What locations in Vegas provide such a service?
What locations in Vegas provide such a service?
The TITO, hitting multiple casinos in a day, and cashing out at kiosks means I wind up with 3 pounds of coins in my pocket everyday. I leave it as tips in restaurants or get rid of it in convenience stores.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ
Those are good options MC
However, looking to unload more than 1k
The M and Ellis Island both have no fee machines. Both places to the right of their cages.
Yeah, that’s a problem. I think those coin stars get like 8%.

Coin star is 11.9 percent now
You can gradually get rid of it by going to a Walmart or other grocery stores that have self checkout. The self checkout machines accept coins. Just go early in the morning or very late at night when there are no lines and then buy your groceries with the coins.
Each year I take a bag of $500-$600 in loose change that accumulates, to casino cages which charge nothing. The last one was in Feb. at Colorado Belle. I expect there's plenty that accept change around LV.
Geeez
A lot of the coinstar machines don't charge a fee if you take a gift card. Plenty of options including Amazon + gas cards. There are also some banks that have their own coin machines and it's usually free for account holders.
Am I old for remembering having to roll coins? I still remember how much faster it was once we got these
I'm fairly sure Ellis Island has a coin machine, they may even have some kind of deal where you get a little extra FreePlay or something.
Thank you for sharing this. I can't believe I never thought of this.
My bank does not offer change counting services and still requires you to roll them up.
I forget where I heard or read this. But wasn't there an AP story about a casino that was offering a premium on coins exchanged - I think it was 10% over face in free play - that had to shut down because people were bringing in wagons full?
I can chime in here. About two/three years ago, I unloaded about 1K twice at Ellis Island and received a 10% free play bonus for taking the amount in free play. I distinctly remember because Argentino/Singer did his usual nose-in-the-air commentary about it being such an uncool thing to do. So the dates and amounts are in archives here.
Since then, Ellis ceased the promotion. But Axel is correct. The machines are still there and charge nothing.
I just dumped $50 in pennies in Coinstar the other day at Kroger and got a gift card. No fee if you get gift card. If you want money back, they gouge you, as mentioned.

A bit dumpy, the new beer garden should be an upgrade.
Decent BBQ by Vegas standards and good beer.
It was good spot for pros more so a couple plus years ago with the NSU and promos
Colorado Belle isn’t a complete dump? EI has a couple redeeming qualities brewery and bbq/cafe specials, Belle really has none unless you’re desperate for a $30 room or rv parking spot.
