That's an isolated region for casinos, yes? Is there a definitive directory and/or map of US casinos?
Probably American Casino Guide has the best state maps for locations and thumbnail summaries.
Mickey's a few hours up the road from me. The two Cherokee casinos are maybe an hour apart. The problem with Cherokee is that you almost need a helicopter to get into it in the winter. I saw Billy Idol some years back at Cherokee. It's a big, good-looking place, recently expanded. Not sure how kosher everything is -- Jean Scott had some interesting experiences there that you can look up at LVA. Todd visited Cherokee a time or two also.
If Mickey wants to help with my tracking down the people Rob.Singer said called him while allegedly working for me, that can be arranged. If mickey drops in, we can go down to my bank's notary and I'll sign some affidavits in his presence. Regarding my late wife and Rob.Singer's allegations on this forum, mickey and I could also visit the funeral home that handled her burial, and we could straighten things out regarding Rob.Singer's claims.
I'm sure mickey would want to get the facts straight and out there for the public, as he is a stand-up guy.
I love this thread by Mickeycrimm. One of my favorite discussion and threads by him. Beside just pictures of the outsides of casinos (and sometimes his rooms) I would love to read about some of his plays and experiences at different casinos, but understand why he can't and doesn't do so.
I also would like to see some pictures of his travels around the U.S. unrelated to the casinos that he is visiting. Just some pictures of the good old USA and special and not so special places.
I have thought about taking a blackjack trip around the country, maybe 3, 4, 5 months driving to and visiting some out of the way casinos and seeing parts of the country that I don't normally see. It would be a great way to escape Summer in Vegas. :)
But I am not sure a trip involving blackjack play is realistic. Many casinos are too small, I wouldn't know their tolerance or comfort levels and with Databases any mistakes or issue, might cost me more than it would be worth.
Anyway, just wanted to tell you mickey, how much I enjoy this thread and hope you enjoy your travels.
By far the best part of this thread is from page 2 through till 9. It went from Excellent to Very Good, after the biggest no namer with over 1000 posts in forum history whined about Rob. Congrats to Quahaug, for being so irrelevant and easily forgettable after a sizeable 1071 posts.
Quahaug even defeats Herr Dieter on the no namer wall of shame, prior to his Rusty's house Dicktatorship.
Right. A few years back, she went there and then announced she would not be returning, without going into details. The only thing she did mention, which I found odd because I experienced the same thing a year or two before her report, was how so many buttons on the vp machines were "sticky." If you go back far enough in her blog, you'll find that initial series of entries. Then, as time passed, she decided the offers were good enough for her to go back. When she announced this, she did not go into the why she said she would not in the first place.
So that part of her change-of-mind is a mystery. I did not ask her directly why.
I recall (maybe incorrectly), but I had the sense she got clobbered at the far end of the bell curve. She didn't report specific wins or losses for the trip in question, which I thought was odd. I was paying attention because of the "sticky buttons" comment, which stood out to me because the place is spic and span otherwise. It's really nice -- reminds me of Pechanga without the high-end lobby. Anyway, that was my sense of it.
I honestly have not played enough there to have any opinion, although I do have a healthy respect for the fact that Native American casinos could rob you blind and really, nobody is going to know. I've read some of the tribal papers, and make no mistake, they are their own nation.
Todd (Dan Druff) went to Cherokee once or twice in the last couple of years and I assume played a fair amount. He might have some insights.
Really, Really bad, seemingly unusual results, over a short period of time can play tricks on even the most experienced player, even someone as experienced as Jean Scott. You start thinking all kinds of stuff. And especially if you go into that session or trip having had seemingly unusually bad results before, or have read accounts or heard rumors from other players about that location. I have had it happen to me as recently as 2020, when after the covid shutdown I got clobbered at one casino for 30k in about 5 short sessions of blackjack play.
But when you step back, take a breath and run some software you usually realize that it was in fact just that really bad side of the bell curve. Anyone who plays enough, will at some point find themselves there. This is what it means to be a professional or as I sometimes say "professional level" (if not actually living off your play) player. You figure this out.
And it is perfectly alright to vent publicly which sounds like Jean Scott might have done. That is why I try to give some BJ players that vent publicly a little leeway (zenking). It is perfectly ok, but do yourself (and the rest of us) a favor and figure it out and learn from it.
I've played video poker extensively (vulturing UX multipliers in both environments for the most part) in both regulated (Nevada) and unregulated (Indian) environments. I think I make and have made the correct holds in both environments. I've made money in both environments (net up), but have made proportionately more money in regulated environments (taking into account bet size and action). Anyhow, here is an excerpt from http://www.cgcc.ca.gov/?pageID=complaints (I've posted this before but it bears repeating). Feel free to draw some conclusions (kind of like complaining to the FTC about a brokerage where they tell you to take up the complaint with the brokerage and forward your complaint to the brokerage).
P.S. like many others, I love your Road Pics thread Mickey - I think I will limit my non-subject matter posts in this thread moving forward.
I hope this Jean Scott discussion isn't too much of a hijack. Playing on the road typically involves heavy doses of tribal casinos.
Now I understand the inference was rigged games. I naively assumed otherwise because I doubted she could accumulate sufficient data as an occasional visitor. Personally, I don't trust my perceptions at all. I'm hyper-aware of "bad" anomalies, while good anomalies slip through unnoticed.
But most gamblers aren't aware of their biases. Whatever the actual amount of riggage, public perception is higher. And whereas I don't want to play a rigged game, for them it's an invitation to be more creative. They can deviate from optimal strategy and play their hunches because the actual odds are unknown.
Say, Mr. "Don Perignom:" do you have a relative named "Don Perignon?"
He's a bubbly Frenchman.
I was in North Carolina last October and took the pics. Just posted them.
Comrade, this is a troll forum frequented by people who are strangers to each other in real life. You and Rob troll each other. Did Rob troll you about some dead wife? How long ago was that? How the hell would Rob know if you ever had a wife? How the hell would Rob really know you aren't someone's housewife? How the hell would Rob know if you are male or female? How the hell would Rob know you ain't Tasha?
Is he supposed to take your word for everything? Do you take everyone's word for everything?
Remember what that MacBeth guy said....you protest to much.
Harrah's Cherokee was the last place Jean and Brad "worked." Although not that good a play in my book. But to each his own. She quit Cherokee when they moved the $5 NSUD from $10 per tier credit to $25 per tier credit. NSUD is a 99.73% game and they were put in the position of having to run two and a half times more action to get the same amount of comps. So they called it quits.
What brought her back? I just took a look at Cherokee on VPfree2. They still have the $5 NSUD out on the floor at $25 per tier credit. But they have a new high limit room with $5 NSUD and it's only $10 per tier credit. I suspect that has something to do with her going back.

Were you to embark on such a trip today I wonder if you would run afoul of such things if you were continuously wearing a face mask?
Can the identity of players wearing masks be determined by facial recognition software?
If not, what risk is there?
You screw up, then you leave, with the pit boss wondering "Who was that masked man?"
Harrington, Delaware
One of 3 casinos in DE, at least the last I checked when I lived up there. All connected to a Horse Track originally.
Dover, Harrington and Delaware Park
They were doing huge business a few years back when they became the only place to bet sports outside of NV. Due to the laws they were only able to offer parlays, but that wouldn’t have mattered to some. Had to say it.😀
I took the east coast trip last October at prime fall foliage time. I called it my fall colors tour. Besides the casinos I had relatives in Maine to visit and genealogical sites of 18th century ancestors in Virginia and South Carolina.
I hit the casinos in Illiinois, Indiana, Ohio, a casino in southern West Virginia, Cherokee and Murphy, North Carolina, the casinos in Delaware, spent the night in Atlantic City, then the Maryland casinos, the New York casinos, veered up thru Vermont and New Hampshire into Maine which had two casinos.
On the return trip I hit the Massachusetts casinos, Rhode Island casinos, Connecticut casinos, drove the Bronx Expressway, then the Pennsylvania Turnpike, hit one of Mission146's casinos in Northern West Virginia, then down thru the Cumberland Gap and west to Oklahoma.
Best fall colors by far, were in Vermont. I have plenty of casino marquee pics to post but dont' want to do it all at once.
Hit some jackpots today. This one here I work for freeplay. Besides this one I also hit a $1350 handpay but forgot to get a pic.
Then I moved to a different casino that I get 4 free nights in the hotel per month. Their freeplay don't amount to a hill of beans but this casino puts me smack dab in the middle of a cluster of casinos so I take the room comp.
But at this casino I always struggle to get enough wager in on positive situations to keep the room comp coming. Surprisingly, it doesn't take much wager. About 6K per two night stay to keep it going. So I take every little scrap of a play, even play with very low edges to get the wager in. I took this very thin edge play after playing off everything else. It was the only thing left then it was up to the room.
I got outhouse lucky. I hit the top line jackpot. The meter runs .25%, starts at 10K and was at $22,186 when I hit it. That means it got almost 5 million in action before it hit. I've never received a payoff of over 44,000 for 1 before.

I just seen the Gun lake photo and assumed we were going to get a gunplay joke
First gas I've seen under $4 in quite awhile:

Not I. I do not have a Twitter account.
The Beartooth Highway opened way late this year, July 29, because that perfect storm over Yellowstone in June caused flooding northwest of the Park. The Yellowstone River and tributaries flooded. That pic was taken in early July. But I only made it about another 6 miles to where the road was blocked. I knew I couldn't get to Cooke City but I thought I would be able to go further on the road than I did. I had to turn around.
So when they announced the Beartooth was opening on July 29 I was southeast of the park. I went up thru Cody, Wyoming and took the Chief Joseph Highway to Cooke City. I passed the turnoff to the Beartooth on the way. From Cooke City I doubled back to the Beartooth and ran it all the way to Red Lodge, Montana.
On the north end of the road close to Red Lodge the creek there, Rock Creek, had flooded out half dozen places in the road as I could see the repair work. And Red Lodge had some flooding too.
I have film I'll be putting up but pics don't do it justice.
Charles Kuralt was right. The Beartooth is the most scenic drive in America. Everyone should put the Chief Joseph Highway and the Beartooth Highway on their bucket list.
Mickey, as a road runner you must put a lot of miles on your vehicle as you travel the country.
High miles plus increased cost of gas equals less profit?
I recently drove the Chief Joseph and Beartooth Highways which run just to the northeast of Yellowstone Park. Very scenic drive. Everyone should put those highways on their bucket list.

Taylor Sheridan uses a lot of Montana names and places in the TV series. There is a little town north of Great Falls on I-15 named Dutton, Montana, population 300. The town was named for a Northern Railroad agent named Charles Dutton. I'm sure that's where Taylor Sheridan got the Dutton name.
Been 4 months since I posted any videos in this thread. I put them up on Twitter but forgot to put them up here:

I knew where this was as soon as I saw the walking path near the casino. IIRC there's also an old car graveyard with a bunch of the same make and model pre-'50s. I'll see if I can find some pictures.
I spent quite a bit of time there at the beginning of the pandemic. I even got to spend a bunch of time fishing the streams and rivers.
Oregon is a beautiful place.
Unfortunately, the fishing sucked around Spirit Mountain Casino. I only caught a few after going to multiple rivers and streams with over 25 hours. I think it's too far from the coast.
Portland used to be a very nice place until they allowed all the homeless people to do whatever they want.
Still the best thread on this site.
How do you decide to take time off and smell the roses doing things like fishing? Do you bother getting fishing licenses in all the states you fish? I wouldn't care if you didn't get a license for each state considering it is just a gamble.
Good question. Yes, I actually do get a fishing license in each state. They usually run $50 to $150 depending on the state, it's more expensive for non-residents.
I spent so much time in Oregon because there was good play, but most of the time it only took a few hours a day for some weeks.
Whenever I plan a Vacation, I usually include fishing as part of my vacation. Truth be told, I don't fish anywhere near the amount of time I should, considering how much I enjoy it. Oregon was a special case. I would be lucky if I averaged 1 fishing trip a year.
If I lived in a place that had beautiful streams and rivers I'd probably be out fishing, and hiking 20 hours a week or more. I would spend time Camping as well.
I can't seem to post pictures here (Am I doing something wrong? I did the required steps)

I watch a lot of fishing videos on YouTube; we have huge fish (sturgeon) in the Pac NW, but I had no idea that they pulled eight foot long freshwater fish out of the rivers and streams of Texas.
Check this out to see it happen...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOpwlo7Lmjo
The videos in posts #705 and #706 were taken inside Glacier Park last October on the last day before they closed Logan Pass. I came in on the east side from St. Mary's. Ran into fog at the top of the pass so couldn't film the top or the west slope.
The pic in #716 was the view out of my hotel room at Cactus Pete's in Jackpot last fall.
