Thread: Las Vegas Bowling

I'm guessing regnis is going to enjoy this post.
I welcome any advice from any member who wants to post.
I went out to some pool shop and bought some sticks.
Online they had more expensive ones but when you get to the shop they don't have a great choice but it's better than a house cue.
Anyways, I just lost more on this equipment than the bowling equipment.
I lost almost 1100 on this Negative EV Play.
    Here is what I bought

    Silver Cup Chalk GREEN × 1 $5.95
    Cuetec Hi-Tech Cleaner × 1 $6.75
    Bowtie × 1 $24.95
    SilverLC1048W Case × 1 $299.00
    Viper Shadow Buster × 1 $27.95
    Avid Era Cue × 1 $235.00
    Lucasi LZCB7 × 1 $390.99
    Lucasi Weight Bolt × 1 $7.95

    Purchase Subtotal
    $998.54
    Sales Tax 2022 (8.375%)
    $83.63

    Total
    $1,082.17

The dumb bitch who was taking offense of my sarcastic jokes almost forgot to charge me for the Lucasi at 390 bucks plus tax.
Stupid Cunt decided to leave a paying customer like myself to go help some idiots talk about a pinball machine.
No offense tableplay but she had a Big Fish on the line and it cost her another 600 in sales because I was going to buy a dart board, dart board wall cabinet, darts and some other items.
Anyways... turns out she Fucked up and didn't charge me for the 125 dollar Breaking Cue lol lol lol... He Shoots, He Scores!
With tax that saved me about 135 dollars.

Anyways both shooting cues were smooth.
I probably could of got away clean with just the Avid Era Cue at 225 game.
I bought that cue because of how good it shot and it never has any real maintenance and will never warp or wear in this Vegas Weather unlike the wood sticks.
I bought the Lucasi for 400 dollars because when I shot it, it shot Great!
So clean and precise, the balls just kept dropping in.
When I took them over to one of the pool halls I only played with the Lucasi and Break Cue.
I'll mess with the Avid Era next time.
    I struggled a lot.
I made a few nice shots but all in all it was ugly lol.
I practiced for two hours and called it the day.
Expensive at 10 dollars per hour but fun enough.
Nice to get back out in the world now that Covid is over.
300 dollars for the case but I got one I really like.
    Classic Colors and feel.
    Holds 6,7 or 8 sticks.
    I don't know because I don't have a clue what I am doing.
I just throw money at shit.
And I bought a box of Green Chalk.
I'll be the guy with the Green Chalk if you come looking for me cockroaches!

None taken. I totally agree about the poor customer service. For comparison I saw the Jason Statham version of Heat which was called "Wild Card". The 1986 version was about 5000 times better.

As usual when I start doing this dumb shit the cost goes up, up and up each time I purchase a new item.
Now I'm looking into dropping 1400 for the Cabinet and probably another 350 for darts and what not.
Here is a video of what it looks like.
    Worth 1400?
    Probably Not.
You could build your own for less or you could build a smaller easier one for less or you could buy a smaller easier one for less.
It's a lot of coin to drop when you know you could buy a smaller one and pro board for 100 to 150 bucks.
Undecided but love the concept, size and look.
    What would VCT Members do?
I do have the perfect bare wall for it in my master bedroom lol.
Wife gonna give me shit but I live to hear that noise.
Worst Case Scenario I can always sell it for 100 bucks down the road in a few years if I have to.
    I'm good at that.
Buy something for 1400 and sell it for 100.
Or like usual, just leave it on the street next to my house and in about 10 minutes cars and or trucks come screeching down the road, people jump out and stuff that shit in their tiny back seat.
I had a 100 foot hose that had a horrible chemical smell that I did that with the other day.
It didn't last 5 minutes before some beaner scoffed it up.
ahhhh... I know I'm gonna do it but am I gonna get Black, Red, Pine or something else?
    Red or Black most likely.
I don't like waiting or I could message the guy and have him do walnut with a glaze or shine on it.
    That sounds nice.
    I'll message him.
That will give me some MaxPen time to be able to reconsider this absurdity.

Bite the bullet on the $350 dart set I guess. For the cabinet I would buy a smaller one for less.

I would try to tell myself the last thing I need in this world is a dart board......RIP
FraudJ's word is worth less than the prop cash in Singer's safe...RIP

Major difference between Want and Need.

Actually it was 450 for the wall cabinet and 50 to 100 for the board.
Or you could buy a smaller cabinet and the pro board was included.
All for 125 which is the best AP Play but I'm kinda in love with that 1400 dollar version lol.
Let's see how baseball finishes up today.

You play darts in your bedroom?

Seems kinda goofy, but hey, when you've got the money you can do weird shit if you want to.

I have my dart boards nailed to a rough plywood cabinet door in the garage; errant throws won't carom off and hit my wife in the eye while she reads "Ladies Home Journal."
    What, Me Worry?

I have a somewhat small house.
    1500 square feet, two story.
Bought for 195 and now worth 340.
All paid off so there is that.

I really don't have another place to put it.
    One car garage won't work.
I have no friends and most likely will be the only one playing for practice.
I'm a weird dude though, obviously.
The Master Bedroom is pretty massive for this house.
    Enough for a Queen Bed.
    Dresser with TV on top.
Desk against one wall and still plenty of room for a foosball table and dartboard.
Although I would prefer one of those globe hockey games but nobody to really play against with it.
They run about 3500 to 4500 and worth every penny if you have friends.
    Which I don't.
That's why darts makes the most sense for me.
You can play that game by yourself.
I like to play with myself.
    Pun Intended.

I play darts solo at times, it's fun, relaxing.

Just wondering why you can't figure out some way to put the board up in your garage?

I have a bit larger than normal two car garage so there's a lot of storage (mainly built in cabinets and metal shelving along walls) with enough space that I set up a high end stereo system so I or my buddy and I when he visits can smoke weed, throw darts and shoot the shit all while listening to quality tunes; life is short, enjoy yourself.

This might be difficult for you to understand.
    This isn't Oregon.
    This is Las Vegas.
I don't have an air conditioned garage.
The board would get wiped out in this dry heat.
I don't want to throw darts inside a small one car garage that gets up to 105 degrees in the summer at night.

    That makes sense.

There is another option at around 630 dollars.
This one comes with the NODOR Board, Light and Darts.
Sure, its by far the better value but I don't love it like the more expensive one.
However at saving 850 dollars plus it certainly makes more sense.
I can't seem to download the image but here is the link on ETSY.

    You make a good point.
    I thought about playing hockey.
Back in PA I remember when Deck Hockey became a thing.
That gives people the ability to play street hockey in a refed up situation.
They had roller blade or tennis shoe options.
Not sure if they have Deck Hockey out here but I seen leagues play Ice Hockey at one of the skating rinks.
The problem is that I'm older now.
More easy to get into serious injury.
Ice Hockey is Expensive lol... the equipment alone is no joke but I would love to check some bastards up against the boards.
I played Football, Basketball and Baseball in High School.
    Loved it.
    Loved playing all physical sports.
But I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed as I approach 50 years old.
It is food for thought jbjb.
I thought about Flag Football as well.
If I get involved like this, I won't be as fat much longer.
I do carry my weight well though.
More of just a gut but with my height it isn't as bad as you might think.
No fat in the arms or legs... just mid section.
I'm still pretty damn athletic and I got the itch, obviously.
I used to play a lot of racquetball at LVAC so I could get back into that as well.
My Wife says I'm a Fat Pig but everyone else says I'm just a big guy.
She literally calls me FAT PIG lol.
I'm guessing everyone else is just being nice and my wife is shooting me straight.
I have no fat on my ribs.
I feel like I have a Huge Ass lol.
    Ice Cream is Good Food.

I used to occasionally watch professional darts on TV, the stuff sponsored by Guinness and such. And I have to say how amazed I was at the accuracy of those blokes.

    Yeah no doubt.
They have an English knock off place over here on Tropicana.
Its the Crown & Anchor British Pub.
Not a bad place and they are big on darts over there.
Probably a good place to get involved in a league.
I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the 630 dollar option.
It is just too hard to pass up as it comes with a board, darts and lights.
I probably won't use the darts as I'll buy a more upgraded option.
But yeah the price just makes sense.
    Yup... Credit Card Engaged!
Using Uncles Money anyway as its my birthday gift.
He's a rich bastard who has 6 figures in the bank and never needs to use it and the money just keeps pouring in.
I might let him watch me play if he is lucky
No Such Thing as Luck and stop using that word Asshole... talking to myself.
grrrrrrr... 681.68 as they figured out a way to pay the tax man for online purchases.
Remember when there was no tax for anything online?
    Those were the days!

Bowled 7 games in just over 2 hours.
Not bad but not so great.
    Still a ton of fun.
I picked up some difficult split and got a lot of cheers.
Wasn't expecting that but I'm telling you, bowling is fun and everyone is in a good mood with abnormal positivity.
It may rival Disney for the happiest place on Earth.

    Anyways, I bowled a 176, 175, 153, 200, 138, 164 and a 170.
I made a few turkeys and had the 200 game with a 5 bagger.
Other than that, I still struggled to control this Dark Code.
Fun Ball but you really have to throw it at the exact spot and the exact speed every time or it will take a direct left hand turn on you.

"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

Best thing for you to do is go hide in your safe space again. I don't want to cause you another heart attack.....RIP
