Kewlj I really have no interest in continuing a discussion with you. You have made claims of having an extraordinary ability and you won't back it up. Have a nice life.

I dont know if you know this as I know you aren't into live poker much, if at all, but Dan is poker pro Todd Witteles.

1-3 people is generally what I am dealing with. Full table naturally makes it more difficult. When I first made the comment (which I had no idea would turn out this controversial, because it is not a new technique), I said "that I try to track multiple tables when I can". That is just another thing that Alan chose to overlook. I also clearly stated that there is one seat at each table (seat 4 at a table to your right and seat 2 at a table to the left that has the potential to block your view of cards. Often if someone is in those seats, I don't both even attempting, although occasionally, just a small shift, still allows a clear sightline. Again, Alan chose to ignore that.
I also clearly said I don't bother with a table that is almost full, because I don't want to go to the trouble of tracking a second table only to have someone jump into the last open seat just as the table becomes ripe. Luckily those critical seats (2 and 4) are generally the least popular seats. Many people have a preference of third base or first base, including card counters for a whole list of reasons. And people that don't have a preference, usually just pick the middle. Seats 2 and 4 are usually the last to fill in.
I am curious about your comment that "most shoes don't go positive". I have never heard that, nor can figure why that would be the case? If you are saying most shoes don't go significantly positive...yes, I get that. But just positive...as in a running count of +1, that should occur about 50%, no?
I have not made claims of extraordinary ability....that's the thing. Many card counters engage in tracking multiple tables.....when they have the opportunity. Nothing new. Nothing all that unique.
But I more than concur....I have no interest in continuing this discussion with you and in all probability any discussion as since I have been here, you have proven to mostly be interested in creating some kind of "gottacha moment" or trap, based on your anti-AP bias.
There Ya go again.... claiming I'm biased against APs. Got something better to throw back at me? I gave you a chance to show me AP-table spotting.
I don't think Alan is biased. After all, he does believe in DI.
Yes, I read that when Dan first posted after the WSoP.
I know zero about nor play poker. I am wondering if a poker player, specifically a professional poker player is considered an AP? Obviously he would be applying any advantage against other players rather than the casino.
I don't know if I have told the story here, of my former roommate "professional" poker player. I moved to Vegas in late 2009 and met him early 2010, as I saw him frequently at a couple of the snack bar type outlets at Rio and on the strip. He was about my age (mid 20's), so one day we struck up conversation and he told me he played poker for a living. Turns out his idea of "for a living" was a bit different than mine. He scored some comped room 2-3 weekday nights at the lower end Evil Empire properties like imperial palace (at the time) or Bally's. The other nights he slept in his car. he also earned enough comps for food at the snack bars.
So I saw him one day in February, when we were experiencing a bit of a cold spell (for Vegas), going down below freezing at night, so I told him he could crash at my condo on the sofa for a couple days. That lasted 7 years....through 3 moves, into my current house, until this past spring, when he finally moved out.
During that 7 years, he rarely had much money. Always waiting for his next big score and always coming off one of those "bad beats" that poker players like to talk about. Occasionally when he went bust, he would work some sort of job for a few weeks or a month. He worked the zip line downtown. He worked the gondola boats at Venetian. He worked the haunted house at Circus Circus.
Definitely not my idea of a professional poker player, or a professional anything. ;)
And I certainly am not implying anything about Dan with this story. I know Dan is a legitimate successful professional poker player.
edit: Oh I almost forgot...my professional poker player of a roommate also sold bottled water on the strip one summer. Actually he made more than $100/day most days. :)
I believe DI is possible but I only know three who I would consider true DIs.
I also believe it doesn't hurt to try DI, just as it doesn't hurt to try card counting if you're not proficient.
It does hurt because you'll have confidence in something you aren't good at. Why do you think poker pros want tables full of fish? It's those fish, who think they're good but really aren't, that subsidize the sharks. Another one is why MGM studios, and YES they stl have an interest in the casinos, helped finance the movie "21." Because they wanted the amateurs with just a bit of knowledge to come in and loser their shirts.
Then jbjb anyone who isn't an expert should not play? I guess if that's how you earn a living you shouldn't play unless you're an expert. But I and others are not earning a living playing and we play for entertainment. So we try to influence dice, we try to count cards, we try to use the best strategy at video poker. And then we have our jobs and our lives outside of casinos.
Alan, you sure want to go through a big elaborate production of setting up a couple of tables of blackjack to prove kewlj wrong. That would be a lot of work. But you can't even open a package for redeitz? Thats no work at all. Very peculiar.
You're right that it's no work to open the package... but I have to get to the office to open the package.
Setting up this test at a dealers school can be done with a phone call. If the school says okay then all I need is get the measurement of the tables including distance and angles which is not a problem. I'm in Vegas for business and to see my girlfriend on a regular basis. So if kewlj wants to show his stuff and when I find a school that will accept my offer of free advertising we can do this.
Right now I haven't even called a school because kewlj says no.
It appears I will be opening the package before kewlj proves his ability.
So mickeycrimm why don't you ask kewlj why he won't show us his skill?
I already know why kewlj will not placate you. Its his livlihood you dumbass. Alan, do you really think he is going to expose his identity to you and a bunch of future dealers? Alan, your elevator doesn't go to the top floor. Jeez, what an idiot.
Then why would he even come on this forum (which IS read by people in the industry) to tell us he can count at two tables? Why would RS__ also say he does it?
Anyone in the business who read this would immediately (if they thought it was a serious threat) talk about counter measures including spreading the tables further apart, or alerting personnel to twisting heads, or changing the angles of the tables.
Being anonymous does not prevent the casino industry from knowing that they have a chink in the armor.
No one really cares about kewlj. But they do care about a fault in their systems or set-up.
You shouldn`t have edited...I thought you said it very well the first time....and absolutely true as well
You're so full of it kew. The only reason you showed up here was to spew your bj bs because wizard etc. put you in your place about all the baloney. Your constant rants of "waaa waaa I'm not gonna engage these people any more" and "look at me! look at me! I'm a PRO!!" expose your stupid, tired agenda. And no, we don't care to keep hearing about your gay "roommates" any more than you care to be reminded of your pre-choice days when being within five feet of a woman, terrified you.
Alan, can you give us the very latest date when you will get to the office and retrieve the package?
If you cannot commit to being there in, say, the next month, can you instruct your associate Tony to just grab it and mail it to you?
Dan I cannot predict when I will get to the office. Even if I wanted to go at this very minute because you would drive me, I couldn't. Tony has the key because it's Tony who owns Axis Media.
There were many times at 3am when I had the time and the urge to see the envelope but Tony has the key. Also it's a secure building that is open to the tenants only during certain hours because the tenants (about ten of them) share certain facilities in the building.
Biloxi care to make a bet on what the hours are for the building and who has a key? By the way, Tony doesn't go into the office every day nor is he there many hours. This business we're in sucks, ya know.
No, Biloxi... we have lives and we're not obsessed with hyperbole.
Can you just ask Tony to grab the package and mail it to you? Why is this so tough?
I'm going to ask redietz one more time: since photos of cover pages and headlines and credits do not violate any copyright law and comes under "free use" will you please post some photos?
Other than the op eds and the National Conference on Gambling and Risk-Taking article, my name isn't on cover pages, headlines, or credits, and certainly headlines and credits don't tell the entire story. And that's what we're after here, isn't it? The entire story, right? The entire story as written by third parties, right?
Since Alan and Rob evidently know the legal ramifications much better than me, I leave it to them to post the contents. Have at it. Rob, I'll be more than happy to share the same material with you. I've offered previously. I just need your home address. Either or both of you are welcome to post it. Make yourselves useful. Shouldn't be a problem, right, guys?
As you continue to weasel out of posting any kind of proof.....
The main reason we want to see you post something credible red is because no one would ever accept something you sent in that isn't publicly available, especially when you refuse to identify yourself. Like I've said, sling is really Larry Bird, and if he sends in copies of all of his past accolades then would you really believe him without absolute proof of identity?
Wise up....and stop dancing around the real issue here. You seem to be in the same sinking boat as that group of hapless "AP's" is in the other thread about their moronic two-tables claims.
So I take it you'll be posting the material, Rob? Thanks a bunch!
Certainly the man-around-town great Rob Singer isn't ascared to post some poor bloke's gambling material, right? I appreciate you volunteering. Hell, you get to read it first and choose what to post. Sweet deal, eh?
If it's your material then you post it, with proof of identity. Or forever be labeled a lying fraud.
LOL -- It seems to me, and correct me if I'm wrong, that you would be the perfect person to read and go over the material with a fine tooth comb. Make sure it's legit. You were in Las Vegas simultaneously with me when much of this was published. You'd know what was true or not, right?
Plus you could check with your LV contacts, call the parties who published the stuff, you know, evaluate everything. Surely no one would do a better job of going over everything carefully than Rob Singer, who has a vested interest in finding a flaw or debunking it.
Then you can report back on everything you found to be incorrect or false.
It makes perfect sense, doesn't it?
More deflecting the fact that you could easily supply proof if your claims were true.
Oh good I can explain this to you again.
It's the INTERNET Alan, and you have no idea of anything anyone says about who they are unless you know them. Look at the load of crap the anonymous kew tried to sell everyone. Red's been deflecting and diverting for a long time on this, and it's raised more than a couple red flags.
The Top Five Reasons Rob Singer Claimed I Wasn't Me:
1) I said I was me and that Rob was completely wrong.
In 5000 posts, I challenge anyone to find one wherein Rob acknowledges that he was wrong. Clearly, Rob is never wrong. That's a kind of natural law. Therefore my saying he was wrong was a clear tip off that I was lying and that I wasn't me. Makes sense now, eh?
2) I skipped periods in my forum name.
I tried to explain that redietz was really a variation of R.E.Dietz, but Rob, who is very knowledgeable regarding punctuation, instantly recognized that the two were not identical and that I was a fraud.
3) I posted a photo of me wearing an Iron Man mask.
Rob realized I was actually Tony Stark, and that my claim to be R.E.Dietz was a fabrication. I can't fault Rob for this, as he is absolutely correct.
4) Homage to Arci and Jerry Logan.
When Rob says someone is a liar and not really who they claim to be and, my God, it's the internet -- everybody lies, he's simply doing an homage to arci's projection theory that most of what Rob says is about himself. I was loathe to buy into arci's simple projection observations, but you know what? The dude was probably spot on.
5) I'm Really Rob.
It's obvious, really, like Jekyll and Hyde. One person sends real stuff vetted by real people. One person speaks in occasional academic syntax and has respect for math. One person tells the truth in polite company. Kind of like Jekyll. The other keeps weird and unsavory things in a storage locker somewhere, doesn't have anything vetted by other people, never uses math in his claims to have conquered a solved game, and sidetracks discussion into rants about gayness or Obama, or his wonderful, perfect lifestyle, but also brags about his familiarity with various brothels. Just like Hyde.
One has 3000 posts. One has 5000 posts. And none of the posts occur at the same time. Creepy, huh? Obviously, we're one and the same, just like Jekyll and Hyde.
I want to thank Jerry Logan for emailing me with this list. He was a great help.
If I'm doing all this to you then I'm getting better results than I thought.
That's right, Alan. Rob, who has a real name, can libel me, defame me, post whatever he wants, but it's about ego.
Now, about you and kewlJ....
Talk about the pot calling the kettle.
redietz you've dug yourself a deep enough hole over this bullshit. I told you all along to ignore what he said. I even warned the forum that he does this intentionally. And you fell for it. Only a big ego would allow you to fall for his crap. Congratulations.
You simply could have told him to fuck off and post your articles and it would have been over. But no... you had to drag it out and drag it out. I hope you had your fun.
You lost me, buddy.
Alan, I find it really curious that in all of your posts, the only reputation you're sensitive about is yours. That, my friend, is ego at its finest.
I have just been corrected. You did veto any reference to Rob being a con man when you owned the forum. So it seems you were sensitive to Rob's reputation.
Redietz this is the private message you forgot to tell everyone about:
No, I mentioned it. I gave a complete rundown of the sequence of events in another post. My summary was completely accurate.
This message came after you had posted the address to which to send the material. Check the time stamp.
There were many private messages at various times. How about this one:
Well Redietz I couldn't make it to the office. Tony opened your envelope. He read your name to me on various photo copies. It's over. I'm out.
