Thread: Fools going to DC march

  1. #21
Yes, dictatorships have the advantage of being able to move fast on things. One of the not too many things I recall from the two political science courses I took.

Now on to the Trump march, or whatever it is. Time to get out the popcorn, for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, no bloodshed.

There is so much going on here, but, suffice it to add that even a proved real and actual theory of everything can not, by definition, be overly interesting. After all, if you look at, say, only the possible types and degrees of abstract point as micro/macro- black hole, electron, space-time singularity, a point made of its own surface (a one-sided surface, or line), an untenable point so "small" that it dissolves to every where at once, a point that is our particular universe with respect to an infinity of universes, a point that is in while out, and, so on, then all you have to do is go over and over your theory, until you have stumbled across all the "hidden driveways" in your theory that lead to such, in practice. Trial and error, like anything else. As well, for a theory of everything to be of much use, ie, a theory of everything, then it can't occur on the very end of things. It can't be overly interesting.

That you even have to joke about it.

I'll never understand the so-called AP's here, who tried to put everyone else down, including themselves, as fewer regular members returned. Thousands of thus essentially useless posts to try to legitimize themselves. Was KJ the only one here not to go on to lock lips with each other and Trump? How the hell to be an authority, on anything, if follow a nut like Trump?

My first few years on the gambling forums - at other, now defunct sites - I sincerely tried to specifically outline lots of specific casino gambling stuff, along with some actual experiences. Slowly, my focus shifted to, "Hey, what the heck is going on with these forums?" To the psychology of gambling and the like. But, I always tried to learn something to move forward, in one way or another.

Little wonder that I ended up where I began, still with a theory of everything. I mean, life is so wacky that there actually is no other way to keep track of it all in one way throughout.

I revel in the absurd; as I predicted, today has been very "interesting."

As for Mr. Crimm and the other Kool-Aid swilling deluded dolts: they've been mind-fucked by a pro, pure and simple.

And to put it in a Las Vegas context: both the Trumpish zombies rioting in DC and regular casino gamblers (AP's excepted, I suppose) are motivated by false hope.

They don't build and run casinos by paying out winners, and Trump didn't get where he has by telling the truth.

    Jail to the chief!

I see the same absurdity, in a different way, in the on-line science and arts forums. For a couple of months, this fall, I tinkered around with one of the English forums. Look, English, and math and physics are endless subjects. It's not like Hawking claimed, thirty years ago, that there is someone alive, today, who will end physics. (Hawking claimed, at the other end of the spectrum, that philosophy was dead. The philosophers turned around, and told him, and others that he had no understanding of philosophy.) The people on the English forum don't want to hear about what their words mean, in terms of math and physics; any more than the people on the math and physics forums want to hear about what their endless ideas mean in plain English. People with hundreds of thousands of posts about the politics of their forums, the homework/new questions, and in which category each bit specifically belongs if at all. Day after day, basically the same people, along with and opposed to the transient new ones with homework or other questions.

Serious theoretical physicists have a projected timetable for the so-called remaining problems. Another hundred years to separate out the phenomenon of local quantum effect, and, another hundred years for the next bit, and, so on. I think, in actuality, there can never be strong enough particle accelerators to see, say, the matter-building "strings" of String Theory.

False hope, in a different way. It's been noted that educated persons "bite" the hardest.

    That picture says it all.

MisterV, I don't really post here any longer, but today was remarkable. If you want to check out my blog, here's today's entries:

If you check back from last year's blogs in March, April, May, I nailed everything regarding the pandemic from the very beginning. If you synch up the blog entries with national media stories, you'll see that I was ahead of national media by days, sometimes weeks. It did not take Mensa quality thinking; it required paying attention and listening to experts, especially international experts.

You're actually correct, mcap. Someone who gets almost everything important correct has no business on this forum. MisterV, you can PM me if you ever need advice. Be good, mcap.

Can I assume every Republican on this forum is now hanging their head in shame today? There is blood on Trump's hands.

  15. #35
I don't know Midwest Player, you could say Biden voters have blood on their hands because if they didn't vote Biden in then today's events wouldn't have happened. Like the butterfly effect.

No, we'll still laugh and heckle you.

The problem isn't Republicans: the problem is Trump.

Hell, even Lindsey Graham finally wised up and threw the Orange Oaf under the bus.

Most Republicans supported Trump for most the time. On a percentage basis, you have to think that many more of the higher-ups still do, compared with the number of morons who showed up in Washington. Fire the whole fucking lot of them. None of them have "wised up", in the way you think, or want to pretend.

Anyway, doesn't the above bunch look like the people at the Burning Man events, except that neither of them is stoned?

Sorry, but you'll have to try harder to waste someone else's time.

Graham and most other Trumpies leaped off the foredeck of the sinking ship into troubled waters because it is now politically expedient to do so.

Of course Graham's core beliefs remain the same: that tick will simply have to find a new dog to latch on to in order to retain power.

SARS mainly affected Canada and China in 2003. Ebola was bad but mainly affected Africa and lasted about two years. Zika was pretty mild and lasted like a few months.

The Spanish Flu was REALLY bad, but that was 103 years ago and MOST people alive today don't personally remember it. Kane Tanaka is one of the ONLY people alive today who is old enough to personally remember it as she is 118 years old and was born in 1903. She was 15 when it broke out, but she was living in Japan when it broke out and Spanish Flu mostly affected The Western Part of the World, (United States, Mexico, Canada, etc, ) Not the Eastern Part of The World(Japan, China, Philippines, etc). The Black Plague happened in like 1300 and affected Europe mostly and the London Plague happened in like 1692. Both of these affected Europe.... And no one is living personally remembers The Black Plague or The London Plague. Nipah was also bad, but lasted less than a year from 1998-1999 and mainly only affected Malaysia. In fact, Contagion Movie was based on Nipah.

The Coronavirus is the first Pandemic to really affect US(US as emphasized us, and US as in The United States), so we weren't prepared for it. In the Future if another Pandemic hits US majorly, we will be better prepared after learning from Coronavirus....
