Thread: All or Nothing

You can almost hear the crying way out here in the snow covered tundra.

Sorry chump, your lies and fantasies about my life are just that ... fantasies. Kind of like your claims of big houses and big wins. Now, everyone can see you for who you really are. Not a pretty picture.

Bottom line arci....bottom line. For instance, aside from your new and desperate denials, Cindy & I are momentarily going out for an enjoyable dinner and to see Side Effects, while you my poor friend are doing what--making sure you have a good supply of straws?

    Chin up buddy!

What pound ball do you hurl there, Arc? You might be the favorite.

"He who excuses himself accuses himself" ... Your constant attempts to make it look like you're living a great life do indeed make it obvious you are in misery. These old idioms have a whole lot of truth in them. Add them to your many lies and one can only go with the flow.

I do love the constant projection. Do indeed try to keep your "chin up".

That's weak arci. Now you look for QUOTES?

Great life? Well, when you plan for something and it all works out, sure, it's satisfying. Now, when you let a habit get out of hand and end up unexpectedly paying the steep price, well, let's just look at it this way: You swear by the math, yet you've become obsessed with me because I'm the one who, to you, has inexplicably beaten it in an activity you, along with Lenny Fromm, Wizard, and others, have been unable to. Then there's this: In our lives, 1+1+2. Cindy & Rob aren't extraordinary people, but we're happy, healthy, and doing exactly what we want and when. Then there's arci and the missus. Here, unfortunately, 1+1= just 1.5, and I do have to say, after watching all your conflict & anger play out in the form of lie after lie on the Internet for these years, you're getting exactly what you deserve. So how'd THAT math work out for ya Remember--what goes around always does come around, and in such a righteous way. You are the poster boy for that "idiom"

Now for the real stuff. Alan, I'm going back into the casino on Wed. to see, hopefully, if I can end my quad drought. I'll play 2000 quarters on 7/5 TBP+. As soon as I hit one I'll leave, ahead or behind. Notice how the game is a very "negative EV" game. But does that matter? Of course not, because my loss goal is $500 (or as soon as I hit a quad) and my win goal is whatever it is if I"m ahead if hit a quad. All that math nonsense is just that: nonsense, because I just don't think I'll be playing 5 million hands on that day!

We're leaving in about 20 minutes for a drive over to Sacramento to see a former co-worker of my wife's and her new grandson. This lady tells me that she's a video poker fanatic who, unbeknownst to Cindy or I during all the years they worked together at Honeywell, she went to the Indian casinos around Phoenix at least twice a week (her husband owned a flooring business which may have helped). So here's one of those many many players who doesn't look up vp info on the Internet, doesn't care in the least or even know anything about gambling forums, when I mentioned practice software she had no idea what I was talking about, she's never heard of Jean Scott, Bob Dancer, arci!, or even Rob Singer, and she says she "kills it". So after talking to her yesterday she wants me to go to one of the (yuk) local Indian casinos aroud that area, and she says there's quite a few. I'm told I have to do it. But what's interesting about this is this lady is what the majority of people were who I trained over the years after they contacted me, and the way they got ahold of me was thru my website which they saw in Gaming Today. It is very true that the vast majority of players are like this lady. They become familiar with the game of poker, then they sit down and gamble at the poker machines. They don't need the experts because they play for fun. They don't need to know what the math means because that would SPOIL their fun. And they CERTAINLY don't need a geek like arci insulting and scolding them just because they don't see things his anal & obsessed ways. I don't know if she really wins or not--probably not--but she enjoys herself. I'm betting that even my advice will irritate her. But there are a lot more of "her" than "me".

Rob, your comment about the lady who is a video poker fanatic reminded me of something I observed at Rincon several months back. A lady sitting next to me playing a deuces game (I don't know what game, exactly) was dealt a royal with a single deuce. And her friend sitting next to her said "go for the royal, go for the royal." And they say there for about a minute contemplating whether to drop the deuce and go for the natural royal. They were playing $1/coin. So I think the choice ws $125 or to go for $4,000.

If I recall (and I am not a DW player) you never drop a deuce and if dealt a royal with deuces you hold the royal with deuces. But for about a minute they were in a heated discussion with the friend saying "sometimes you have to go for it." In the end, the player held her wild royal which I believe is proper strategy and $125 in the hand -- and giving up $4,000 in the bush.

I think most players are aware of the "right way" to play video poker. I think greed gets in the way of making the right decisions sometimes.

I don't think you play deuces Rob, but how would you have played the hand?

By the way Rob, I think it's funny that you have become obsessed with getting a quad even after hitting three royals in short order. Heck -- I would gladly give up getting quads if I could hit three royals in short order.

Alan, I used to play a 3-play progressive NSUD game. While you're right that the normal play is to keep the 125 credits, there were times when the progressives got high that the proper play was to drop the deuce. I did it a few times but never hit the RF.

Also consider that some deuces games only pay 100 credits for a wild royal. In that case dropping the deuce could be correct (depending on other pay table settings).

Poor Robbie ... you could tell by his long, rambling post that he has lost his cool. Note that he lies about me over and over again. His frustration level is obviously through the roof.

Why would anyone play a "very negative EV game" unless somebody put a gun to their head? Arci, have you kidnapped Rob? Do you have a gun to his head?

For all we know Rob isn't even in Nevada. Take anything he says with great trepidation.

This fits Rob's strategy about going for quads, and it fits in with his goal for this particular session. He wants to hit quads and leave. I guess he is looking to "break the curse," so why not break the curse with a game that pays more for certain quads.

As we have all been told before by Rob, he can come out ahead even on a poor pay table, but he has said he will play the best pay table available. I wonder if in the case of the Indian casino he is going to be at if 7/5 on this particular game is the best that there is?

And yes, Arc, Rob will certainly not be in Nevada on this gambling junket. Sacramento is in California.

Alan, we returned today and I have a picture that I've just e-mailed you to post. I did try and I want to be able to post other pics, but I just can't find that post where you explained how to do it here. Please put it up again. I've not read anything but the post above on this page, and it's theme is funny. Man that guy misses me, if only for a day and a half! I think he should go bowling when I'm away. I mean, how often do you see a video of a 70 yr. old toss a 300 game? At least it fills in some of that awful down time he has on his hands, and the drive to and from might even remind him of the days he used to drive to other than to the same local casino and the bowling alley for kicks

Last evening my wife's friend demanded I go to a place called Thunder Valley Casino with her. I brought her a copy of each of my books and she looked at me as some sort of video poker king (which I MAY be: just ask arci ) It was a bit of a trip north of the city but she likes it best and from what I saw, it was probably the best one in the area. So we sat at a favorite of hers, triple play 50c DDB that had a 6/5 paytable, and although she had at least five quads, one dealt, she lost $500 by the time she had enough. She wasn't interested in me teaching her anything--she said I could show her when I picked a game to play after she had her shot.

So it was my turn. All the paytables I saw were not great, so I chose a dollar 9/6 TDB machine, something I rarely if ever play. It was for sure she never did because she immediately scoffed at only getting 10 credits for trips and called it the biggest loser game in the casino. But I put in $400, and after losing 105 credits my quad drought was over. I won't say what I got, but hopefully Alan can put up the picture I emailed him here. My play was also over, which I hope was a lesson to her. She did not want me to quit but I did, and eventually we went back to her & her husband's large home where we were staying the night. Now instead of sending Alan the actual picture of my win, I could have easily put the money I won along with the cash I took, thru the machine, cashed out and TITO printed it, then snapped a picture of that, saying I won thousands more than I did. But how honest, or desperate, is that trick?

Are those even real?....and I'd like to hear the story from the "tested genius" on how he was suddenly "allowed" to take pictures in the casino when he previously claimed "hey guys, they don't let me do dat"!...so here, let me show you my TITO's" Couldn't do that this time, hey my friend--not after I proved you were lying!

Anyway, I went to Fandango last hour with $500 to play quarters because I don't consider my quad drought REALLY snapped since it came at an Indian joint in Calif. So I chose to save time and play 25c triple play. And guess what--still no quads, but I only played ten minutes and hit a bottom line royal. I sent the picture to Alan for posting.

Sorry for stealing your thunder again arci. It's all part of the math. After all, 1+1 really SHOULD equal 2

Now THAT'S a game for special plays!

Arc, I tried to enter these URLs so the photos would appear in the thread but I couldn't and I think it's because the URLs are "secure." Please explain the hands you have and the payoffs. Thanks

I only got one photo from you -- quad deuces with a kicker which I posted. There is no photo of a triple play royal??

As I previously stated it was about 2 years ago they said "no pictures". So, I decided to try it again just to make you happy. It was early in the morning this time so it's possible no one was paying any attention.

Just a royal flush (held the JT) and a wild royal flush (drew the ace). The wilds occur about every 3700 hands on average so they are not all that unusual. The payout of 1000 credits is one of the key hands on OEJs. I had play 2.5 hours yesterday before hitting any premium hand. I had $1800 in at that time. I then hit the wild, the royal, a 5oak and 7 SFs in the next 2.5 hours. Overall I came out just $4140K ahead.

The machine graphics may look unusual because it is not an IGT machine. This particular brand of OEJs is made by Atronic. The machines are 18 years old and may be completely removed next month (current rumor) because of lack of parts. Oh well, it was a great run while it lasted.

There's an interesting side story here. My last RF I held the AKQ of clubs and drew the JT, this time exactly the opposite. My last royal was 4/17/12 so it had been over 10 months (around 200K hands) since my last one. In addition, it had been 8 months between the one before that (8/14/11). I had one RF in about 360K hands over that period of time.

Naturally, Singer is going to claim I had to have lost money over that time period. Nope, I won in both 2011 and 2012.
