Thread: Total Rewards Seven Stars Benefit 2017/18 - Atlantis Stay - Significantly Downgraded

  1. #1
Recall, this was last year's package for all Seven Stars members (with a tier score of 150,000 or more) booking the Atlantis Bahamas "partnership benefit":

-Complimentary 4-night stay in a Deluxe Ocean Suite at The Cove Atlantis
-Complimentary Room Taxes, Maid Gratuities and Daily Resort Fee
    -$100 Resort Credit per night
    -$250 Free Slot Play
    -Atlantis Casino Experience Pass
-Crescent Lounge Check-In at The Cove Atlantis
-Access to Cain at the Cove, an adults-only ultra-pool with gaming pavilion
-Access to Aquaventure, a one-of-a-kind 141-acre waterscape with 20 swimming areas and 11 pools

From all the Atlantis trip reports I've read last year, there seemed to be no strings attached and no bait-and-switching of any kind.

    ---

This year, the same package is available for Seven Stars members! But you must have a tier score of... 500,000.

    ---

So what will us peasant Seven Stars members be offered this benefit year?

-Complimentary 4-night stay in a Deluxe Ocean Suite at The Cove Atlantis ✔
    -Complimentary Daily Resort Fee Only
    -No Resort Credit
    -$200 Free Slot Play
    -Atlantis Casino Experience Pass ✔
-Crescent Lounge Check-In at The Cove Atlantis ✔
-Access to Cain at the Cove, an adults-only ultra-pool with gaming pavilion ✔
-Access to Aquaventure, a one-of-a-kind 141-acre waterscape with 20 swimming areas and 11 pools ✔

Basically equivalent to last year's Diamond Aspirations Level 2 benefit.

That's too bad. I was considering doing this in April. Now I'm not nearly as excited about it. The $100/day resort credit was VERY important, because the food is so expensive. That is $400 out of your pocket right there. The $50 reduction in freeplay is no big deal. However, losing the taxes and maid gratuities sucks, and probably adds up to another few hundred dollars over a 4-night stay.

You say there is no bait and switching, but I have yet to run into someone who went there and played NOTHING. Those who reported it went well still played a fair amount.

I believe this is a marketing partnership, and CET is likely not paying Atlantis anything for these benefits. (If anything, Atlantis is paying them.)

I'm guessing that Atlantis was unhappy with the amount of play from the Seven Stars members. They probably assumed that Seven Stars were all whales. Once they realized that many Seven Stars were bonus whores or pseudo-bonus-whores, I'm guessing they complained to CET, who responded that raising the requirement to 150k would separate the Seven Stars bonus whores from the actual gambling addicts.

The Diamond offer they cut back as well. Now you have to pay resort fees if staying at Atlantis. I took advantage of this back in January (the final month of the old offer). If anyone complains about Vegas buffet prices, I'm sending them to the Atlantis buffet! :-)

Just for fun, just how pricey is the place?

    Hi Canadian:

I am planning of going to Atlantis next month under the (watered down) Seven Stars offer. I expect to stay at the Reef tower as there is a kitchenette so at least we can cook breakfast ourselves. The "resort fee" is comped but looks like the VAT and maid fee is not. I was told over four days it is an additional $135 for those. The confirmation I received had buried some weasel-like terms and conditions at the end of the email in small font: "If you redeem this complimentary offer you are expected to play to the same level of casino play or greater. If you do not play or show reduced casino play you may be charged for some or all of your upfront complimentaries including rooms, food & beverage, limos, etc. If you need additional clarification, please contact Casino VIP Services or your Player Development Executive."

What level of play, if any, did you undertake on your trip and did you get any blow back from the resort on any level of play they expected?

I had hoped that I would treat it as the NCL cruise where there were no consequences for how little I choose to play, but I would like to hear actual experiences from others.

    Regards, FAB

I didn't enjoy the slots (many were broken) so just played at the tables. I played way less then I normally do and there were no extra charges. You do get comped alcoholic drinks while playing. They serve you fast on the tables for your $1 tip.

Alan - I think the buffet was $77 USD! When converted to Canadian it would be over $100. We tried to eat off site as much as possible.

This is exactly what I was wondering.

I kept asking people, "What if you don't play at all? What happens?"

I would get responses like, "Oh, they're totally not concerned with that. You don't have to play much at all!", but then upon questioning, I learn that the person actually DID play a fair amount.

I want to hear from someone who no-played them. That's why I hesitated to redeem this offer last year when it was better.

Clearly Atlantis downgraded their offers because they realized they weren't getting their money's worth out of the lower-level Seven Stars and Diamonds.

    Hi Dan:

The lowest play at Atlantis I have read was this guy whose forum name is "Iceicecool" on his Seven Stars offer experience:

    https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/fo...2#post-1346393

He reports that after a few days he was contacted by an Atlantis host who wondered if his players cards was working. The response was he was too busy doing activities to gamble -- which was not what the host hoped to hear. Eventually, the Seven Stars guy reports he played and lost the $250 free play, lost another $300 in the machines, then stopped playing. There was no repercussion on the bill when he checked out. Mind you this was last year, so maybe was a reason for watering down the offers this year.
