The Crystal Palace was a pool hall in San Francisco. Then there was the Crystal Palace II on Bonanza and Eastern In Las Vegas. Years ago it was a big time pool hall. The Crystal Lounge in Billings was the first place I ever played Texas Holdem. I was living out of a pickup truck and working day labor around Montana in 1984. No machines back then but five card stud in the bars. Then I stumbled onto the Crystal Lounge and Texas Holdem. Annie Duke got her start playing at the Crystal Lounge. The joint is still going strong. Liquor in the front, poker in the rear. Karaoke 7 nights a week.
