I'm not on many gambling forums, and don't know any blackjack players' names or handles.
If I did, then why would I ask?

Sounds Familiar.
When Player Cards first started to come out some players would break them off in the machine and accumulate that way.
Very Crude compared to your example but still effective.
I have recently seen some machines stuck on a players card with no card in the machine and it never resets.
Odd.
Damn Sharpies!
If you ain't cheating you ain't trying!
So if I got this story straight you befriended this man by pretending to want a mentor sucked him or you had him suck you, filmed it then proceeded to run your extortion play. This ultimately ended in his untimely early death.. sounds familiar

Good Game though... No bets for me so I wanted to see a Game 7.
I wouldn't care who won but I'm happy for the Nordiques.
They were Fucking Dominate for the Whole Playoffs.
I was watching Mike Hammer Episodes during the intermissions and commercials if anyone wanted to know.

Louis Rosenberg thinks he has found a way to make us all a lot smarter. The secret to this superhuman intelligence? Bees.
Rosenberg runs a Silicon Valley startup called Unanimous AI, which has built a tool to support human decision-making by crowdsourcing opinions online. It lets hundreds of participants respond to a question all at once, pooling their collective insight, biases and varying expertise into a single answer.
Since launching in June, Unanimous AI has registered around 50,000 users and answered 230,000 questions. Rosenberg thinks this hybrid human-computer decision-making machine – once dubbed an ‘artificial’ artificial intelligence – could help us tackle some of the world’s toughest questions. What’s more, with advances in AI coming thick and fast, he sees it as a way to put humans back into the loop.
“We can’t stop the development of smarter and smarter artificial intelligences,” he says. “So our alternative is to make ourselves smarter so that we always stay one step ahead.”
You got databased for being a menace. Sexually harassing older men at the table. It has nothing to do with you being a threat. I am curious if these methods of cloning the strip would even work in the short run, forget about the long run. As soon as someone notices that someone else’s card is reading on the machine, they are going to notify the casino. The first thing the player is going to think of is “how long has it been giving someone else credit for my play”? The casino will immediately investigate and find the issue. And it’s not like they don’t know which card to kill, they have the name right there. Then they are obviously going to check the cameras and know what culprit to trespass. So you would have to use someone where that’s all they would do, they couldn’t be involved in other aspects of the multicard operation.
The only option I can see is in the high limit area. You place the cloned card in several high limit machines, the key would be to stay in the high limit area as people play on those machines. As soon as someone notices there name is not displayed, they will notify the casino. When they walk away, you pull the cloned strip, so when the casino personnel return to investigate they see no issue, and there would be no card to kill. If a person plays $100 per spin for an hour at an 8% theoretical- they leave, you then pull the cloned strip. The massive coin in on reel slots makes it’s a good day.
Maybe it’s one of those things you only need it to work once in a while to be successful.
Overall seems like a tough gig, as well as illegal.
Monet, it looks like they're running the Laminate Play (hereon referred to as The LP) I just described - since that is its exact behavior and intent.
The person I encountered who put down the move (demonstrating it to me out of pride of his craft) said he purchased a mag stripe card reader/burner (very handy for a multitude of things I would imagine) - you can fill in the blanks from there. He also told me he was a former black jack dealer and card mechanic. He also tried to angle shoot me by telling me he saw security holding a photo of me (he obviously thought I was a moron to believe such garbage - and maybe I am; but not to the extent to believe that horse shit), since he knew I was vulturing plays and taking away a lot of his revenue and he didn't want me working that shop. Suffice it to say that I am extremely happy I have not encountered him in about 3 years.
If you ever see a guy with a poorly home-made tattoo of an ace on the back of his hand (I forget the hand and the suit, but I think it was spades) - that might be him. Cheaters are fascinating, clever people - but, as you know, they'll throw you under a bus without batting an eye and everything that comes out of their mouth is an angle - it is almost impossible to become friends with people like that.
These things are true, but you might be giving casinos too much credit. Casino employees often take the path of least resistance
I would suspect in many cases a slot tech would just clear out the card reader and move onto his next job instead of starting an investigation that will take hours.
Most places will "abandon" the inserted card after a certain amount of time with no play. This even happens while legitimately playing some games like China Shores and get stuck in a super long bonus round with hundreds of free spins.
That was my point.
I don't understand how they are doing it.
The card reader is locked and never resets or abandons in the machines I have recently seen.
Perhaps a fluke or glitch... perhaps not and it was intentional.
I'm not sure.
Just something I recently have seen.
I've also seen multiple teams running around as fast as they can with ear pieces in and constantly talking to their other teammates or manager.
I can't keep up and don't really want to.
I think it depends.
I think the movie The Sting shows how some cheaters are different compared to others.
I'd team up with Paul and Redford.
Robert Shaw is way too good of an actor to of had to accept the role of the mark.
One of the best poker scenes in movie history...

Some of the most lucrative opportunities I have found involved glitches in player tracking.
Lose rebates combined with dodgy player tracking is a goldmine
Something else I don’t get about this play is how does one stop the process? Like I would not want my card to be reading multiple days if I was doing mail run. I would need it to end sometime that day. The comps you earn are worthless in most palaces these days. Shitty merchandise and two to one conversion.
The LP play would work well in shops that require a certain amount of timed gaming activity to keep offers.
Pop in your LP then go about your day. Still highly illegal and would definitely result in arrest if they catch you

I should note that I was going to skip Avalanche Express but when I ran the preview on AppleTV my uncle got all excited and wanted to watch it.
I read that its a pretty bad movie so instead of buying it for $9.99 I just rented it at $2.99.
Either way I lose but I'll still watch it.
I have 48 hours starting now.
The things being discussed is way above my pay grade. Much of it seems way over the line of legal advantage play into cheating and stealing to me. "Stealing" might be a hard case to win since technically there is no value to free play and that is what is being "stolen".
Whatever anyone's comfort level is in doing this stuff, is it really something that should be being discussed on public, open forum?
BTW, congrats monet. You always wanted all the shady and illegal things being done by AP's to be discussed and acknowledged.

Whereas you live on Fantasy Island.

The guy that showed me the move hasn't been seen in three years (by me at least, I don't know if any one else has seen him)- maybe arrested, maybe not. What's for certain is he told me he had been banned from six casinos in the region (not necessarily for the LP) a couple of which involved "finding" large vouchers and cashing them out.
Speaking of casino cheating. This is one of the best casino cheat moves in my opinion.
Start it at 5 min 14 seconds.
It's called the Savannah.
He pulled it off in the 90's, so cameras weren't as high tech. He tells good stories on Gambling with an Edge.
Bill Zender says it's the best cheat move he has ever seen. Even in his days as a gaming agent.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mT7VK483xXo
The risk vs. reward for the card cloning gig seems very high. There are many cheating moves that a first, even a second offense will get you just a warning, like past posting, if you can make it look like a mistake, and not intentionally done. Something like using a cloned card will be hard to justify if caught. Apparently it must be a fine tuned craft. Or you can pull a DarkOZ and use a realistic looking mask lol.
It can get messy.
We run into some conundrums like is it ok to Cheat a Cheater?
Lie to a Liar?
Steal from a Thief?
Can we take it as far as to say it's ok to Kill a Killer?
etc. etc.
The Remington Steele Pilot is a pretty darn good example of all of this.
Aptly Named: License to Steele (1982)
Maybe the magnetic strip was Praxes advanced machine play lol
Indeed - the guy who showed me the LP at that shop may have felt that it was OK to try and make me think that security had my photo there with the justification being "I am just cheating a cheater". Which is to say Monet, that I may be the type of cheater that I would get along with.
In addition to your nice Remington Steele pilot example, there was the A-team,Mission Impossible, and most recently Leverage (Timothy Hutton) to name a few others.
P.S. What's funny is that Negreanu appears to have patched things up with Polk and Polk has even had him on his podcast as you know.
There was a criminal case against someone that was hacking PINs of player's cards that had been left around at the casino and taking the FP.
The case wound up being dismissed because the specific charge (fraud? I'm not sure) required the thing taken to be something of value, and the casino (an Indian casino iirc) was unwilling to declare that FP had value.
But the reason they were unwilling to declare that it had value had something to do with the state tax law that they were subject to.
My guess is the face value of the FP was tax deductible as a business expense only if it had no value (to the recipient). Then it was a marketing cost. If it had value it was a gift and not tax deductible.
But I'm not sure about the legalities at all, I may have that wrong. There was a case that hinged on this point that perhaps KJ is alluding to.
The other important caveat is it wouldn't necessarily apply in all jurisdictions.
Since they both have 10 and 60 Million in the bank I suppose its easy to turn it on and off at will.
You have to wonder about how much is done for show or staged.
And when you get into it you will find that its rare that these players are using their own money as they have sponsors and side action.
I believe Polk and Ivey will use their Bankroll over what I think Negreanu and Hellmuth would use.
Which brings us to what Ivey did with Baccarat.
Should we classify Ivey as a Cheater and a Liar?
Obviously players like kewlJ does not approve nor would he ever use an advantage like marked cards.
By his standards we are all crazy on this board and should not discuss these real world topics.
Heck, he stated that he stopped playing at certain shops (Circus Circus) because he could see the dealers hole cards.
LOL, Honest Abe.
Great points. Ivey's (and his accomplice's) edge sorting move was fair and square in my book - I would classify him as an advantage player and not a cheat nor a liar. We were told we should not always be trolling one another and move on to more fruitful discussions (I'm paraphrasing here). But then, when Seed Value requested that we get the ball rolling with some real world advantage play discussion, starting it off with his interesting ghost card play (followed by me mentioning a dangerous move, the LP, that someone showed me), it was then decided that we should not be discussing real world topics.
P.S. With regard to cheaters cheating cheaters, you'll recall from one of our previous discussions that this is so common that the Aussies even have a name for someone that robs robbers - a Standover Man.
P.P.S. I'm glad next-hand UX multipliers aren't considered to have value with regard to the law.
Edit:Your Hot Sucker thread and the many times Mickey has provided extremely useful AP info were previous examples of outstanding discussions - I didn't mean to imply that this was first time such discussions have occurred.
Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater...

Yes, Money (sorry typo ) I do think most on this forum are crazy, but that opinion was formed long ago and is not based on this discussion. :D
And no I would not employ marking cards, nor anything illegal, including the things discussed here recently. Why does that bother you so much? You seem obsessed with what I do, would do and am comfortable with.
Back in the day when Griffin, was the only game in town as far as databases, they did not distinguish between cheats and advantage players, playing legally. Reading this thread, I am starting to understand their rationale. And some players that play within the rules and law took offense. Grosjean brought Griffin down because they did not distinguish. I am of that mindset.
I do what I do, mostly blackjack play, for the money first and foremost. I make a living doing it, despite the silly stories being told. Not a fantastic living, but a comfortable living for me. That is what I am in it for. BUT, I also get a very big thrill out knowing everything I do is legal and much more importantly to me, meets my own standards. That is a very big "high" for me.
So, your (monet) standards are different than mine. So what? You don't have to answer to me, you answer to yourself. And I don't think I have ever judged anyone else doing things I wouldn't. Again, that is your call. I have no love lost for the casino industry. I believe they are the most predatory industry I have ever seen, in almost everything they do, every decision they make, including crossing the line of what is legal. So, I am of the mindset they deserve everything any player does, within the rules or not, legal or not. It's just not for me.
So do what you want and stop worrying so much what KewlJ thinks or would do. If you want to march into a casino, guns drawn, hold up the cage and see how far out the front door you can make it...power to you. I'll be rooting for you. I would never do it, but I will be rooting for you.

As If this isn't Cheating or Collusion!?
I'm just taking 20 grand off the table, no big whoop.
Like I say, never go partners at the table in the same game.
Phil should just lend Mike money.
A Loan makes sense but this shit is ridiculous.
And I really don't get it.
From my understanding Mike has 5 to 8 Million and Phil has about 20 Million.
Of course since no players objected they can do whatever they want IMO.
I could have bad information though.
Mike must be broke as shit if Phil has to demand 20 grand on live stream before he leaves the game lol.
How much does Aria pay Phil by the way?
Skip Ahead to about the 11 minute mark.

Mike's entire bankroll IS Phil Hellmuth.

This play my team and I have run multiple times over the years. What makes this particular story different is the play lasted for almost two years. It ended because the lose rebate player ended up getting involved with a host romantically and eventually got caught up in something outside of the casino that would result in her arrest.
I mentioned before I like to use middle age women in my plays. They can get away with things most men couldn’t. It’s almost as tho they are invisible to casinos surveillance. This play first involves losing a large sum of money over a period of months to negotiate a loss rebate. I have found over the years this is best done by playing higher denomination slot machines. Depending on what part of the country you are in this could very from $5 to $100. This particular area anything over $10 per spin was considered a big player. The casino had great mail and plenty of 10k and 5k must hits. Plus they had a certain player tracking system I like.
Most of these plays your flying blind because you don’t really know if the rebate could be negotiated successfully. It’s not like using large sums of front money to negotiate on the front end. This is all done after the casino already has your money. So you need many different things to line up. I’ve spent as much as 6 months trying to get a player over the line to the rebate. The coin in required and lose is pretty substantial up front. Again im not going to give specifics but the range of coin in could be as much as 2 million or as little as 500k. It’s all property specific
To help keep the play break even until we get to the negotiation I combine this play with multi carding. Having 10 and 5k are good for this. As well as games like Ultimate X, and a few others I will not name. This play also involves some slight of hand at the tables, as we are cultivating a complete degenerate player profile. The loss rebate player also needs to have the ability to qualify for a certain level of casino credit. Again I’m not going to get into specific numbers, but the casino needs to believe they have the chance for a big score. These greedy fucks can’t resist a chance to bankrupt someone for their bottom line. You also need one of those cheesy used car salesmen type host. You know the type
