The Adventures of MDawg (in progress)

As far as this HostVIPTables nonsense at WOV that I have been reading about both here and at GF for the past half hour: First Off: Pretty hard to post on the internet when you are driving all day, which is what we have been doing. And I was doing all the driving. So how I could have been posting at WOV all day today, is beyond me.

Anyway, I just logged on and noticed the posts at GF and now here about how some new poster at WOV got me suspended. I am sure that new poster is none other than AxelWolf. He must've read my post early this morning at GF repeating what everyone else already knows about him, that he lives in a tiny run down condo in North Vegas, and went ballistic. Notice how he made himself look bad in a PM that supposedly the new poster sent to TigerWu, which TigerWu is a bud of mine I'd never do anything against him, in an effort to make himself not seem like the originator of the plot.

Why did this "plot" against MDawg hatch, today, of all days? Who had the motive to go ballistic against MDawg today? None other than - AxelWolf.

Like I'm going to create a sock of myself and then make it obvious that I am the sock, to ensure that I get nuked? I had what - a week left until I was unsuspended at WOV?

The Sicilians could read this one with their eyes closed.

I’ve been following along on this thread and find that it’s great reading and very interesting....congrats Mr. Dawg on your tremendous success...a lot of people giving opinions on whether it’s fact or fiction...I myself, hope it’s true....I am neither an AP or super serious gambler. I’m more like Mr Blackhole in that I enjoy going to Vegas, and win, lose or draw, I am going to have fun and willing to pay for it....what I do know to be a fact is that there is NO ONE that is as young as Mr. Dawg claims he is, that buys buildings, is as well off as he says, has a hot wife, and all in all appears to lead a jet set lifestyle, is concerned about showing pictures of cash, watches, etc to impress the likes of Tasha The Chimp et al....just my 2 cents and continued good fortune to you Mr. Dawg

Thanks for the explanation, although one wasn`t really necessary....Yes, I am aware 68% of all people in the U.S. have some sort of internet "presence" (forget where I read that number,maybe L.A.Times?).....I, however, know a great many people that do not, or if they do it`s very infrequent, if at all....I respect the fact that you like to write...I, in fact like to read. Fiction, non-fiction, autobiographies, history, sports....I pretty much devour it all and you are a very entertaining writer to be sure!!.....Like I said before, I am neither endorsing nor refuting your deeds. I believe people are only following him either because they want his pathetic lies to be exposed or because they themselves are dreaming of crushing the casino as he falsely claims and are living vicariously.
I believe if he was writing about one of his trips to a different location or one of his lawyerly activities, if he actually is a lawyer, people trying to read his scribbles couldn't stay awake.

Half Smoke, you've got it all backwards. If MDawg were writing fiction, then maybe it would be his responsibility to keep you awake. But when someone like MDawg dispenses his gambling wisdom, the onus is on the reader to stay awake so as to learn something.

When he holds forth on his winning super strategies; such as pressing bets on streaks, ( he knows when a streak is coming - if the Banker has won 2 in a row it's very likely to be a long Banker streak), betting on what happened last time, quitting when you're ahead and not chasing your losses it becomes quite evident.

It’s warmer than Montana, and they treat the homeless there better than the tax payers. Another alternative would be to break out the tin cup on these forums like Sad-Shack did.

This thread and some of the responses have been pretty revealing.

So, I have expressed my opinion about MDawg's "adventures". I enjoy reading the trip reports and accounts of his Las Vegas visits, seeing pictures of the suits. I have expressed my opinion that he is what would be described as a mini whale or whale jr. And that's what I believe he is. A -EV player, who may have some winning play, but loses in the long-term. Just the kind of player Las Vegas was built on. ;)

With his claims of 40 winning trips in a row, I have given him the benefit of doubt, suggesting he is either exaggerating or experiencing "selective memory", which are pretty common among losing gamblers. It might not even be their intention to deceive...they just remember the good or winning and tend to dismiss and quickly forget the losing. An example would be my grandfather, a life long horse racing guy. Of course he was a huge life time losing player. But when I would ask him how he did over his lifetime, I always got the "about even" reply. My grandfather wasn't out to decisive me. He believed that. His stories were always about the big wins, the trifecta he hit with a 60-1 shot on top....that kind of thing. Because THAT is what he remembers. The losses, quickly vanish from his memory.

AP's focus on the math. We know what is and isn't possible. But every once in a while someone comes along claiming they were able to achieve the impossible, to defy the math. The biggest example on this forum is of course Rob Singer. His claims are not possible by the math. Not to the longterm results that he claims. Rob retorts this by trying to disavow the idea of long-term. He claims in the short term a player can defy expectation and he is right to some degree. But then he claims the player can simply do so again and again and again. This is where he is wrong. (Think roulette. Can you hit black 3 out of 4? Absolutely. Can you hit black 3 out of 4 a thousand times in a row? absolutely not).

So here is the funny part: MDawg comes along, claiming to defy the math on a short term basis (as he has offered no other explanation). So who is the biggest critic, calling him out as a phony? Rob Singer. ;) Apparently Rob can defy the math short-term, but someone else comes along claiming to, can't. ;)

But what it says to me, is that Rob knows how the math works. Most losing, degenerate gamblers do, even if they can't admit it. And because Rob knows, he calls MDawg out as a phony. What is the saying?....takes one to know one. ;)

But what it really says to me is that Rob's whole act is fiction. He thinks he is playing a character, from his anti-math claims right down to his nasty, try to be as dislikeable as possible characteristic. It's fiction and Rob is playing the part of the villain. It's all make believe. ;) How did I do Rob?

Short answer...yes. There is the possibility that MDawg is engaged in some sort of advanced advantage technique that he isn't telling us about or is leaving out. If he were doing something like that it would be understandable that he might leave that out, but it would still fall under deception. The story is simply NOT how it has been presented.

But near as I can tell, he has been pretty evasive about how he is winning....what he is doing that would give him an advantage that would explain his constant winning. Well, I'm technically high risk (62), and most of the people I hang with are older and definitely high risk, so that's a problem. The other thing -- pollen counts in eastern Tennessee this time of year are brutal (top 10 worst places in the country), so it'll be real tough for the next 10 weeks to separate dry cough and sneezing vis-a-vis influenza, murderous pollen, and corona.

ETSU had record-breaking hoops year, and so it ends.

Small businesses, which my friends and I go out of our way to support, especially the local restaurants, are going to get crushed. The university here is staying open but suspending classes for a minimum of three weeks. My expectation is that the students will be told to not come back from spring break.

However, concerning those great comps that I received was only enjoyed by me for a very short time frame (under a year) even though I received this great treatment for years which requires further explaining. After a certain time frame the player realizes you are not getting all of this for free YOU F----- EARNED every cent of it, as you are giving the casino a shot at a lot of your money. Essentially that's when you realize (hopefully quickly) that whatever you are receiving in comps should be expected by you and is no longer overly enjoyed, or a big deal at all. Which evidentially MDawg has not realized this underlining fact, or is a phony as I tend to believe. Why would someone who has been around and knows the ropes, post about luxury comps they are receiving knowing full well that they were all earned anyway. An Ap would have looked at this as just receiving what you are entitled to,(just one positive benefit of doing business) and should be no big deal or have any reason for posting about it.

Here is a man that is averaging a few thousand dollars a hand playing baccarat, anyone think that he cannot afford to pay a few hundred bucks for a dinner? If he is telling the truth what is the big deal of getting a free dinner that he could easily afford to pay for? In reality a free gourmet meal should be an after thought to him. Although having the need to publicize all of this on various gaming boards makes one wonder if he actually fits the profile. Not to mention the need to show pictures of all the fancy watches for whatever purpose is beyond me. I don't believe for an instant he is anything close to what he claims.

Okay the many meals I received was fine as far as that goes but that was insignificant, and a after taught to the very real grinding work that was and is involved in trying to get a small positive edge while putting on some kind of facade that will hopefully allow you to to be welcomed back the next time.

As I type this, I can say definitively that there are VP machines (in a non-Las Vegas shop) on the floor that count points as if they are slots (I will run my card on these since this is a no-heat-for-vulturing shop). Not the best pay tables in the world, but much better than the 85%-90% RTP of slots. I remember you mentioning these sorts of glitches about the Las Vegas market in some of your posts and it is absolutely true in other markets as well and a great way (IMHO) to generate comps and free play on points multiplier days and certain free play promos.

I am a big fan of fiction (in this case winning a lot of money consistently at Baccarat) Redietz - I enjoy Mdawg's pictures of piles of cash, hi-denom chips and expensive watches along with the surrounding narrative, so I hope he will keep posting them. Monet astutely points out the possibility that Mdawg is an expert comps grifter (huge comps and over-rating for near-even play), and that may be (I think it is unlikely, but that does not mean it's not happening that way)- but what is for certain (due to the law of large numbers) is that he is not getting his cash from winning at Baccarat in the long run. Anyway, I think he can now post again at WOV, so I doubt we will see much from him here at VCT. If he wants to post pictures of his wife in a g-string with stilettos on, I won't complain.

I think it would be impossible to prove that he is winning at Baccarat in the long run. The keyword in the rest of your post is "recent". He could selectively omit losing sessions also. In the long run he cannot make money at baccarat playing straight up (edge-shorting or using some other non-standard method is a different matter) because the casino has a 1.4% edge IIRC. If the law of large numbers doesn't exist, then you must figure out how casinos are making money in the long run and staying in business - even after paying all their staff, government fees (taxes, etc.) and property expenses. The betting entity that has the edge will make money in the long run - whether it is the casino who is the entity or the player. Since there is no player edge in Baccarat playing straight-up, then it is the casino which accrues a net profit in the long run. Now there are side-bets such as the Draqon side bet in EZ Baccarat which are countable, but this is not what we're talking about here.
