DarkOz's AP play is simply using other peoples' player cards to get free play

First off, DarkOz was homeless longer than two years. Those might've been the two he was absolutely on the streets, but he was couching and homeless for longer than that.

I have a couple friends who are near top editors in the movie business. By near top I mean, they work as full on editors (not associate editors) for the top Hollywood films, some of which receive Academy Awards for editing, but when the awards are handed out they are not quite the ones who get to walk up there and collect the Oscars because the portion of the film they worked on might not have been long enough to earn them top billing as the lead editors for the film. However, in other films, that didn't get Oscars for editing, these friends of mine have been billed as the #1 main editor of the films.

Anyway, these guys get paid good money to edit a film, but if they're lucky, they get to work on one feature film a year. In the past, they have experienced single years pass by with no project. That's just the way the movie business is - you rake in a good sum of money (assuming you are at or near the top to begin with) for a project, and then collect nothing until the next project.

But the thing with these guys that I know anyway, is that they live hand to foot no matter how much they bring in - seem to blow it all as fast as it comes in. One of the guys hasn't even bought a house yet, and he's been in the business since the very early 1990s. The paycheck is just never steady, it fluctuates. Home prices being above a million or two for anything even half way decent in or near tinseltown doesn't help either. But the main reasons they aren't really getting anywhere - are their spending and saving habits.

So that explains why DrakOz here, who might have managed to make $20,000. one week (assuming it is even true) with his AP scam, would say something like "I make $20,000. a week." In the movie business, they don't necessarily make money regularly, it ebbs and flows. And besides that, at least with the guys I know in the business, they never seem to get ahead - they still haven't learned that wealth is a mentality, not a number.

Which is why a bum who brings in good money is still always a set number of weeks from a shopping cart - he just blows it all and can't get ahead. I assume Drak is just as bad with money management now as he ever was.

Well, finally you do have some understanding.

Yes, I pretty much come from the film mentality of income. For months someone can be making $20,000 a month and then nothing for the hiatus where they await their next project.

But none of those editors you mentioned would take the money earned for six months, add the six months without income, then divide by twelve, I am pretty certain. They would say they make $20,000 a month, just not every month.

As for money management, meh, that's going to be different standard for everyone.

I am comfortable enough that I can be spontaneous. If I suddenly decid to take the family to Disneyland for a month or I want to replace my home theater with all new furniture I can.

Perhaps that's not good money management, being impulsive.

But I can be if I wish. Why anyone else cares is beyond me.

Even Michael Jackson and Diana Ross couldn’t make a profit for Broadway with the Wiz in 1978.

Investing all your money being forced to live on subways trying to convince and fight the big boys, was obvious a foolish dream.

For a person that is suppose to be so clever, you certainly dropped the ball on that one. You should have convinced a person with the means who believed in your idea to get it to the next level for you.

Actually, it is very easy.
However, it can be difficult to maintain.
Without Unethical Behavior, Pulling Cards, Using other peoples cards and outright stealing/cheating.
Damn near impossible without some or all of those Evils.
7 dollars an hour, playing FPDW, without a card, is one of the few ways someone could go about it, without blemish.
But you might as well just get a job if you are going to do that.

Monet, why is it so important to you to label different advantage plays and advantage players as unethical, and or evil. AND want them to admit so. You seem to wear that as a badge of honor and want everyone to say the same.

I don't think most advantage plays are unethical. AND I have and continue to evolve on that based on the casino industry that we play against. Now there certainly is a distinction when you talk about cheating or stealing, which by the way you labeled me this week. I went to a casino for the purpose of downloading and playing my free play that they offered me. And I did just that. Yeah, there was more free play than I was expecting, but that is on them. I don't know what their procedures are. Maybe it was 50 times free play day, that I wasn't aware of.

On Dealer mistake: If a dealer makes a mistake against me, I am damn sure going to point it out, so I think it only fair if I do so when it favors me as well. Unfortunately I can't and don't point out most mistakes that favor me, because often it involves calling the pit guy over for approval and that draws attention, which I try to avoid at all costs. So I would sort of be penalizing myself (by drawing attention) if I tried to do the right things. So I have settled on a way of handling it that I am comfortable with.

I have also stated I am uncomfortable with hole-carding which people throw at me for years. Understand, I am not saying hole-carding is cheating or there is anything wrong with it. It just doesn't feel right to me. I don't care for winning that way. And I employed it for a while.

I mean, you just seem to want everyone to say, "yeah I am an AP and I am an evil person". The two doesn't have to go hand in hand. They do with some people, but not with others.

Be careful playing extra money you weren't expecting in free play. A Woman got banned for life from a Casino for playing an unexpected free play of $300. She thought it was an unexpected gift from The Casino. She lost her card one day and asked for a new copy. They ran her ID and informed her that she was actually on the "Banned for life," list for playing money that was accidentally given to her as a glitch....
