Thread: What is the absolute worst thing Casino Staff have done to you?

  1. #1
I had about $ 7 freeplay about a year ago at a local casino,I frequently visited, and I am a low roller. I was playing about a nickel a spin and when the freeplay was cycled through, I had won about $8 dollars cash, I had pressed cash out at most times after a winning spin. I had about 30 tickets with low amounts on them. I went to the TITO machine but some Casino staff members were putting more money into them. I decided to go to the nearby Cashier cage, and she was giving me a wary look as she cashed them in, like, "This person is shady." A nearby Manager came up and asked me,"How are you doing?" I usually am on guard when people out of nowhere ask me "How are you doing?" Because usually something bad is about to be asked soon after, like the time a few years ago undercover Security Guard thought I was shoplifting when I wasn't. He thought he saw me put a store item into my pocket or something like that, and that wasn't the case at all. So, I am already on guard with the Manager asking me the dreaded, 'How are you doing" and then the shoe dropped. He straight up asked me if I was cashing out random players' left over TITO's. The nerve! I told him, "No," I am a low roller and had free play and was cashing out every time I won. He took a good look at the TITO's and realized each ticket were from the same machines just seconds after each other. He believed me. Still that's really bad to treat a loyal guest. Worst thing ever that a casino Staff member has done to me.

    Kentry,

Do you have anything to say to or any questions you would like to ask me before I block you? As a courtesy, I will give you 24 hours.

I was really hurt when you banned me from Wizard Of Vegas. I had posted over 300 posts in just a couple of months, more than people who had been there for years had posted and I felt resentment when I was just banned suddenly like yesterday's trash after all those many posts. I do accept your apology when you mentioned that saying, "You are the weakest link," to me was cold and that you should have had more compassion.

    Thanks for accepting my apology.

Kentry, where do you live? Are located near any casinos?

You are welcome. Mission, here is a question that has been eating at me for a long time. I snuck back on WOV after being permanently banned and was giving the Nuclear option for sneaking back after being permeanantly banned. Would I have been let back on eventually had I not snuck back(my new account was banned within a couple of hours by Beachbumbabs).

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that question. That's the sort of thing where, had you E-Mailed any of us or had someone else PM us on your behalf, we probably would have referred the question to Wizard. At least, I would have. How long after you were banned did you come back with the new account?

When playing deuces wild, I hit 4 ducks (it was hand pay). When this occurred I had about ~$40 in credits on the machine. When I asked them why I only received cash for the jackpot and not also for my ~$40 in credits already on the machine, they said they they would only pay the jackpot for the ducks. I asked to see the person's boss (floor supervisor I would assume) and they acquiesced. Basically they tried to cheat me. That casino is no longer in business BTW.

My understanding is that if you hit a jackpot that requires a handpay, and you still have credits in the machine above the amount of the jackpot, then you get the jackpot amount in cash, and the leftover credits remain in the machine for you to keep playing or cash out normally via TITO.

Yes, that's right. They wanted to keep the leftover credits since they were trying to cheat me.

What do you mean keep the leftover credits? Keep them in the machine?

Or did they zero out the credits after they paid the jackpot?

He's being parodic, but apparently in too convincing a way. I think it's pretty funny.

Don't feel bad, Coach, I almost responded the same way you did.

They intended to zero out the credits. I would not be able to play the credits off or cash them out.

You have to cash out any money on the machine with Tito or keep playing after a handpay. I almost walked away from credits once after hitting a 12k jackpot on a quarter machine. I was pretty excited. Haywire poker, triple double... 4 aces w/ kicker on a 12x. That was half my profit for the year.

I was told that the machine would be zeroed out.

Oh, shit, that actually happened? Sorry about that.

Why did you hand a Cashier 30 TITOs, especially low amounts? I'd be suspicious too if I were the Cashier and or Manager. You could have just put all those TITOs in one slot machine and then gave the Cashier one $8 TITO. That wouldn't have looked suspicious.

The worst thing Casino staff have done to me is make me leave my bag outside that was full of candy that I planned to eat later. I put it under the outside bench hoping no one would take it. Lo and behold, the bag was gone when I was done playing. If I had any common sense, I would have hidden it behind the bushes, not under a bench.

Thanks, I appreciate it Misson146. I may as well be specific since there appears to be slightly more interest than anticipated. This occurred at the Sienna Club in Reno about 12 years ago, give or take. The Sienna Club is gone now and there is a fancy hotel in its place. Anyway I asked about my credits since they left the machine frozen and they told me I only get the jackpot, not the credits or words to that effect. I asked to see the ladies' supervisor and then she also hand-payed me the credits on the machine, including the change (nowadays they just round to the higher dollar amount) and then zeroed it out.
That was the worst brick and mortar experience. I've had soft back-offs for card-counting, but that is their right. Cheating a person out of their money is not their right. I've had way worse cheats on online plays - getting stiffed out of hundred of dollars each at multiple online casinos.

I thought he was parodying Kentry by way of taking something that's not at all abnormal and making it sound like it was the casino treating him unfairly. Kentry's story was the cage supervisor basically asking him if he was credit hustling, (because he had some thirty tickets at or below $1, basically) which I would think is not a completely unreasonable thing for the cage supervisor to ask, given the situation.

I'm actually quite surprised that any casino would try to pull what Table Play is saying, but I've seen stranger things.
