I have had one outlier year significantly below EV and one outlier year significantly above, but generally actual results are pretty close to accumulated EV.

So the goal is to play as many rounds as possible, accumulating as much EV as possible. Now in the process, actual results will go up and down like the stock market, but the overall trend (longterm) is upward. So quitting when having a "bad day", all that does is stifle the overall total EV. In other words....quitting early based on some artificial goal or target, cost me money.

It really boils down to long-term vs short-term thinking. YOU are thinking about short-term results. AP's are looking at long-term results. Quitting to preserve some sort of artificial short time goal, would be like a baseball team with a goal of being ahead after the second inning. That is NOT what matters. What matters is the score after 9 innings.
It's an easy guess as to why Alan came out from under his rock. He put these two statements up because he thinks he's got a "gotcha" moment. That's pretty stupid of him because the two statements go hand in hand. KJ collects two stats, his EV and his results, then compares them. You can't record future EV and results. Everything he is comparing is in the past. Get it, Alan, dumass.

BTW, where's your buddy, Welfare Rob?

As stated previously, most of this is an attempted deflection from the previously dropped bomb. The bomb deserves its own thread. The bottom line is that the two most prolific posters on this site tried to fool everybody. Since math wasn't going to work, they attempted to construct a false biography to impress the readers of this site. Now whether Mr. Mendelson was fully informed while aiding and abetting is really irrelevant. He facilitated and indeed was absolutely necessary to it.

And let's be clear about this. This was Argentino claiming to be comfortably situated in life due to his strategies. This was Mr. Mendelson never doing the legwork (a couple of phone calls) to confirm or disconfirm the gist of Argentino's claims. Argentino was still recruiting "students." This was an ongoing scam.

I wouldn't even have any problems with Argentino getting food assistance if he (1) hadn't been caught doing fraudulent things and (2) hadn't berated others by claiming they were getting assistance. His song-and-dance wasn't about math, so he made it about lifestyle. Bizarre. What's even more bizarre is Mr. Mendelson committing to him.

Thanks for reposting Al. Saves me the trouble.

Mendelberg posting this thinking it proves HIS point is like Trevor Berbick posting this video of how well he can take a punch.

I am going to have to find a new hobby to fill my time if Mendelstein is going to make my points for me.

Mom is doing great....thanks for asking. She doesn't have it down to a science yet like my last partner/driver did but I have confidence she will get there. She is even doing some of our machine play through to keep the +EV offer rolling in.

Mick—then why is losing $8000 but getting a lot of EV a great day? That is the question in a nutshell.

so I accumulated 50 dolars in discover reward dollars.....and in the future I can cash itout for a Lowes giftcard. Even though I accumulated in the past, I can enrich myself in the future.

In fact I was told by my financial professional that I can use my accumulated EV as collateral for a loan. My accountant reports it on my tax returns yearly.
For folks on food stamps, like singer.....walmart accepts accumulated EV along with EBT cards.

What I like to collect as much as possible is....fairy dust. When I get enough of it , I can fly. And that saves me 30 dollars in gas each way to and from reno.

It's just the inviolate belief that forms the psyche of the "AP". The more their lives spiral out of control through simplistically mathematical micromanagement, the more they want to retreat deeper into that burning barn of EV. The "fire" of their losses is good. Buy or paste up another gambling "book". It's that you think you can bullshit that you have a good bet. Money won is twice as good as money earned.

He had a great day for accumulated EV but a bad day with the results. Casinos experience the same phenomenon.
