I really don't want this thread to turn into more trolling of MDawg and Rob Singer.
While I have been clear that I don't believe a lot of what MDawg has claimed over the years, I do believe he's a high stakes gambler, and I do believe his story about going to Wizard of Oz and getting a suite.
Anyway, getting back to the topic at hand...
From what I'm reading, everyone seems the like the 300-level center. Section 306 is dead center, with 305 and 307 next to them. The same is true for the 200 and 400 level. As already mentioned, Jason sat in 207, but on the very side of it right next to 206, so he got almost-206 seating for less than half the price. He seemed very pleased with his seats.
Indeed, from my research, the 206-adjacent 207 seats are good, and everyone liked them. I'm just seeing slightly better reviews for the 306/307 area, as everyone is stating that you don't have to look up or down, and therefore it's a more relaxing viewing experience. The 200 level has the advantage of being closer to the flying monkeys, as well as having a much better shot at getting apples (which apparently DO still drop!)
I also noticed that TicketDisaster has an absolutely retarded policy of not letting you buy an odd number of tickets in certain aisle-adjacent seats, as they claim these are "preferred seats", and therefore they don't want singleton seats going unsold. So if you have 3 people and want to sit on the aisle, you're fucked in most cases. Dumb huh?
I'm finding that there are absolutely zero kinds of discounts for Wizard of Oz. No locals discounts, no AAA discounts, no players card discounts (though Venetian will give you free tickets in offers if you play high enough), and no discount code of any kind works.
The third party sellers are MORE expensive than face value, so I don't know why anyone would buy from them, unless they're just stupid. spotlight dot vegas is slightly cheaper (like 4%) if you use one of their coupon codes, but that's probably not even worth it to have to hassle with dealing with them instead of just having tickets direct from the venue.
Tickets are more expensive for certain shows (demand?), and most oddly, certain side sections are only available for certain showings. For example, 8pm shows on weeknights have only sections 205-207, 305-307, and 405-407, but I see other shows with 208, 204, and even 209/203 open. Funny that they don't even make these side sections available for the less popular times -- as if they want to always create artificial demand that it's close to full.
Well, now I know everything I possibly can about Wizard of Oz without having seen it. Still not sure if I'm going. Doesn't sit well with me to have to lay out $170+ per seat for decent tickets to a 45-minute movie from 1939. But I might anyway.
