Singer has been a pretty substandard liar for most of his life apparently. You can go back to 1986-1987 where he couldn't even report the same amounts of income on his state and federal tax returns. Landing him in hot water for years. It is a life long habitual problem most likely.

Singer clearly stated that he attempted to play video poker as an AP from 1994-2000 but failed, losing over 200k. He then publishes a book in 2000 coming off 6 years of losing and failure, promoting his magical system for beating video poker promoting himself as a "winning professional player".

That means from the very, very beginning, his claims were lies....by his own timeline. Lies for the purpose of misleading and profiting off people in the gambling community. And it has gone on for 20 years. claim after claim, lie after lie.

And anyone along the line that dared challenge these claims endured his personal attacks. Some good people. Arci, many others, including mickeycrimm. Mickey may say it is all water under the bridge, but the fact is mickey was right for all those years challenging Singer as he did, and Singer attacked him mercifully, because Singer couldn't answer mickey or anyone else about his math defying claims.

BoSox, we are both AP's who work hard to play with an advantage. We endure the variance involved, the losing periods, the hostile work environment. Proving that Singer's claims are not true is not a big deal at all. Whatever the story is or if the story is ever revealed I do not think that there will be two members on the site that will even blink an eye. The real question is why did he do it in the first place? They did not take Singer's stories seriously and were never affected at all, plus no one likes threats made. On this forum slingshot readily admits he plays and believes in Singer's progressive wagering system. Luckily for him Slingshot is smart enough not to lose too much money doing so. Dan Druff tells us this site has many lurkers that do not post. Only the forum admin would know that. How many of them have been hurt. What about all the other forums Singer has preached his phony progressive system on, including WoV that had hundreds of members. How many were hurt at these other forums?

Then there is the fact that he wrote a book about this strategy. Why I am guessing sales weren't through the roof, how many were hurt by that. Then beginning a month after the book was published, he wrote a column for Gaming today for 8 years, so he could promote that book and progression system. And while he wrote the column for free, Gaming Today has some readership, so how many were hurt by these phony claims from that? And finally, Singer claims to have privately taught his "system" to a number of people. If he did, you can bet it wasn't for free. They paid him to tech a system that they then lost money on.

Regarding the Double up bug and the Newel stories I never gave them much thought at all. The few times that I did think about them I unconsciously hoped that somehow the stories were true. Rooting for him, as I do like underdogs.

The only things I can come up with from this person's long running claims that may NOT be lies are
1) That he was a losing video poker player from 1994-2000 to the tune of 200k.
2) That he has been married for a long time.


As to #1, that really is the basis for bitterness that everything else that followed has been about.

It's been 20 years since I read it but I don't remember Singer's book being a clinic on using a progressive system. I don't recall the book saying you can make lots of money using a progressive system. I remember it being a diatribe against using optimal strategy. It's been two decades so my memory could be off.
