I'd suggest playing on off peak hours because it garners so many scratch cards. I think that Tring calculated about a quad every 100 hands. I hit 46 quads and a SF in about 1 1/2 hours.
R.S.: I think that your references to "the Boyd collection of dumps" and that "no true AP would bother wasting time with Boyd" were interpreted as saying something about Boyd overall. Many of us read both threads. The contrast to what you posted in mickey's thread and what you've posted in this one is stark.
AndrewG: If you are just playing for the buffet, you may well lose more than it is worth. I think that 8/5 BP is more like $70 per TC. I wish that someone on this board liked posting mathematical calculations so that no one had to rely on my memory or guestimates. A TC is just $5 coin in on slots. I have also heard about a number of people who were gifted TR's and higher tiers. It aint me babe, but best of luck to the rest of you.
KJ: I'm glad your posting. I tried counting cards back when it was much easier. I was horrible at it. After reading about all the bannings and hassles from the heyday, I'm pretty impressed at how long you've managed to do this.
accountinquestion: You aren't the first person to make a case for giving up some EV to get some really good comps. Dan kept a pretty good thread on how to hit 7 stars cost effectively. By the time I figured that it would be a good deal for me to hit Tahoe, CET devalued the program. Rooms EVERY week with some double dip weeks?! Wow! Nicely done.
redietz: Thank you for the history lesson. I've gathered that there are successful sports betters out there, but I don't understand how such a thing is accomplished. Sounds like you lived through a golden age, but learn to adopt to changes.
