This proves you are clueless about this. If you were to chart coin flips you would never get anything but a flat line that is +/- one position. TA tells us that the next flip would also be +/- one.
And you thought you were being smart?

Everything has a pattern in life--now or eventually. Everything, random or not, and especially in mathematics where Pi, while never repeating, does exhibit occasional patterns as it goes into the hyper-thousands. To deny random patterns is to admit that you're out of touch with reality.
Alan, I think you just took arci's socks off.
Nobody denied "random patterns." What is being denied is the idea that identifying "random patterns" in the past is of any value going forward. It has no predictive value.
That was the point of mentioning the JB Rhine experiments. Identifying some assumed anomaly in the past data as a pattern was of no value in predicting the future data. The presumed "patterns" didn't show themselves going forward. That is why the phrase, "shyness effect" was coined, as a way to excuse the disappearance of the alleged patterns in future experiments.
We don't know that yet UNLESS you have already charted hundreds or thousands of video poker plays and examined their chart patterns. Have you? I haven't so I don't know.
Weinstein said you could use TA on anything and I want to investigate that. You, Arc and qua have your minds made up.
My mind's not made up. I think there's a good chance some of the vp machines, at some points in time, are rigged to be non-random. So if you can discover some non-random machines, you will have done everyone a great service.
Alan, if you can figure out how to predict random events then you will be richer beyond your wildest dreams. Just think of all the lotteries you will knock off. No casino would be safe from your legendary exploits. Even a card shuffler would be no match for you. Hey, you can even hack into any security system in the world.
Da plane, da plane ...
Not one of you has addressed the question or what charting and TA is about. Everything you have discussed and mentioned has nothing to do with the question or the problem at hand. It's as if I said "how do I prove the sky is blue?" and you say "we know the grass is green."
How about you e-mail this guy and ask him if he thinks you can chart gambling like stocks. By the way I never did mention that
technical analysis isn't particularly successful when it's used for trading compared to broad market averages. Your oftentimes better off with an index fund.
I went back and took a look. In June of 2005 a new poster, aces_hii, showed up. He and Rob were complimentary to each other but bashed everyone else. It was easy to tell that aces_hii was a Singer sockpuppet because he had the same style of bashing that Rob did. On September 11, 2005, a post was made by aces_hii. But it was Rob telling everyone the dates that he would be in Las Vegas. When Rob seen the mistake he made he immediately came with a post telling everyone his account had been terminated and aces_hii loaned him his account. Singer was supposed to be in Arizona and aces_hii was supposed to be on the east coast. Fieldcommand traced both Rob's and aces_hii's messages back to the same IP address. The jig was up.
If you have a yahoo account then you can go to FREEvpFREE, scroll down to Message History on the bottom and click on September 2005 to see it for yourself. Singer had at least two other sockpuppets on FREEvpFREE, bonuspokergod and superquadfullhouseroyalistic.
[QUOTE=Alan Mendelson;33920]And what's wrong with also asking others here on the forum if they have tried or considered it?Nothing wrong with it.
What I understand is that you are throwing out reasons why you think it doesn't work. That's fine. You've given your opinion. I want to see for myself, and I've asked if anyone else has tested it.
You can only test it by charting. Where are the charts? Well, you don't have charts, redietz doesn't have charts, Arc doesn't have charts. So without charts we're back at square one:
I am curious to see if TA can be applied to gambling.
Typical making it up on the go instead of providing absolute proof again. Lets see the proof of who this aces is and who fieldcommand is and prove that he never manipulated any of the messages while you're at it. Arci claims the same lie about others being me all the time. Look what God did to him as his punishment :) which is only one of the reasons why I laugh at him and his destroyed life all the time. CDDENVER was always lying about me also, as was Skip Hughes. Now guess which view of a horse's butt they get to see in action.
It might be good for you if you're an atheist.
I believe these guys had some sensitive spot touched when you asked the question the first time. People who just don't want anything to be because they don't really understand it always go on the offensive by trying to first rub you out by claiming you proclaimed something, and when they realize what fools they're making of themselves they backtrack a bit, and because they can't prove or disprove anything they say, they denigrate.
The only charts these guys have are weight-gain charts, and arci has a special chart that tells him how shiny that oily balding spot on his forehead gets when he sweats it out over my posts.
"A former card counter who's been banned from global blackjack pits and would never play any game where he has no edge, François has worked out a strategy that remains invisible to the casinos."

Investment and banker types have been banned from casinos for winning too much at baccarat. You just have to put in the serious time to figure out how, before heading off to the sirens of the casinos.
In the back of my mind, I have the feeling the casinos hope for players with "paralysis thru analysis".
He claimed to win. The other guy said the casinos loved system players and wanted the first guys action. Of course you'll win following patterns you'll also lose following patterns. As a matter of fact you can get the same effect as that guys system by playing, heads-banker, tails- player on the flip of a magic baccarat coin. Also the writer mentioned the Asian players saying "monkey" I don't think they're saying "monkey" it just sounds like that to us. Asian players say it in all kinds of games. It doesn't have a specific meaning exclusively to baccarat so I wonder how much the writer of this fill in piece of fluff knows about his subject in the first place.
If each session is separate and different, how can any info be suitable for the next session. One example happened to me several months ago. I MISSED a Royal by not holding a suited 10 to an A. I was sick, but moved to the next machine and 4 to a Royal came on the screen and HIT! By analysis, I shouldn't have won 2 Royals side by side- which could have happened.
I always thought "monkey" was actually the word "monarchy" for the "royalty" appearing on face cards. To say "monkey" was to call for a face card. The same way I call for a deuce when I am all in pre-flop and my opponent is drawing with high cards to the river.
I doubt monkey in English is the same word in Chinese. I could be wrong though. I thought they were saying a word or words that sound like mon kee. Face card in blackjack too?
Probably means different things to different people. I'm sure some people say it just for good luck.
Are all Asians are Chinese?
Yes...they are calling for a face card to be dealt because it will win the hand for them...even non-Asians call for the monkey.
A facecard in blackjack to bust the dealer, a facecard in baccarat to add 0 to the hand.
Are you sure that you have any casino experience?
It's hard to believe that you did not know that "monkey" means facecard.
Here are some articles about how the "monkey" means "monarchy" or face card depicting a royal such as a king or queen or jack:

I've always been told that "monkey" is a mispronunciation of the word "monarchy." I think that over the years the word "monkey" has taken on a meaning of its own to mean any face card or ten, regardless of the person's speech or pronunciation. At poker tables where not one player is Asian, players will refer to a ten-card or face card as "monkey."
I frequently use the word in the following context: "poking at and constantly irritating arci is more fun than a barrel of monkees".
Why not use the word for the purpose in which it was intended?
