Thread: "Diamond" offer received despite continued 7 Stars Status

  1. #1
I just talked to a host at a Vegas Total Rewards Casino who told me I qualified for a Diamond offer of 4 free nights plus a $100 folio credit.

I was 7 Stars last year and I am 7 Stars again this year.

I thought being 7 Stars in back-to-back years prevented me from getting the Diamond offers?

I said nothing about this to the host and I will not name the property.

    What's up??

My understanding is that because you earned Seven Stars again in 2015 you get the diamond offers again. The discussion I had about this was specific to the tier offers that include airfare. Had I not played this year and re-earned Seven Stars, I would only have the 2015 Seven Stars trip with airfare. But because I accrued another 150,000 tier credits, I also earned another diamond trip with airfare credits to use in 2015/early 2016, as well as a Seven Stars trip in 2016.

Edited to add - I won't have travel where I can use any of these credits to actually use them, this is just what was explained to me by my host at my home property.

As it was explained to me, you should qualify for the Diamond Aspirations I and II offers again each year - even if you later hit Seven Stars, you "earned" those when you hit (iirc) 40k and 80k this year. I believe they have different redemption deadlines from the "guaranteed with status" offers given with Seven Stars.

What's up is that you made the ongoing mistake that all of you CET loyalists here regularly make: you talked to yet another casino host.

Seven Stars don't get the Diamond annual dinner but we do get this stay and credit?

Isn't this offer useless to you, anyway, because it prevents you from using better offers you have?

Generally yes, but there are certain busy weekends when there are no other offers. When the host called me I went to my offers on the Caesars website just to see what was available -- and this was a weekend when there was nothing available.

alan, they are referring to the diamond aspiration 1 trip..(40,000 tier) it was my understanding that SS players who renewed their status didn't get that one, only the aspiration 2 trip and the SS trip.. book it before they realize they screwed up.. lol

Since you were a 7 Star coming into the year, you do not get the Diamond $100 celebration dinner at 15k tier. You get the 5 x $100 7 Star dinners. As you earn tier credits throughout the year, you are entitled to the Diamond Aspiration 1 and 2 benefits. The 4 free nights and $100 dinner are benefits of 40k tier credits (Diamond Aspiration 1). You can use those benefits in conjunction with other offers.

If I was offered Diamond Aspiration 1 did they screw up in my favor? By the way from time to time I get calls from hosts at various properties trying to get me to visit. Could this be a "host offer" and not Diamond Aspiration 1?

I agree with Lucky Lisa. Although I have been 7 Stars for a few years, I still have been able to get and utilize Diamond Aspirations benefits. A couple of months ago I used the Diamond Aspirations 2 $750 airfare to visit family.

I think they're a joke in the first place. I played for said establishment for 12 years and remained a diamond. I recently started playing at another casino and not only got better free play but am at top tier level in less than a year STILL playing quarters, sometimes a $1 on penny machines. In other words, the same as seven stars at the other casino. I don't pay much attention to this but was waiting in line for a problem with a dining offer when a casino host showed and told me NEVER to wait in line again and to come see him with ANY problem. When I looked at the tier levels, I could hardly believe it.

I'm sure a 7 Star is entitled to Diamond Aspiration 1 and 2 benefits (when you hit the 40k and 80k tier credits. I used the Diamond Aspiration 1 and 2 benefits both last year and this year (I am 7 Stars).

If you made 7 Stars for the first time this year, you would get both the Diamond $100 celebration dinner( at 15k) AND the 5 x $100 7 Star dinners.

Sling you're preaching to the blind, deaf & dumb. Most of these folks are so addicted to Total Rewards that they will never quite get it. They play for tier points, reward credits, slot club status, and they slobber over CET casino hosts. It's beyond belief, really.

I don't play for tier points. Nor do I play for reward credits or for slot club status. My host at Caesars, however, is a very hot young woman but I don't want to go there right now in this thread.

While I don't play for TR benefits, I do accept them -- especially the additional comps that might include show tickets, shopping sprees and of course free play and food comps. Why spend your own money when just by inserting your card in a machine or handing a card to a floorman you can get them without charge?

I'm afraid that Rob thinks that everyone who takes advantage of TR is addicted or has a gambling problem or loses. He fails to understand that there are benefits that can be used wisely at no additional cost. And sometimes can be the icing on the cake of a winning trip.

There is a difference between playing the system and letting the system play you. If you don't play a penny more than you otherwise would, and accept the benefits for such play, what's wrong with that.

In my world-horse racing-I no longer play at the racetrack because, believe it or not, the racetrack (not in all states) takes a small piece of every winning bet. So not only does the track have nothing to offer in comps or other freebies, they take a small cut on all winners.

So I took my play to what is called a rebate shop, where I get full track odds, and a % back (varies track to track and type of wager but let's say 4% average) on all my losing bets. I won't go into specifics but over 12 months of betting, that 4% is huge. Yes there is a temptation to bet more because in the eyes of an AP it is probably a positive play. But I have never used it as an excuse to bet more. In fact, there are some wagers and tracks that rebate as much as 13-15%, yet they are not my tracks and I have never played them despite the large rebate and it certainly being a positive play.

Rob----you are not wrong in theory but not everyone is a degenerate.

Alan, think about where the vast majority of your play has been since I've known you. While CET is lacking in many areas, one thing they know how to do expertly is addict players to their TR system. And it wouldn't be bad at all if they haven't slowly deteriorated the program year after year after year. Gamblers who want even a slight opportunity to be successful need to be capable of adapting & adjusting without offering up every excuse in the book as to why they hang around. When someone don't leave a bad situation, they have a problem. Divorces happen; why can't people see this?

Regnis, it's not at all that everyone who continually goes goo-goo over TR is a degenerate. It's that they simply just don't learn, no matter how often and how much CET makes fools out of them (although it looks like Alan finally has, so maybe the rest eventually will too)

Question about the Diamond aspirations: the Caesars website says there are two bonuses of 5,000 tier points each. Are they automatically added to your account or do you have to request from Total Rewards? That will save you $100,000 of coin-in for 7 Stars or even the first 7 Stars Experience.

They are automatically added to your account January 2016.

I was 7 Stars in 2014. Was there a 10,000 point bonus added to my account this past January 2015?
