Thread: Slump buster

  1. #1
I’m sure everyone has they’re go to game. But what is your preferred game of choice when you need to mix it up and try your skills to turn around the night or break a slump?

My preferred game is BJ but when I feel like I need a change of pace or that I am burned out on BJ I always tend to gravitate towards baccarat.

And I know that it doesn’t always make sense but most gamblers are supersitious and I am sure many members have a story to tell.

Hey Gus don't you know this is an AP dominated forum?

  3. #3
I was hoping the APs would bless me by showing me the error in my ways

Hi Gus, the concept of "night" has no meaning for me - or rather my own definition of "night" is one continuous lifelong session. As such, I turn my "night" around by playing only machines left in an advantageous state by casino philanthropists without exception and irrespective of previous results.

    cheers, TP.

If you need to break a slump, whatever that is, I suggest following the advice of a great man:

You were hoping wrong. The "AP's" here all win....mickeycrimm even wins every day he plays. They all appear in anonymous form as well, just so there's no misunderstanding about their prowess. You either take their word for it or the insults will come your way. So when tableplay asserts "night has no meaning to me" he's giving you a chance to take back your denigration of the sacred ap's around here because slumps just don't happen to these expert grinders.

In answer to your question, when my results aren't where I want or expect them to be, I change my game to the game of life. My home and family life along with all my comforts derived from getting into serious gambling only after thoroughly preparing for my family's future, is worth so much more to me than being one of these socially decrepit, no-future casino rats.

Good luck....because good skill alone is not enough.

Well, this may be a Robocchio moment. I leave that to others to decide.

To the extent that I'm an AP, "Rob" was completely wrong in his post above. Historically, I lose about once every six to seven years. I have losing months all of the time. I won the first six weeks this season, then lost three weeks in a row, including one where I got whomped. I then eked out a profit each week since then, but nothing wowza. So I lost in October.

I actually lost six Wise Guys Contest games in a row this season, the first time in 30 years that has ever happened.

I find it very odd, and maybe another echo of projection, that someone who emphasizes the percent of sessions won, which matters not at all to anything, would go after APs for allegedly claiming that they win all of the time. Basically, the thrust of Argentino's video poker claim to fame is that he "wins all the time." Go ahead -- check those 7000 posts. Find some where he says he lost or took a beating.

It must be a projection thing. The video poker player who never reports losing criticizes APs for not reporting when they lose. Very psychotic stuff.

Not so much a Robocchio moment. Pretty much 60 being Sixty.

Redietz, Rob has admitted to losing $57,000+ twice using his system.

  10. #10
Well, that's a revelation. I've never read the post where he admits that he lost 57K twice. Has he actually put that admission into a post here?

I gotta ask -- Rob, is this true? Did you lose 57K twice?

That'll scare away a lot of riff raff.

I would hope they engage in intelligent dialogues, but if not it doesn’t bother me. Let the internet trolls do their thing.

    When?

  14. #14
Yeah, Alan may be referring to a private conversation. I believe "Rob" has admitted to losing somewhere in the 30K range once here, and that was about it. I certainly do not recall any Argentino post admitting to having lost the 57K twice.

  15. #15
I'm sure Rob will see this and comment. I recall him saying he lost $57,000 twice in his years as a professional.

Probably the fifth time I've posted this here after it being on my site and in Gaming Today.

My largest ever loss was $33k. Next largest was $11k. To lose then entire $57k session bankroll would mean losing 2400 credits without ever having a single 40-credit soft profit cash out. Virtually impossible.

    I stand corrected.

Just LIKE you red to make this all about you. I have no idea if you consider yourself an AP or not. All I know about you is you solicited me for money to play your so-called sure-thing sports picks. So given these facts, your explanation seems to be just another one of your confusing stories straight from outer space.

I've always reported losing when it happened--which was about 15% of my sessions--when I wrote my column in GT and kept a weekly cumulative log on my site.

If you're talking about here, I've only posted jackpot pictures of $100k, $50k, $50k, and the $25k net from four jackpots at SP. Although I seldom get to play these days since I retired from being a professional gambler, there's been a few losses and none larger than $2800. But name one poster here who gives ongoing results from their play....REAL play...not the internet forum fantasy a phony attention and relevance-seeker like kew makes up.

Well, off the top of my head, thousands of people saw me lose six consecutive Wise Guys Contest games, so I guess I would say me.

We guys who win love to rant about how bad it was when we lost. I think kewlJ may have quietly mentioned dropping 29K? Did I ever tell you about the time I had this Houston Oilers team at 30-1 to win the AFC? They were in this playoff game against this Buffalo Bills team. Jim Kelly was injured. Some guy named Reich was playing QB for the Bills; I vaguely remembered him from his Maryland days....
