They are still negotiating this Tasha. It is one of the top stories in the news as it is happening right now in the Senate. They hope to have an agreement today and vote on it by Monday.
BUT, it is not every American. Initially it was every adult gets $1000 and an extra $500 for each child (maybe capped at 2 children per family). The latest plan I head is $1200 per adult. Now they are fighting over restrictions. putting caps on income, like $75,000 or $100,000, which sounds reasonable to me, even though that could disqualify me depending on what year they use. (My 2019 under 75k, while my 2018 was very, very good for me and would disqualify me).
I also don't think people on Social security need to get this money as their financial income stream is not being effected. This is supposed to be about providing money for people who are losing their income. People on SS are going to keep getting their SS. But I haven't heard anyone even suggest that SS recipients be disqualified. But again, no matter what they decide, you will almost assuredly qualify Tasha.
