Thread: casino cheating

I think a definition of trolling is needed.

There is a poster here who constantly makes references to 9 and 1/2 to posts by Rob Singer and that must be called trolling.

Every time I make a comment about gambling that certain people disagree with they make comments about my kids or my business and that must be trolling.

But is questioning someone's results playing blackjack or poker or craps trolling or is it challenging their claims?

Now, is this trolling or not?

    As I stated before.
You have to PM Dan Druff about Trolling Issues.
I think it has to be your thread.
I think the member has to have an ongoing issue with trolling and not providing valued content.

    Whatever though.
You care about it way more than I do.
You can win this argument as I concede it to you.

Alan, The only thing Blackhole does is troll. Personal attacks, just like Singer. In this thread he attacked my sexuality and brought up my stepfather throwing me out of the house when I was 18 (and got his facts wrong!). Has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING.

Show me one thing Blackhole has posted that was beneficial to anyone. And for good reason: When blackhole sits down and makes a post, he doesn't intend to do anything but troll. I think he has even said something to that effect.

If you don't think that a poster who posts nothing positive or beneficial to anyone, who only posts attacking people and in a very personal way is NOT trolling, then you don't know the definition of trolling.

I am for free speech. I am OK with members that choose not to believe me or other AP's claims. I am ok with members that want to believe the earth is flat and that's why the Easter Bunny doesn't fall off.

BUT, members who prove, time and time again, that their only purpose is to troll and be disruptive to the forum, should not be welcome.

At the current time my list of such members is Rob Singer and Blackhole. Other members, like coach belly, slingshot, You, moses, monet have challenged me, my claims and even trolled at times, and I am quite certain don't care for me very much, but I would not lobby for their banning because they do contribute positively at times. Blackhole....Never. ALL he does is Troll. That should not be tolerated.

Even an absentee owner/administrator like Dan Druff, should be able to figure out who's ONLY purpose is to troll and be disruptive to the forum....who's only purpose is to bring the forum down.

I found the site difficult to navigate or I wasn't interested.
I wanted to see some of the posts about this alleged racism, anti whatever.

I did see a thread over there by you that I think you have over here.
Anyways... just curious if that site is as racist as WoV claims?
    Figured I would ask you.
Hey Monet: Norm accused me of being Anti-Semite. Hell, I had to look the words up to know the meaning. The were some posters a few years ago that were really putting it on Norm's ass for the way is favoritism obvious towards certain posters. There may have been racist stuff in there remarks. The was one guy who was anti-God. I can't remember his handle off hand. But I wouldn't want to be standing next to him in a lightning storm.

Nowadays, it's mostly me. Sort of like having my own forum island. But Norm can't stop my freedom of speech, and so I'm told, it drives him crazy. I was told the other day and the numbers suggest I've developed a sizeable group of readers/lurkers. I don't know why and don't really care. It's not my objective. A couple of others post that don't like T3's constant bragging and BS. But that's about it.

Maybe WoV should be more direct as to the contaminating threads. I think there was one guy, Creeping Panther that accused Norm of being responsible for 9/11. But that handle hasn't posted in years.

Norm (QFIT) accused EVERYONE of being anti-Semitic at some point. THAT is his "go to" card. Anyone that has any kind of issue with Norm he will label as anti-Semitic.

Accusing everyone of being anti-Semitic and threatening to sue them are Norm's 2 big things. I have seen him pull both those cards on dozen's of people, including forum owners. Norm has bullied several forum owners/administrators and threatened to sue them if they didn't stop certain posters from posting. He did it at BJ21 with Al Rodgers. He did it at the poker forum (2+2) I think it is. He did it at GamblingForums where several of us that are here, were before we came here. And to my knowledge there is only 1 forum owner/administrator that has given into Norm's bullying, Michael Shackleford. The others all told Norm to go pound sand.

That's not how it played out. Creeping Panther was a recreational AP, older guy now. Full disclosure, I had my own issues with CP at one time, but later patched things up and communicated privately for a number of years.

Back when there was that Ebola break out, there was some kind of weird thread/discussion about it. I didn't take part. I forget exactly what was said, but CP wanted to limit something for the purpose of minimizing getting Ebola and Norm (QFIT) was against CP's suggestion, in the name of free (not speech) but freedom of something, I don't remember. CP then said yeah all that freedom got us 911, or something like that. And ever since Norm twisted it that CP said Norm was responsible for 911.

The truth is that when Blackjackinfo shut down the first time (since re-opened as that is where this nightshifter person is posting), the blackjack community was looking for a new forum to move too. Norm had a forum, but like Zenzone today, it was very inactive, because Norm (QFIT) had so many conflicts with so many different people in the community.

So since Norm already had a forum up and running, I suggested we migrate there. I made the first post and encouraged everyone else to follow. And most did. Even some that had previous problems with Norm, as Norm promised to let bygone's be bygones. A couple good members of the community like BillRyan from (WoV) AutoMonkey (great part-time AP, incredible math knowledge), Bojack (likely blackjack hall of famer Tommy Hyland) and a few other refused, knowing Norm too well.

So guess what happened? Not immediately, but over the first 2-3 years, Norm managed to systematically ban and get rid of each and every one of these AP's that he had previous issues with over the years....Just as he promised NOT to do. Each case was different, but Ended the same way, including CP, including me.

Best Poster ever at Norm's blackjack site: Mickeycrimm.

Mickey didn't care about blackjack (at least not too much). He showed up at Norm's site after Norm had pulled his stunt at WoV, bullying Shackleford to get me banned. Mickey had one goal...to speak his mind before getting banned. And boy did he. Mickey told Norm just what he (and most people) think of Norm, in nor uncertain terms. And mickey was shown the door and I suspect all references removed.

Can you believe, little old me, happens to know the self professed greatest sports handicapper on earth? HE had the easiest pick of the entire college bowl season. Too bad, he only had $80 left to bet on the game because he'd lost the rest of his bankroll on the earlier games. But to hell with money management, he is in it for the long run and he should live to be at least 300, meth aside. Who wouldn't love to be the house with this guy? Yes, according to him, I will continue to lose without his picks or adopting his skills.
Well, I went 5-1 for the NFL season at $2,200 a game. You do the math.

I could care less what KJ does or claims he does or claims is possible. I see value in being the house in pitch games with 60% pen, straight up, and HiLo with a limited spread and todays rules. So yes, I will take that bet. Reverse game selection. RGS. There is a new term for the wisdomites at BJTF.

I don't care what anybody thinks or believes what I do. Game selection is my key. So I will play straight up single deck, 3.2, 6 rounds with 2 hands on the last round, against a cheating machine or a dealer or a human. I do it damn near everyday. So why would I turn down the opportunity to complete against someone who has the cash and won't 86 me?

What I don't understand is this constant desire of those who to speak to or write about it all. IF it works? Be happy it works. If it doesn't work. Find what does work or stop doing it.

Two things I won't play is a dealer that preferential shuffles or shuffles every time I make an increased bet beyond round 4. Just Walk Away Renee. The one thing I watch is the dealer who can seem to pull out a 10 whenever necessary. That's not always a bad thing.

People are people in my opinion. My first boss after college was Jewish. He taught me more about money than anything I learned in college. He taught me a lot about life as well. I played ball with and competed against hundreds of Afro-Americans. To this day, I'm not exactly how the want to be referred. I never thought to ask. It was just another guy or player as far as I was concerned. I've taken it outside and been in some heated battles with members of my own race.

Norm was certainly not interested in bullying me when I called him directly. He impresses me as someone who is not comfortable in his own skin.

Thanks for correcting me. CP was before my time for the most part. But seemed like a helluva good guy and the real deal.

Monet, KJ has a far better handle on this than me. I was just another idiot, who fell into their trap, thinking they could help my game. I would've gotten far more out of a 20 minute cup of coffee with Don S and Mr. Thorp than I did in 5 years out of that fucking place.

LMAO. The Mickster was at BJTF? When? I would love to go back and read some of those old posts.

Actually it's 30.77% tens and 38.46%with Aces. This is why HiLo won't work in pitch games. For one thing, your spread is limited so you can't overcome the downturns of decks when Aces and Tens come out early. Now, with a column count, you can survive these decks until you get one to your advantage. Everyone knows that a deck rich in Tens/Aces is a good threshold. But few ask themselves "what don't I want remaining"? For advantage, the less 5s and 6s reduce your chances of getting 15 or 16 significantly. Therefore, it's not always about betting large in a deck rich in 10/Aces. Sometimes it's about accumulating funds by passing on large bets when the deck is also rich in another group.

Hence, you don't have to make bad bets back if you don't take the bait in the first place.
Moses, I’m intrigued by your counting system and seen you discussed in on other forums. Could you please elaborate more on it? How many side counts do you use? Do you only side count 5 and 6s? What about 7s? Is side counting saying the same thing as what you’re calling a column count? I use Hilo on pitch games but would like to expand it to gain a better advantage. Thanks!

Bob. A column count groups the cards played. Then it's a matter of knowing the percentage played and the percentage that still remain. This replaces the math needed to determine the true count. Basically, I've replaced memory for math and exact for estimate. There are no side counts. Well, the Aces are counted and side counted. I mean you wouldn't want to make a max bet if the deck were exhausted of Aces.

A column count encompasses every card in the deck and assigns a group tag value. A percentage count assigns a tag value to certain cards and then decisions are made on what percentage of the tag values that you chose to assign are played and remain. Still with me? lol

A column count is design for deeper pen, not as good as the old days, but better pen than you can get in most of todays games. So 2-4s and 5-7s are assigned a value of 1. 89 is -.5 each. 10s and Aces are -1. So, I count like this. 5-2-6-6 thumb touching index finger. This tells me 4 tens are played; 2 8 or 9s are played; 6 5-7s and 6 2-4s. and 1 Ace is played. This particular deck composition indicates my minimum requirement for betting two hands at just under casino tolerance. The tally reads 6 large card value played and 12 small card values played. Thus 60% large remain vs 40% small remain. Hence, a great value for the next round. If no large cards have been played we know the accumulated tag value is 0. Therefore, if 8 smalls are played we know the deck is 60% large remain and 40% small remain. Simply add 1 to the small card side and 1.5 to the large card side and the formula for your minimum value bet is 60%-40%. 0-8, 1.5-9, 3-10 all the way up to 13.5-17. I go just over casino tolerance at 67%. 0-12,2-13,4-14,6-15,8-16,10-17,12-18.

Now, why is the important? Well, it really isn't for the first half of the deck. Generally speaking, that's pretty much a crap shoot. But the deeper we go the better it gets. Why because I'm seeing cards differently than a HiLoist. Suppose I have 12,13, or 14 and the deck is loaded with 89s and 5-7s. I probably want to hit that hand vs dealer 2,3,4. Why not vs 5,6? Because this may prompt a twitchy dealer to start preferential shuffling on every deck. Hence, short pen to the point the game is no longer playable. In spite of what T3 professes, the risk is not worth the tradeoff because that overall outcome wouldn't change much anyway.

Suppose I have a max bet out on the last round of the deck. My 2nd hand is 16v8. I know all the 2-4s are gone. There is only 1 card in the entire deck, the 5, that will improve my position without breaking my hand. I stand and hope to hell the dealer has to hit from the only cards 5,6,7,8 that would force that motion.

You probably always hear me reference ducking is better than swatting. Here is why. Suppose the count above of 5-2-6-6 and 1 Ace played is instead 5-2-3-9. The risk is your betting into a deck composition that is also loaded with 5-7s. This is when you get that 15 and 17 for you two hand investment. Duck another hand and see if the crap doesn't come out. If it does, now swat with an even better deck composition. Again, this is based on the dealer tendencies and/or pen.

On a percentage count, I'm playing the best percentages possible with limited pen. This I know from reviewing line by line on more sims than I can remember and playing thousands of hands on Verite exactly the way I play in the casino. Keep it simple is what I picked up from KJ and RS. So we all know to bet into a deck rich in tens/Aces. But what few of us know is when NOT to bet even though the deck is rich in 10s/Aces. That's called ducking. In a percentage count the duck is built it. So you don't even know you're ducking. Nothing worse than getting 15 and 16 with a two hand max bet out. How do we minimize this? The answer is in the tag values. 2-8 are 0; 347 are 1; 5-6 are 1.5 and 9,10,A are -1 with the Aces side counted. The tag values add up to 48; 24 on each side.

Why is this important? Because 48 can be equally divided by 24,16,12,8,6,4, and 2. Therefore, it's very easy to define your ratios. Consequently, you are getting a higher percentage of value plays in a deck with about 63% pen. Quality vs Quantity is vital where you spread is limited. The card tag assignment says or indicates we want a deck rich in 9,10,A but also poor in 5 and 6. We don't care about the 2 or the 8. The minimum bet requirement are the exact same figures from the exact same formula. The only thing that has changed is the tags assigned. NOW, I can adjust to the dealer tendencies or change of dealers on the fly with the best application possible.

Now that I've totally lost you Bob. Any questions?

Anyone with a question feel free to fire away. The one thing I picked up from KJ and RS is simplicity. Notice how simple the percentage count is.
There are only two 1/2 tag card values to deal with. Wong Halves has 4.

Is wasn't so much a matter of figuring out what I wanted. It was a process of throwing out what doesn't work and/or I don't want.

Now that I've totally lost you Bob. Any questions?
Moses, thank you for your detailed answer! This was much more than I expected, and very much appreciated. I’ve read it a couple times now, and plan to read it a couple more times. Believe it or not, I kind of get it and followed probably 25% of what you wrote. Is this in a book somewhere or is there anywhere else I can spend more time reading up on this strategy? I have some questions but I first need to have a better grasp of what you’re doing before I ask them. Thanks again!

You're welcome. 25%? That's pretty darn good for a first read. No books. It's all pretty much in my head and on some notes. But one thing I read from Peter Griffin that always stuck with me was "good engineers understand complex equations, but the best understand how to make complex simple again."

To save you some time. A column count is designed for deep pen. That is rare nowadays. But I did it for years before pen dropped. So it is 2nd nature to me. Now if I could just get someone to play me! lol

Why have I made adjustments? Because the frequency of quality large bets is drastically reduced along with pen. I can still win. IT just takes more hands and longer. Since I place a high value on time, the goal was to get a few more large bets without sacrificing too much quality (or a strong deck composition). So I racked my brain, relied on my tools, and sought info/advice from others in order to make that happen. RS cake analogy sort of pulled it all together. So, I would suggest focusing on the percentage count. I honestly don't know how well it will work with deck estimating. Exact percentage is easy peasy for me but only about 4 people on these forums understand it. So don't beat yourself up too much if you don't.

The one thing I learned from the cartoon Peter Griffen. The one thing I hate to learn is a lesson.

Makes sense. I’ve got Peter Griffen’s book but it’s been a while since I read it. I plan to do that tonight. Never hurts to go back to basics.

Btw, have you ever thought of having a bootcamp and charging $3,000? I hear there’s a group doing this for Hilo. If they can charge $3,000 for Hilo, who knows you might be able to charge $5,000 or $6,000 for your system? I’m somewhat kidding, but it’s something to think about. There’s a market for this stuff.

LMAO. No. I'm pretty much considered enemy #1 to boot camp givers.

I like to win. Don't really need the money. But enjoy the competition. I thought about writing a book. But there is only about 8 people left in the world who play single deck straight up. lol Everything I do is condensed. The book would be about 8 pages.

You've got a good sense of humor.

Moses, I have decided not to post any questions. My questions were not really about you specific count and more about some general things about you, your situation and The area that you play. I have decided not to pursue that line.

But I do think Dan should break off this section about your count to a new thread. Not because this thread is some great work of art that shouldn't be hijacked. Far from it. The only purpose of this thread was to inform players, of what this poster said and allow them to decide for themselves. I would have been fine if the thread was closed after the first post. Any further discussion was only going to go along the lines of the great AP-anti-AP divide. AND IT DID.

The reason I believe the posts involving your count should be broken of into it's own thread, is because, even though I complete disagree with your approach and you recommending that approach to others, if there are players like Bob21 and possibly others that are interested in your approach, you should have a place to discuss it and answer their questions. And that place should not be some other thread where that discussion will get buried by the usual bullshit that every thread turns into.

    Not every thread.
Perhaps a high percentage of threads.
The Juice Fast thread hardly had any backlash and I was surprised about that.
Go Knights Go hardly had any usual BS.
That Road Pics thread for the most part seems to have survived most of the BS.
I am sure even you kewlJ have a few threads that haven't turned sour.
You are at a disadvantage because of your choice of orientation.
This gives anyone that target to blast whenever they don't agree with you, understand what you are talking about or just want to be plumb mad-dog mean towards you.
As I have said before I don't agree with your personal life.
However I have only praised and respected your Black Jack Prowess except for those ideas that you do everything 100% on the up and up.
I do attack that Honest Abe idea in a house full of lie, cheat and steal.
Recently you posted that I don't like you too much.
Not true. I don't really have any problems with you.
You do what you do and I do what I do.
    Live and Let Live.
We are in the same City and Casinos but entirely different worlds.
We could literally go our whole lives never running into each other in this small city.
