Thread: Big Casino Wins and Jackpots

We were there for many hours.

Nice hit, Alan. It must be nice when a lengthy lousy session suddenly blooms into a profit.

  3. #1983
Nice bailout, Alan, but I have a question...

Why did you play 7-5 BP when they have 8-5 for the same limits?

I would understand if you're just running a few credits there, but given that you ran so many hands to be down $3k, clearly you should have seeked out that 8-5 machine.

You realize it's literally stealing $5 out of your pocket every time you hit that full house on the 7-5, right?

Where does Morongo have 8/5 Bonus?

And I should clarify... I was down $2300.

    vpfree2 says they do.

    Maybe it's wrong.

In some casinos you need to look for the 8/5 as there are more 7/5 machines than the 8/5. Harrah's Laughlin is like this.

I'm surprised you didn't go to Pala which has many verified 99%+ games, and is close to Rincon.

Here's some reasons that might make sense Dan:

Using that vpfree so-called "database" is like trusting Hillary or her creepy husband to give it to you straight. The people who claim to be "monitoring" the machines at various casinos no sooner actually regularly look at all the pay tables than they would rush out for a colonoscopy. It's always been all bs. Finding out for yourself is the only real way.

Morongo is not a small venue--neither is Pala. If you don't know going in where this or that machines are, it can quickly turn into a big waste of time for those who play for entertainment purposes.

They probably felt more comfortable driving to Morongo over Pala. I would have, given their locations.

And the point of going to a casino is to win. You've seen so many times that those who play on -ev games win, and sometimes very big, and you guys only know how to react to these wins by claiming we all MUST AND HAVE TO BE LOSING OVERALL by not reporting on the many losses that HAVE TO BE OCCURRING". It's the only was you people can deal with it.

Alan won. Who cares what the pay table was--you really think HE cares now that the actual results are in? What you're doing is the usual nonsensical "theoretical back-tracking". But what you're continually missing is all those extra $5 the 8/5 FH's would have paid him over the hours he played would have simply reduced his loss on the 8/5 machine, while the 7/5 machine yielded a profit-making royal. Do you get it yet....or will you EVER get it? I don't think so. You and your "99%+" games plus freebies and comps and whatever in order to create some sort of phony "positive situation" when gambling against casinos that ALWAYS hold the edge---all that nonsense is is for justifications and good feelings beforehand. Hardly the recipe for success in gambling.

That's right, Dan. The recipe for success in gambling is to just go play whatever machine is conveniently available, play a martingale style progression if you get behind, don't worry about comps or freebies, and have the iron clad discipline to get up from your seat and leave if or when you're ahead. And don't tip.

Of course, the word "success" doesn't necessarily translate into "winning money." "Success," in fact, could be measured by fun, or being able to view yourself as a genius high stakes wheeler-dealer, or never tipping. It doesn't necessarily refer to monetary outcomes in any way.

Thus, technically, "successful" gambling could really mean anything. Gawking at the cocktail waitresses makes every excursion, in some eyes, a cornucopia of success. Spilling over, and all that.

But the whole winning money thing, that's another animal entirely. Only "unsuccessful" gamblers, you know -- not having fun, attending to small differences in pay tables, stressing over wins and losses -- these sweating, grinding "unsuccessful" gamblers win money lifetime. And who the hell wants to be one of those? Nobody wants to track lifetime winning or losing. What fun is that? It would expose realities and bottom lines and long-term results. Better to be like the dude in the movie, Memento. Every day is a fresh start. Have fun; be "successful."

The English language, properly applied, is a wonderful thing. Rob is to be saluted.

Red, your theory about AP's being lifetime winners they way these idiots play is something to behold. Had Alan been playing the only known "positive" version of BP--9/5-- for as long as he played only dollars, there's no way he would have made a profit w/o a royal.

You're an armchair gambler anyway. Why spew meaningless theory when you don't even know its context?

While Alan was winning on 7/5 BP, I lost about $900 on 7/5 BP at Harrahs LT on the same denomination he played. If I were playing 8/5, do you really believe the difference would have been something to write home about? That's where you & Dan and those other two misguided armchair vp analysts are being blinded. And from what I've seen, Alan and I are the only posters who've consistently put up pictures etc. of big to huge winners, much to the chagrin of the masses.

Like I used to write in GT many times, winners LOVE to see and hear about others' wins; losers can't stand it. And the way people cope here is to find any fault they can based on theoretical situations.

The problem with guys like Rob, is they ALWAYS cherry pick results to show wins.

As for pictures, I don't play VP for a living. The only AP VP I do is Vulturing which is chump change. I'm not going to put up pictures of our flashing dealers, period. Go find them on your own.

Back to Alan's royal. Nice hit and great recovery!

  10. #1990
Rob, I'm proud of you. You actually said something that's correct. I AM an armchair gambler. Since I bet sports, about 90% of my current gambling is done from a swivel chair.

  11. #1991
Back to the question: where are the 8/5 Bonus games at Morongo? I would prefer to play them over the 7/5 game. We were in the high limit room -- quieter and no 18 year olds. The machines were $1, $2, $5.

Rob is correct about the massive size of Morongo. More slots than you'll find in ANY Vegas Casino.

Rob I am sure Chimp is still hitting winners but I think you scared her away.

  13. #1993
Did I mention chimp? I hope she IS winning so she won't be accused of "cherry-picking" pics of winners like jbjb claims everyone else does just so he doesn't feel so bad about his anonymous failures. And just IMAGINE the irritation he suffers thru when you put up those $100kers! His only way to cope is to assert how you have to be a loser overall. That alone is worth the price of admission!

  14. #1994
I just wanted to chime in with Rob on the vpfree data base. It is occasionally hit or miss, so you can't really depend on it for being timely regarding a trip to a single casino. I know Gold Coast and Orleans change their vp more frequently than the folks providing the data can keep up.

All of you cherry pick, that's a fact. Those same people are in casinos losing thousands every weekend and only post a winner, what, once every two months or so? So case closed on that. So you're debating the wrong people on that. Irritation? I think not. In fact quite the opposite. I love when someone makes a huge hit like that against casinos.

I'm thinking we should start a new thread. Big casino losers. Post photos and everything. I'll get it started.

Rob's mug shot on page one. He's blowing his monthly SS check in them.

What you're overlooking is that one big win can offset a full year of losses, and give you a net profit on the year.

Of course it never happened that way for me. I have a net loss every year. But it can work that way for others.

  19. #1999
He's agitated Alan, so all he'll do is keep making up scenarios that best allow him to keep from going on tilt. In fact, he just HAS to believe in how players who post good hits have to be the same type of degenerate gambler he is, and lose overall. Why else do you think such a coward goes at this anonymously...

  20. #2000
I have never had a winning year at casino gambling.
