Thread: My Christmas / end of year message

  1. #1
Now that Rob has returned it seems like as good a time as any for this. I have had enough of this forum. It serves no purpose other than entertainment and that gets boring quickly. The dominant member is a guy so jealous of players that are able to register some success in gambling areas where he only dreams of, that he spends his waking moments and final years obsessing with ignorant personal attacks.

I am ending my 15th year of professional blackjack play, 10 of those in Vegas at my current mid-level stakes. I have tried to share as much of tat journey as I could hoping that other players, especially the newer guys could benefit and get a realistic picture of what professional card counting blackjack play is Today and what can reasonably be expected and the trials and tribulations (and variance) of getting there.

What this sharing has gotten me is a handful of people (likely only 2 or 3) trolling me all over the internet doing everything they can to discredit me. To the point that one crazy bastard has taken it beyond the internet and been stalking me in real life, to the point that law enforcement has had to be involved on now 3 different occasions. The last time , the complain wasn't even filed by me, but by my building management.

So I have had enough. I have done what I set out to do.....as one of the few remaining card counting professional blackjack players, share my experiences as best I could. Maybe someone else can pick up the mantel. I'd like to get in 10 more years of blackjack play, but I am going to keep that journey to myself now. I am basically down to 2 forums and I am going to close out on this one because it just isn't evolving into what I had hoped. I will continue to participate selectively at the blackjack forum that I am on, but that is reasonably moderated, so you trolls looking to follow won't be tolerated for long.

So those that I have enjoyed your participate and considered friends, even if you no longer reciprocate, I wish you the best and a successful 2020 in and out of the casinos. Mickeycrimm take care of yourself. I think you are one of those throwback kind of tough old guys that lived life where his health was the last thing on his mind. You were given a good warning /wake up call. Take advantage of it and be and grow healthier.

And I am going to close with a final message to Michael Shackleford: Michael You were played! On a forum supposed to be about gambling (grows less and less about gambling each day), you were fortunate enough to have a handful of professional players from all walks of casino AP play participate. Some are now your personal friends.

While I wasn't a personal friend, I was one of the few and last remaining pure blackjack card counter AP's that was willing to share and participate. You did me wrong when you allowed someone posing as your "friend" to come to the site after a 5 year absence and demand that you take sides in a feud and ban me. A feud I have been proven right about.

And for proof that you were played and used, all anyone needs to ask is "where's Qfit?" "What has he contributed lately?" After using and playing you he has disappeared yet again, just like the 5 years prior.

I know you are not man enough to admit and remedy the situation and for that I am sad for you. I would have thought better. But it is what it is.

I feel like I should make a goodbye post then be gone for a few days..

We all knew Rob Singer was coming back. It was inevitable. The guy's need for attention is 2nd to no one I have encountered in recent memory. He is beyond pathetic.

    But yanno what? Thats ok.

Well I'll miss you kewlj. At least you contribute and I've learned a few things from you. Take it easy bud.
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

What a moron. Only this type person would actually make such a big deal about himself or herself on an anonymous internet forum with five readers...and think anyone cares or thinks his proclaiming to be this or that with no proof one way or the other whatsoever, would garner any sympathy. But it must satisfy that relevance-seeking worry-wart in him. I can see Shack tossing and turning all night long over this

Good riddance again. It never gets old.

I hope our paths do cross again. And in the meantime, enjoy life and wishing you a successful, happy and healthy 2020. Peace!

Now this is funny. An anonymous poster telling another anonymous poster that he hopes "our paths will cross again"!! Is kew for real?

For moral support: we're taking off for Henderson tomorrow and then onto Oregon for several months. I do not post or read any of this stuff while I'm travelling. So kew, you can already break your "word" again and return!

I actually could use some advice on trucks.
Most likely going to buy a brand new one tomorrow for cash.
    So many choices and opinions.
    I am leaning towards a Ford 250 6.2 V8 4wd.
Most likely more than I need but would rather have more truck just in case.
Seems the price point is best when I compare to Chevy, Toyota or a Ram.
Actually it is around 10k cheaper for the same power.
Anyways... whatever... just on my mind since I have been reading about trucks all day.

Most important question: what are you using a truck for?

In the process of buying a Farm/Ranch.
Waiting till spring to move. (Apr/May)
Use it daily for work around the property.
Not planning on towing but better to have the option when or if I do tow.
Most likely will be buying another truck used for a beater but this one will be all purpose.
Personally want enough room for 3 to 4 people and two 40lb dogs.
Would like an 8ft bed. 4WD is a must.
I like the idea of diesel (who doesn't?) but probably just get the gas version this time.

Sounds like you need a general duty truck. An F150 class crew cab is capable of towing at least 8000 lbs. with a gas V8 or one of the twin turbo models. You don't need diesel and it's more of a hassle anyway. They're for heavy towing on the bigger trucks. But I believe you can only get a 6.5' bed. The F250 or larger will fit your bill if you absolutely need an 8' bed.

Monet, what part of the country are you relocating too. And stay away from the diesel trucks. Don't hold resale value and run shitty in cold weather.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

That must have been a very quick trip to the Florida Keys and back.

    Still undecided.
Taking a trip with the new truck in a week or two.
Plan on looking into Oklahoma, Tennessee and North Carolina.
Oklahoma has some of the biggest houses with 20 to 80 acre spreads I have ever seen for 200 to 400k.
Property Taxes are a major factor.
It is kind of amazing how they can range from 800 to 4500 per year depending on State/County.

I ended up buying the Gas 6.2 V8 Ford F250.
We make choices and we live with them.
At the dealer the truck didn't seem as big as it does now.
When I was driving it home I noticed I was dwarfing just about every car and truck beside me.
I truly realized how big it was when I got it to the house lol.
Obviously now I realize this is way too much truck for me in Vegas.
Perhaps, if I make it to the Farm/Ranch it will be a different story but for around here I done Fucked Up.

Of course now I think about trying to change a flat tire or how to wash this beast.
Where am I going to park this Monster??
Should I put a bed liner in it or buy a cover for the bed or both??
I think I am just going to let it be and beat the living shit out of it.
I don't like those spray in liners and I don't want to open and close covers either.
Of course if people start throwing trash in the bed all the time I might change my mind.

I dunno, I look at it as a new toy and having some fun with it.
I took it out to Lake Mead the other day and off road a bit.
A few weeks ago I made 123k on a play so whatever.
I still have some value in this truck even after paying 39k in cash for it.
Worst Case Scenario... I sell it and lose 10k in a year or two.

On a last note I was calculating the costs of moving and I figure I am going to lose 50k just to move.
New Furniture and other things that you have to pay for.
It all adds up pretty quick and after that you have Farm Equipment, Animals... etc etc... I can see it inflating up to 150k or more.
So I am dealing with some anxiety of leaving the ease of Vegas since I have been here over 20 years.
It is starting to get hard to imagine not finding easy plays like single progressives or whatever.
Thousands in Free Food all the time... etc etc.
Whatever... we all got our own problems to deal with.
I realize it could be much, much worse but I will say that when wealth starts to accumulate it actually causes more stress than I ever imagined.
I found life to be much easier sleeping on the sidewalk.
At Least I have DEATH WOBBLE to look forward to!

Having spent a lot of time in Oklahoma these past couple of years it looks like a fishermen's paradise to me. Lots of lakes with resort type accomodations on them. Plus there are about 100 casinos to dink around in.

Do they have good River and stream trout fishing, because that's my jam. Unless it's some Clear Mountain Beaver Lake, Lake fishing considerably less fun. I like to be able to move up and down finding different pools and areas the fish are likely to be in like around, Fallen trees, big boulders and feeding Lanes. Not even that fond of huge fast Rivers.

The rivers and creeks look to be to muddy for any decent fishing. One of the lakes I spent time around is called Grand Lake of the Cherokee's. It's one of the top bass fishing lakes in the country. Though it's in the middle of nowhere there are lots of hotels there which tells me it's a fishermen's destination.
