a large refrigerator carboard box and live in that on the side of the road.

I get a kick out of the AP's who think they are getting ahead at the expense of the "ploppies". The gobs of cash the casinos rake in from the people all around us brings us all down. Less income in a prosperous society is much better than more income in a mean society.

OSN is only one of several databases that track advantage players that casinos subscribe to, although they are now probably the biggest, at least in the Las Vegas market. OSN was originally meant only to be a database network for Indian Casinos, but their entry into the market coincided with the industry standard, Griffin agency's demise due to forced bankruptcy from losing a lawsuit to an advantage player. Griffin later emerged from bankruptcy, but lost all of their Las Vegas clients (casinos) to OSN. Griffin was able to get some hold in some or the smaller markets in the Midwest that have emerged recently. They also have a few Las Vegas clients, but those are casinos using multiple services. Hardly anyone (casino) uses Griffin as their primary database.

Most entries involve partial information, often a photo only and are only mildly problematic. You are basically "hot" for a short while among casinos that subscribe to that database service. After a couple weeks, it matters much less, as newer entries, become "hot". Plus not all subscribers, put that much emphasis on it. Some more than others.

But an entry like I described earlier, with more information, can be very problematic. Not necessarily career-ending, but problematic, at least for a significant period of time.

If anyone is ever really interested in looking, I have a copy of a Griffen book from years ago. It's very interesting, especially, the different stories about how and what people were doing.

This is no joke. The number one rule about Griffen book, there is no Griffen book.

Kewlj why temp fate? With computer algorithms it seems every additional post you and the other APs make only increases clues to who you are.

I don't know you from Adam but you've given enough clues any investigator could find you:

Blackjack, travel with a male friend, lives in a house, young, heart surgery, plays in Strip casinos, posts on several forums which may or may not leak your IP addresses, you mentioned known prominent gamblers who may or may not keep their mouths shut. Frankly, you spilled too many beans.

I wonder what your mortgage application had for source of income?

Alan, for all you know, I am a 68 year old Chinese woman.

I have received two different mortgages, while an AP. Professional gambler is not such an uncommon occupation in Las Vegas. Probably becoming less of an anomaly in other parts of the country now as well. It's pretty easy to prove with 5 years of tax returns.

My first Mortgage, was the tricky one for me, because my earning had jumped as I moved up in stakes, and I only had a couple of years at that current levels, so I had to put a significant down payment down (50%). Second mortgage was a piece of cake.

When I resumed play in early December after my heart surgery, I had one pit person, tell me he was glad I was feeling better. Not all pit folks are 'dicks'. They are the enemy, but some of them a 'respectful enemy'. For many you are only a problem, when your play creates a problem for them personally. I have tailored my game based on that. As a matter of fact, many play with an advantage on their own time.

Now of course some are complete dicks. Worst kind is the younger "gung-ho" pit people, just "promoted" and out to make a name for themselves. They are the ones quick to back off some low limit card counter, barely playing a break even game, and in the process, they lose his wife's slot business. LOL!

Griffin was particularly nasty. They went out of their way to NOT distinguish between "skilled players" and "cheats", lumping everyone together. I think that's why many AP's took a little extra pleasure in their downfall (besides the obvious reason).

You proved my point. There's enough known about you online that you can be identified.

Thank you for your concern Alan. I am well aware of my situation. I have friends in the business and monitor the databases regularly.

People seem to have the impression that I am just hap-hazzardly where I am today. Longevity is my top priority and I work at that.

So why did you use your real first name in your communications o other boards KewlJ-----

    if you are so aware

it makes no difference to me, but to use your first name, and leave all kinds of clues about your personal life is playing with fire ..isnt it?

If I know your first name then everyone does.

It was 10 years ago Larry, when I first joined a message board. I was in my early 20's. I didn't know the danger. I learned the hard way.

Because he probably didn't know better at the time.

Is there a chance OSN puts 2 and 2 together somehow? Yes, but the odds are probably very low. Perhaps he knows what places use OSN and avoids them. Perhaps he knows how to avoid being added to the OSN book.

Everyone takes some risks in life. He has probably weighed the risks vs personal rewards and made the decision the odds are low and it's worth the risk to him.

Now we know you are in your early 30s. The clues keep mounting. Shut up if you're so concerned. LOL

Johno, or Junket King or whatever you go by, you are a sick, sick dude.

I know you have spared me your fury and actually supported me on several sites, even though you are very homophobic. I guess it was 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend', or whatever. But I reject you and you disgusting behavior towards Larry and anyone else you hate. Again, you really need help!

Luckily you won't be here long.

YES, you did say something to offend me! Your posts, while not directed at me, are offensive to any reasonable person. That is not what we do here. There are rules.

Johno/Junketking, you are sick. You are really, really ill. You need to seek help. This is no way to go through life.
