I woke up with a horrid stomach ache.
Wife told me it was the can of black olives I ate but I never had a problem before.
    I love Black Olives.
Turns out that Olives can cause a tummy ache.
Anyways, finally fought it off by midday.
Started to feel about 98% back to normal.
    So I went bowling.
    Bowled 5 games.
Lanes were slow, so I got alternating lanes.
The right lane was a monster.
Very Difficult as the ball would hook twice as hard on it compared to the left lane.
Eventually, I sort of got the hang of it as I had to kind of throw the ball in the air and pray.
    I bowled 118, 235, 150, 175, 179 in order.
I made two difficult splits that felt good.
    Nobody Cheered this time.
I marked every Frame in the 235 game.
Strung a 5 bagger and made a Turkey in that game.
Felt good but couldn't keep up that consistency.
I jumped on the scales today and noticed I lost 14 pounds.
I was up to 277 and now down to 263.
Bowling seems to be good exercise so I plan to stick with it as it is fun.
The major problem could be the beating that my left leg takes.
I get pain in my left knee on the right side after or during game 2.
Sometimes the whole leg starts to throb with pain.
    No Pain... No Gain.

    Thanks for the useful information.

This isn't very difficult to do depending on a few factors.
Can the individual throw the ball the exact way every time?
    Easier than you think.
    Now the important part.
Are they bowling on one lane or alternating lanes?
Much easier on the same exact lane and depending on if you are right or left handed you want to choose the easier lane.
    What are the oil conditions?
Light Oil... maybe beaten up a bit?
Those conditions make it very easy to strike every ball.
This is one reason I always try to get alternating lanes.
And always go to a different alley and get different lanes than you bowled on previously.
    Easy to do in Vegas.
The conditions at Sam's Town are horrid compared to the conditions at South Point for example.
    Much more difficult.
Like yesterday, that right lane had so much soup it was rough and the ball return was in my way so that I couldn't stand just a few more boards left like I needed.
Really challenging for the balls I use and hook I throw.
Made me want to buy another ball that doesn't hook as much and perhaps reacts better in heavy oil.
It's one thing to throw a 300 in Open Bowling.
It's another thing to throw a 300 in a League.
But it's really something special to throw a 300 in a Tournament Setting.
Tournament Settings are Evil and we aren't even talking Professional Tournaments.
Any Tournament will have you all over the place and maybe even miss scoring 100 pins on occasion.
That's why they say... so what if you know how to bowl?
Do you know how to adjust?

    Below is the PBA Masters.
Probably the most difficult Oil Conditions anyone plays on.
The pros have a tough time cracking 200 on these lanes.
The oil is so thick you can see it in Red... (1:23)

    Bowled 7 games yesterday.
I was on Fire for the first 3 to 4 games.
After that something happened and I couldn't get the same entry that I was getting on either lane.
    The oil changed on me.
I think I need another ball that is nonreactive, set up for medium to heavy oil and that doesn't hook as much.
I'll buy that in the next couple of days which means I need another bag that holds 4 balls.
    It's time.

    My games in order were 199, 229, 202, 178, 156, 153, 138.
Perhaps a combination of getting tired and a change in the lane conditions.
Not really sure but the last 3 games were a complete nightmare as I couldn't string anything together.
My 229 game should of been higher but I had two open frames inside of two 4 baggers.
I needed a Turkey in the 10th on the first game to get 200 but I got a chicken instead which we used to call 2 strikes and a 9.
The first ball I threw in that game I only hit 1 one pin and my uncle was laughing but I turned it around pretty quick to shut him up.
I missed the 9 pin spare on that first frame.
Of course he is too old now and can barely walk let alone throw a bowling ball or even pick it up.
Nice to have him there to drink a couple of beers and get out of the house.

Played Ten Games the other day.
I wasn't focusing on score as I was trying to practice technique and understand the difference between the 3 balls I am using.
I bought a Purple Hammer a week or so ago.
They say you are supposed to start with that ball till the oil pattern changes.
Anyways, I had horrible left leg pain for 7 out of the 10 games and right from the start of game 1.
Most likely due to a combination of out of shape, overweight, not strong enough muscles and age.
Must of been the Sciatic Nerve but I refused to listen to the pain.
I forced that leg to listen to me and by the 6th game the pain subsided enough for me to bowl 3 decent games just over 200 each.
The pain came back for Game 9 and 10.
I'm taking a week off from the game.
Looks like I'm going to have to hit the gym, lose weight and increase my muscle mass along with bone density if I want to keep playing.
If that doesn't work I will have to either give it up or just bowl once in awhile.
I dunno but that pain was making me somewhat dizzy/sick but no pain, no gain.
My dad did two tours in Nam and made it back with a Bronze Star with V-Device and a Purple Heart so I think I can handle some leg pain from bowling.

I'm trying boron supplements for shoulder tendonitis. I'll let you know if it works.

    Interesting.
Thanks for reading, caring, sharing the information and replying.
    Appreciated.
A few years ago I was taking Raw Living Spirulina.
I'm pretty sure I linked and talked about it here in one of my Juice or Weight Loss Threads.

    https://www.rawlivingspirulina.com/contact-us/

Anyways, they shipped it really well with dry ice and I bought a bunch of it and froze it.
After a few weeks I really didn't notice any difference but my chest started to burn or feel like it was on fire.
I figured it was the Raw Living Spirulina so I stopped taking it and threw a few hundos down the drain, literally.
After I stopped taking it, the burning sensation stopped.
My wife was making fun of me saying that they just skimmed that shit out of the wash channel lol.
I thought it was worth the try.
Perhaps I was wrong on that one.
    I'm wrong on many things.
Damn Internet Research at 3 in the morning kills me everytime!

No problem Monet. I am taking a boron capsule (3mg) once a day with some yogurt and some kefir milk. It's only my second day trying it, and all I can say at this point is that taking it with yogurt and a swallow of kefir milk, it hasn't really bothered my stomach. So hopefully it will get my inflammation to subside so I can play a lot of pinball without it bothering my shoulder. I am also hoping it will help with old knees.

    Radial Warbirds??
Tell me you don't want one and you don't want to get to this level of Remote Control!?

So it was about 10 days of rest since my last outing at the lanes.
Leg felt good and I didn't start any exercise or diet regiment yet.
So I decided to bowl another ten games and see what happens.
After game two I started to get some left thigh pain and a little bit of left knee pain.
A dull ache for 8 games but certainly more manageable compared to my last outing.
4 games over 200 as I switched between the Purple Hammer and the Wine Colored Hustle Ball.
I didn't bring the Dark Code because I have issues with that ball at this Bowling Center.
That ball has a ton of hook and the way I bowl just makes it worse.
Anyways, it is more about the fun and the exercise for me.
I still need to hit the gym and get stronger but I think I just need to manage how many games I bowl per week and let my leg get used to the abuse.
My sweet spot is probably 4 games per session but I'm an addict.

I bowled a few days ago.
It was a bit early on my schedule.
I wanted to see if my leg pain was getting better.
It sort of is but isn't.
The lanes were completely different this time and I had a hard time transitioning.
9 games played and my highest score was 186.
    My last game was 120.
I had left leg and knee pain but it was manageable.
I had two other problems this time.
The oil on the lanes were different.
They had a tournament the day before so perhaps the house pattern wasn't changed back on these lanes.
A lot of oil was on the 1 to 5 right side boards.
Usually I have to hook most of the lane but if I would catch that oil my ball wouldn't hook and it would slide off into the gutter.
I threw about 8 or 9 balls into the gutter which is a lot for me.
My Urethane Ball barely hooked on these lanes.
    Very straight.
So I struggled with strategy, ball choice, leg pain and one other problem I have never encountered.
After my 2nd game I had a guy bowling beside me who was what I would call a machine gun bowler.
And he had no courtesy lol.
So he would just roll ball after ball.
Many times he would be getting ready before the balls were being lifted.
It was very hard to time my shots in-between his.
    The guy was a champ.
He must of bowled ten games without a pause.
    His scores were horrible though.
    60 to 90 lol.
I tried to wait him out and I was packing up after my game 7 and of course he left as I was packing up.
So I played 2 more games and still did horrible.
    Mental Game Shot.
    Physical Game Shot.
Maybe knees over toes guy can help me.

Is this something that flares up with the bowling, or is it chronic where you're dealing with it pretty much all the time?

    Only from the bowling.
It's obvious that I need to lose about 50 pounds.
I'm just putting too much stress on my left leg and knee.
I may need to change my slide technique.
Some coaches have said that you need to slide towards your target and that can help.
But like I say, it's a combination of being out of shape, age, overweight, a muscle mass and bone density issue.
I just need to eat better, exercise more, strengthen muscle and tendons.
Get back into lifting weights to build up bone density.
This is a very common problem for bowlers.
And a very common problem for bowlers who took 15 years off and got fat.
Almost every account that I have read about claimed that when they lost weight and got in shape the leg/knee pain went away.
All my fat is located in my midsection which makes a difference, I think.

I used to play a lot of golf as well till about 10 years ago.
I would get massive middle back pain so I gave it up.
I also gave up hoops, jogging, softball, racquetball, tennis and flag football at about the same time period.
I just got fat and lazy... end of story.
I just need to get back into the gym.
    Go swimming.
Get back into the rowing machine.
    Cardio and Lifting Weights.
Probably never make it though as I don't have the same determination as past years.
The bed, tv, computer and recliner is just so easy.
It's right there in my face, every day!

After thinking about it for a few minutes I probably need a trainer but I hate paying those bastards.
But that would actually make me more focused and commit.
    I just hate the scam.
My bowling coach charges 50 dollars an hour.
If you do that 3 times a month that costs 1800 dollars a year.
You can buy a ton of bowling equipment for that amount and just watch youtube.
My bowling coach has only scammed me for 100 dollars total, so far.
    I hate paying him.
Another 100 dollars spent on him could of bought me another brand new ball.
And I refuse to do drills and I refuse to pay him to watch me do drills lol.

What you need to do is get off the comp train. Fuck all this casino shit food. I don't care how nice the place supposedly is. They all use shitty oils and all kinds of other garbage. I ditched it all completely April 2nd at 258 pounds. I am 221 today at 6'-2". So still some to go. Eat whole foods, no meat, no dairy, no oil as much as you want. Exercise additionally or not.

But exercise obviously helps. Your ailments are from poor gut health from years of shitty casino food. Research a company called Viome. Take their health intelligence test, follow their recommended foods based on your results and subscribe to get the custom made probiotics and prebiotics to fix your rekt gut.

Within 30 days of implementing this you will literally feel 20 years younger and it only keeps getting better.
FraudJ's word is worth less than the prop cash in Singer's safe...RIP

At least it's temporary, and you have bowling to take your mind off the pain.

But I'm calling BS on you watching a grown man bowl 10 games without breaking 100.

    How does escrow work?

    Solid Advice.
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond.
    I'll work on it.
I'm super lazy and I only like to do things at night.
Unfortunately Covid has killed this 24 hour town.
You used to be able to do everything at 2 in the morning.

He may have had a game or two over 100 and I missed it.
He must of been proud of one game because he took a few pictures of the bowling screen.
He was very new to two handed bowling so that is probably why the very low scores.
And like I said he wasn't taking his time.
He was machine gun bowling without any pause.
He was throwing a gutter ball almost every frame and other balls were getting up to 6 pins.

His lack of courtesy for the bowlers to the left and right of him was affecting my mental state.
It took a lot of energy for me to ignore him and not be confrontational.
    Which I rarely can muster.
I feel kind of good about not getting into it with him and ignoring him for the most part.
He seemed like a nice guy and one of the employees knew him so that kept me at bay.
He came by a few times trying to give him pointers on how to bowl two handed.
