Mr. Mendelson, as per usual vis-ŕ-vis gambling, is out of his depth. Now let me correct his statement because he uses tenses incorrectly when he says, "You don't" as opposed to what I said. The problem with "you don't," which Mr. Mendelson knows (being an intrepid reporter), is that it would or could refer to someone's entire life as the present tense. That is not precisely what I said, so I will correct him.
I was featured in ads and on website promotions, but that was roughly 10 years ago. I have not done anything with website ads since that time. I did bulk first class mailings back in the day, but have not done those for 20 years or more. I will send an actual letter to a handful of former clients each season to remind them I'm still alive. That's about it -- and when I say a handful, I mean less than half a dozen.
I have never used bulk email as a way to advertise. I do not email anyone unless they have contacted me first. I have never solicited via the phone, either by calling or texting.
Now all of this may and probably will change next August since I entered into an agreement with certain new partners who will take me into the capitalistic dark side. But as of now, there is no chance, zero, that Argentino received a text or email ad from me. I have never texted solicitations. I have never emailed solicitations. In fact, the only place my email address is out there in public is when it's listed as a contact next to my name in The Wise Guys Contest. Argentino has never first emailed me, which is the only way he would have received an email back.
Mr. Mendelson's journalistic response, rather than admit his own ignorance of facts and Argentino's lying, is to surmise that I must be fibbing about the lack of recent advertising. Then he uses an incorrect tense to try to trap me into agreeing with something not quite what I said. Then he says not a word about Argentino's ridiculous lying in his first post here. Now there must be some reason for these two yahoos to do this stuff. Not sure what it is, but it won't mess with my Master's watching today.
Mickey, if you get a chance, ask me why it's really, really strange that Argentino says I solicit business from him "EVERY SINGLE DAY?"
