How do you use your cash back? Is it returned to your gaming budget or used for non casino purposes?
I use freeplay on short term advantage plays to capture all the value. I don't get cashback anymore.
What do you mean by "cash back?"
Is that free play, or perhaps accrued points that can be used either for food, lodging, merchandise or cashed in?
Use what ever you get the most value per dollar for.
If you can take $1 cash for $1 of cash back take it.
It is a vague question. Need all the facts of what it can be redeemed for and at what conversion rate.
You shouldn't be gambling and earning any "cash back" if you owe money to your family members. But If you do, you should use your "cash back" to pay off your debts to family members.

LOL. I'm paraphrasing an old line (that I love) here. What do I do with cashback?
Well, I use a third of it to test Argentino's ARTT (close cousin to LGBT) methodology. I use a third to test stop losses and win goals.
The rest I waste.
Cash back is cash back. There is no conversion rate. If a casino says you get $25 for your play that day you get $25.
You really don't know what cash back is?
It is not free play. It is not match play. It is not a loss rebate. You get it win or lose.
I've gotten offers like that - they're rare but they were actual cash. Scan card at kiosk, get slip, take slip to cage with ID, cage hands you cash. Sometimes the offers were straight cash, other times they were cash or free play you choose. They were usually specific day and time period specific at local-type casinos 100s of miles away from my home address but in areas where I'd traveled and got on their radar for offers. Sometimes I would stay and play my FP and then maybe use some of the cash, other times I took the cash and just left with it and didn't even play my FP - depended really on what I was up to that day. But if I was in the area and had one of those offers I went and got the cash.
It used to be that you got a voucher for cashback from the player's club and cashed it at the cage. That was cashback. But every casino I know of has converted to freeplay. The money that accrues on your card is not cashback. You have to run it through at least once on a machine.
But there are probably some still around that give cashback. Alan, what casinos are giving you cashback instead of freeplay?
Four queens still has actual cash back and then comp separate, no free play except for the offers. The D was that way until sometime in the last year when they combined players club with GG.
Stations does cash back.
At least for machines I thought stations it was all accumulated same place and you can use it for any of the three you want, didn’t think they accumulated in separate buckets as Alan’s post seems to imply.
For all the purported "knowledge" depicted by the know-it-all ap's around here, you'd expect a more smooth-flowing fountain of information.
I understand mickey not really knowing much about the topic because vpfree is mired in a month-long shock over the business changes (ie, belt-tightening cutbacks in the slot club freebie dept.) at Boyd's, and there hasn't been a lot of cash back info to plagiarize lately.
Simple answer: there's plenty of casinos that still offer cash back around Nevada, and you people should be ashamed that you don't really know that. Mr.V also claims he can't follow Alan's poll purpose, which isn't surprising given he still wishes libtards ran the country.
I needed to have the term "cash back" defined / explained, as it is not something I personally have come across in my casino play.
Casinos send me offers for free play, and I can cash in my comp points, but they never offer something specifically called "cash back."
As for who should run the country: I'm not in much of a position to say as I ALWAYS vote for the Libertarian candidate for every election where one is on the ticket.
Caesars used to have CASH BACK until about ten years ago. I'm very surprised that our gaming experts don't know what it is even if they don't currently see it at a casino now.
Here's a shock: BOYD ALSO ALLOWS YOU TO TAKE COMP POINTS AS CASH BACK.
Damn, you guys need to step into a casino.
I knew about that, but not this:
"Cash back is cash back. There is no conversion rate. If a casino says you get $25 for your play that day you get $25.
You really don't know what cash back is?
It is not free play. It is not match play. It is not a loss rebate. You get it win or lose. "
In fact I still don't know what you are talking about, unless it is money they pay you just to show up, independent of points / comps.
V are you for real? Every grandma who sits at a penny slot machine knows exactly what the term cash back means.
The Boyd system is the same as Stations. You play, you get points, you can use the points for free play or for dining or for CASH BACK. And you experts don't know this?
Stop being a douche, alan.
I asked earlier whether it was "accrued points that can be used either for food, lodging, merchandise or cashed in."
Instead of getting lost in your private reverie and spinning more bullshit you should have said "Yeah, that's it" instead of
"Cash back is cash back. There is no conversion rate. If a casino says you get $25 for your play that day you get $25. You really don't know what cash back is? It is not free play. It is not match play. It is not a loss rebate. You get it win or lose. "
That is vintage mendelsonian gobbly-gook, designed to obfuscate, confuse, and spin.
FWIW, I redeem my acrrued points for food, I've never needed to cash them in (it's nice not to be broke and addicted).
Cash back is cash back. It's source doesn't matter. The question asked was simple: do you use it for gaming or for non gaming.
Your "questions" make it clear you're just continuing to troll me as you have for the past 15+ years.
And you don’t jackass until you pay your kid back.
Alan, honestly how do live with yourself knowing he has to read about you gambling all the time?
What Axel posted above was probably the best suggestion even on this or any other gambling forum.
The first part is admitting you have a problem Alan.
Stop shoving it down your son’s throat all the time.
Due to the 40% food discount at Boyd, I tend to keep the points and use them for food when guests are in town. I believe the 40% discount, a decade ago, was not an every day thing, but now it is. Unless it's also been adjusted for the new comp system.
I still have a couple of hundred bucks in Boyd and Stations points, which I will try to zero out in December.
V not only do I "take it" but I laugh it off. You're a troll.
I'm a recreational gambler with a sensitive bullshit meter.
You set it off repeatedly.
I don't really think V's trolling you Alan. I really don't believe he's that much in-tune with what goes on in casinos. You confused him with level A lingo when he doesn't seem to be anywhere near it.
Where I'm confused is with all this talk about Alan supposedly not paying Jason for some work--what is it, $40k or something? People seem to keep bringing it up whenever Alan irritates them about something else. I've never read all the details about this alleged stiff job, but I've met them both, and it would very much surprise me if there wasn't something very key here that isn't being released.
This thing about Alan pouring his pensions and SS into the poker machines at the beginning of each month so he can't pay this bill doesn't hold water either. Most of you "AP's" (and strugglers like redietz) who collect food stamps, medicaid, & govt assistance while you waste your time away either in or dreaming about being in casinos, can't relate. But where Alan's worked in his career---they not only have pension plans, they have 401k plans and over the years until you're old enough to start withdrawing, they add up to far more than you people even lie about knowing the worth of other gamblers in your "community".
So get real here when you throw around these stupid allegations. Know what you're talking about, and realize you're saying this stuff as cowardly anonymous fools.
Actually Rob I have just a pension plan and social security. But pensions are far superior to 401ks because pensions don't run out.
The photographers, video editors that I used to work with only started 401ks about 15 years ago. Even with company "matches" they'll be lucky if they put away $300,000. Now, imagine drawing $30,000 a year as a retiree. Yes, you can easily outlive your 401k.
My own brother who works as a magazine editor and sales director for trade magazines even with a nearly million dollar 401k is worried and he's 60 and is now facing a drop in income due to a change in his industry.
401ks are not the answer.
I've been an active union member since I was 20 years old and I've always supported and advocated pensions. 401ks were created by Congress to let businesses shrug off their responsibilities to workers.
Really, you didn't read the thread(s)?
Last March Jason started things off by posting the following:
"Anyone see Alan Mendelson gambling in Vegas recently?
What was he playing?
How much in front of him or loaded in the machine?"
see link to thread: https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...1006#post61006
Jason, aka SLaPINFuNK, went on to post about how he'd done some work at alan's request for his father's BestBuys business and that his dad hadn't paid him for the work he'd done.
Not a lot of money involved: about five grand or so IIRC.
Alan admitted owing money to his son.
It was all very dramatic and emotional and at their request Dan Druff soon deleted the more embarrassing portions of the expose'.
The implication was that Jason posted on this board because he felt his father had issues wherein alan's gambling activities interfered with his effectiveness / ability to pay his debts in the real world.
The whole thing was quite weird, frankly: what started out as a seemingly public shaming has resulted in them appearing to bury the hatchet and continue as if the whole thing never happened.
PM alan for the salacious details if you're curious.
Binion's still uses traditional "cash back." I got a voucher at the players club desk then took the voucher to the casino cage for $.
Read FAB's post again. He had to go an extra step by having to go to the club booth.
It's funny. Nevada, Vegas in particular, is where you usually see new games/technology first. But it seems they're way behind the times when it comes to getting cash back from slot/VP play.
Jbjb I think both methods have the same number of steps:
Method A
1. Download free play on machine
2. Take ticket to cage or redemption machine
Method B
1. Get voucher from players club
2. Take voucher to cage
I just don't know if you can cash out free play from machines at Red Rock or if it gets returned to your account? I never tried it.
Stations does the “reimbursement” freeplay thing, where after you play, it reimburses you the amount you played. If you just cash out, you’ll end up with however much cash you had in the machine.
The only place I can think of off the top of my head where you can just cash out freeplay is places like Dotty’s or gambler’s bonus. I don’t think they’re even considered to be freeplay.
Somewhat sensible post Rob, but you had to throw your bias in at the end. V is who he is, someone who enjoys the drama and pushes it, in my opinion. Which is about worthless because I never met the man.
But he is right about the Alan stuff. If it is only $5k, what kind of person wouldn’t pay his own kid? He obviously has money to gamble and is a degenerate. There is not one poster on here who is a worse addict than Alan. Not sure how anyone could or would argue that.
Let’s face it, you throw shit out there and never reply when proven wrong. Mickey figuratively shoved his cock down your throat the other day on the play he posted. He showed the details, math and W2G. And what did we get from you? Nothing.
I know Alan has defended you time and time again but anyone who looks at objectivity sees him for being the deadbeat dad he is. And would admit he should go for help with his gambling.
While I know you don’t give a fuck what others think on here about you and already have your opinion on them, perhaps we all should find a way to push for Alan to get the help he needs. Let him spend his last dollar at a casino, his right, but only after he pays his son. It just makes Dan look worse allowing him to spread his garbage here knowing he is an addict who screwed another poster here.
Boz, I honestly haven't seen what you're saying mickey posted. You mean he had a $1200+ hit and posted the w2g clearly identifying his real name? Or did he redact it and still claim it was his hit?
I now know the entire issue between Alan and his son, and just as I guessed, there's a very key part missing from public view that would stop all the criticism if it were also known. But that stuff is in that family and no one else should be throwing out blinded criticisms. I believe Jason was wrong for mentioning it here, knowing only half the story would be told. It's best not brought up any more here. Let them work it out.
MisterV and others. Don't call me a deadbeat Dad over $5,000. The correct figure is $40,000. And that's all I'm going to say about it.
https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...its-quot/page4
Just to refresh your memory. You called Mick out on this and he followed up. No reply from you. Hard to say he was talking out his ass on this one.
I finally located it. You call that a verifiable hit by the poster? If I ever put up a 95% redacted form like that the forum would be all over me. And the name etc. that we DO see could have been added in, or the entire form could have easily been doctored up from another one or someone else's given the amount of blackouts.
I read where the genius posted a half-assed blackout photo. How about putting that one up again so it means something.
Either way, one hit does not a success make. If this was real, he only posted it because he knew how badly a hit his perceived reputation has taken since I've taken him to task. The same happened to redietz, only he still hasn't recovered.
So that justifies you still gambling? I would like to believe there is not a poster on here, Vegas local or across the country, who wouldn’t drive you to a GA meeting. Regardless of all the shit on here, most would help you if you asked. But let’s face it, you don’t want help. Far easier to keep sucking on the pipe and dreaming of a $20k Royal. That we all know you would lose back over time. Only question is would you give your son a taste of it?
And until I hear otherwise you are a Deadbeat Dad. Why call you anything else?
Yea it’s as real as the the claims against Kavanaugh are liberal BS. If anything Mick is guilty of sharing too much and too many hits like this. Believe it or don’t, but the math was there, is there and will be there. But I know you are more of a luck and hunch guy then a math guy. And it seems to have worked out for you.
But will never get why you expect others to believe your “luck”, while ridiculing others math and hard work in finding ways to benefit from it.
The wormm already made it clear that he would seed or front-load machines
in order to make it look like he could win on his plays.
That's probably what he did here, he played and lost until the meter was
within his playable range, then played it off until the "must hit by" did hit.
We don't really know when the wormm sat down at that machine,
and we really don't know how much he won or lost on the "play".
We only know what he wrote, and earlier he wrote about how low he would go
in order to make himself look like a winner, because that's what he needs,
to look like a winner to a bunch of folks he doesn't even know.
Because he would intentionally lose money to make a post that proves his point to people who would question it anyways?
Honestly how fucking stupid are you Coach? I’ll play, why would he do that with nothing to gain? So Mick has enough money to waste to prove a point with nothing to gain financially?
Would love to know why you are so bitter. It’s obvious from your posts on AC TripAdvisor you are a long time losing ploppy, but it doesn’t explain your bitterness toward winning players and your support for Rob’s systems.
Hopefully you haven’t lost everything like Alan from gambling. If so, there is help out there if you want it.
Time for me to once again recommend "Addiction By Design" by anthropologist Natasha Schull. It's the best book of its kind, in my opinion. Mr. Mendelson, coach, Argentino, it's probably a good investment. It may not help you change your behaviors, but it'll explain how those behaviors are being generated and manipulated by casino environments.

Are you saying this long term (2011) losing gambler isn’t you?
Maybe members here have been playing a joke on you for 7 years portraying a losing gambler. Or maybe it’s just a coincidence this loser has the same name as you.
Probably nothing to see here, move along.
Rob, you are the one that brought the term "redacted W2G" to this forum. You started demanding "redacted W2G's." Now they are not acceptable to you. How did I know that would happen?
If I hadn't been quickly warned you would have gotten my full name, street address and Social Security number. You seen jbjb's post right after mine with the W2G. I had made just one swipe with the magic marker. When jbjb warned me I quickly removed the photo. I went to documents and blew up the pic. I could see clearly through the blackout and read my name, address and social security number. You could have done the same thing. Lucky for me I got warned so fast. You don't have that much time to edit a post now. It would have been up there until I could contact Dan and have him remove it. And that would have been way to late.
What's the big deal if someone sees your info or not? It's not as if an identity theft would ruin you or cause havoc for your kids in college or mess up your platinum AMEX card.
There's redacted....and there's REDACTED. And there's only one reason someone like you would produce such a heavily blacked out document: because you're FAKING it. What's the mystery about where this thing was hit, and why are you so afraid of putting your real name out there?
I smell a rat. If it's real, why wouldn't you post both the jackpot pic and the tax form in the same post? Needed some time to "touch one up" perhaps?
Rob, I posted the photo included here on twitter of the exact same machine I played when the number was moving up to close to playable. This was several days before I played it off and the number was on $4848. There were people on twitter that, having never been to this casino, were able to determine my location from the photograph. I've cleared the area so let's see if you can do it, or anyone else here is welcome to try and post their findings.
Prozema, also on twitter, was quickly able to figure it out.
Arizona Charlie's mails cash vouchers. You just take the voucher to the cage and get cash every week. Kind of stupid if you ask me, on their part. You don't even have to play. Guess they don't care if you play or not. Of course, I hate waiting in line for anything so I don't play there.
Crazy I didn't see the replies today and I called Alan today to see that he was OK and taking care of himself. Didn't mention any of this...
Anyway... yeah I probably should not have posted that but I figured someone here would have seen him playing and save me a trip to Vegas to find him myself.
One thing I'll say to the bloke who mentioned the thing about posting the w2g and deleting it. Once an image is uploaded it can be found... spiders scan sites and download everything... you can look at history on the internet on specific dates etc...
Alan has shared a lot with me. He once agreed to give me half a royal if he hit if I would take him to rincon. He hit, paid up. I loaned it back to him that night and he repaid me when his check cleared. We had a lot of good times gambling together and playing poker tournaments together. However it has been years since we have had any kind of gambling outing.
Why don't you stop with the nonsense? Nobody continually makes crap up like you do. It's all Argentino projection.
1) A few years back, you claimed you'd have a letter and columns published in Gaming Today again. Never happened.
2) Recently, you said Gaming Today was having an ownership change and you'd be back there again. Really? Not going to happen. GT is a fun tabloid with at least one gay columnist, a couple of AP columnists, and it promotes Las Vegas. Do you really think they are going to have you as a columnist after they read what you've posted on this forum about Las Vegas, gays, Asians, and so on?
3) The G2E ridiculousness. You were going to chair a roundtable, only it turned into a meeting in a hotel room. And no mention of you in the conference literature or on the website. Yeah, of course it happened.
4) Your tax history nonsense. Zero chance it's true.
5) Your reneging on sending in your tax returns when arci did.
6) Trying to sucker people into bets on how many sessions you can win, when session wins percentage is meaningless (unless you're betting on session win percentage).
7) Claiming that you'll run an AP Challenge in the Review Journal. Yeah, that'll be fun. Still waiting on that. What's the holdup?
C'mon, man. Telepathy with the machines. Special luck. Playing non-optimal video poker on purpose, and then claiming you can outperform optimal play going forward by playing sub-optimally. This stuff is comical. I hope your kids and grandkids don't actually read your posts here.
In the first photo you can see the blue neon in the upper left where I have my mouse pointer. The 2nd photo is blown up 150%. You can see it says The River bar & grill. Google it and it will say it's in Choctaw Casino in Grant, Oklahoma. That's how people on twitter found where I was located.
I don't like being located. KJ knows why. You can get robbed putting up to much information about your whereabouts online. I'm now trying to be more careful with the photos I put up.
mickey, you're such a funny guy. You try to come across as this rough & tough internet character/gambler, yet you always seem to be afraid of your own shadow. Scared of being "robbed"? Really? In Nowhere Oklahoma?? They gonna scalp you too?:) All this cloak & dagger stuff surrounding your two-bit gambling addiction....you create your own drama because, well, I guess that's about all you have in life. But don't get so riled up about these things.
And the other part....you KNEW I was gonna punk you about any w2g I forced you to post. It's part of the fun! You're making it out to be like I gut-punched you in that soft belly of yours, then popped you with a clean uppercut while catching your breath. Just look at what I do to redietz and you'll feel a little better. You turn into him and you'll be talking to yourself about me too.
Singer is ruining another thread with a perfectly good subject to discuss. He should be banned from this thread as well. The only way Singer can be reigned in is to ban him out of the legitimate threads. He will shit on any thread he can.
Boz very quietly did people a favor by connecting the dots.
Coach has an interesting routine here. He has 1500 posts, almost none of which discuss his gambling or any expertise on his part. Most of his posts are about applying "gotchas" to anything APs say. Now I have a limited imagination, so I can think of just two theories why he would devote almost all of 1500 posts to this.
The first theory is that he is trying to protect forum readers from the faulty strategies and errant tales of APs so readers don't fall for the tall tales. But if this were his raison d'etre, one would think he would occasionally look askance at "Singer," with the many holes in the Singer mythology ripe for gotchas. Coach, however, doesn't really do that. And coach isn't much into research, either, unless it's a 20-second google scan, so he's hasn't exactly graced us with probability insights.
The second theory is that coach is a heavy and continual gambling loser, probably addicted, and he just doesn't want to feel as if (1) his losses were avoidable, (2) other folks are smarter than him, or (3) he's addicted to something that damages his family's resources.
I think the second theory is likely correct, but as I said, I have a limited imagination, so perhaps coach could offer further rationales for his postings here.
Wow, I just thought of something regarding coach. It applies to Mr. Mendelson, too. And Argentino, really. I have to thank Boz and especially arci who, in absentia, still contributes.
Mr. Mendelson has really been playing gotcha all this time, for years, also. First, back when he was playing higher stakes, he would turn up his nose at the low stakes players, who weren't "really gambling." Then we have the blurry photography gotcha attempt, and debates about 401Ks as if having 401Ks and gambling stupidly is somehow superior to not having them and gambling intelligently.
All of these are gotcha attempts. "Your way of gambling is wrong." Gotcha! "Your way of living, even if your gambling is better, is inferior." Gotcha! "Mr. V has 'two-bit' cases." Gotcha! They are all gotcha attempts.
And Argentino, trying to claim mickey's W2G is fake, or I'm not me, or "you're anonymous, so you're wrong" stuff is all gotcha-driven.
These people spend their lives trying to come up with rationales for their behaviors in casinos. They really need to try to undermine others' successes. The fact they post their gotchas in public isn't really the gist of this. They are using the gotchas in their own minds so they don't have to examine and process the fact that other people have won and have the discipline to walk away when expectations are negative.
That's why you have these obsessive voila-driven moments of Mr. Mendelson driving to a blackjack table to take blurry photos. Or coach latching onto the most trivial details to generate illogical arguments, as in Don Johnson supposedly not using his rebate opportunities much one weekend, so that undermines the entire AP angle. Or Argentino just making stuff up. A presumed AP had an academic paper published, so Argentino says he's heading a roundtable at G2E. Only it doesn't happen.
All gotchas in their own minds, to keep the hounds of reality at bay. Twisting minutia, seeking any conflict of detail, so they don't have to accept that there were other options to the paths they've chosen.
It's no surprise they are dominant posters in this forum. They are the most motivated.
Aside from being what has to be the internet's most corny writer, this guy just OOZES chaotic struggle within.
Any question now why she closed her eyes for the last time with a smile on her face?
Luckily there is not that much real harm done by you anti-AP, anti-Mathematic angry trolls. There is nobody out side of you 4 that believes anything you clowns say, evidently including your own family members. So you find an instance where some legitimate player has misspoken or said something that you can twist around, or some kind of blurry picture that you can manipulate and you guys are in your glory, high-fiving and slapping each other on the back. You are four mental patients, that the rest of the world and gambling community just laughs at and says "what the fuck".
The only real damage you have done is to Dan Druff (Todd Whittles) reputation and credibility and any chance of this site to grow into something productive and beneficial to anyone.
KJ: I don't even know what these guys are talking about most of the time. But man, in the words of Richard Pryor, Mickey, Singer, and Coach Bella are funny mutha F****rs. "Computer day at the funny farm." That's classic. Mickeys "don't let your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird ass." Hil-friggin-arious. Singer has some zingers as well.
At the Zoo. "Hey Lion, have some of dis."
There is some great stuff here. It's a matter of perspective. Of course, if you're bored, we could have a count debate.
What the fuck Dan Druff? Did you just delete a post of mine criticizing the 4 anti-AP, anti-Math haters and you for enabling and protecting them?
I know I have threatened to leave numerous times, only to backtrack, because I have limited options, but I will not participate on a site where the owner is doing this shit. I have done that and been there. No wonder you have made yourself sick Dan Druff. You are protecting known internet trolls and throwing your reputation as a legitimate player grounded in math, down the toilet.
We've got a local character from Oklahoma. Quite often, he'll tip a few too many and be hollering "ride the hair off that horse." Anyway, as he tells the story. His Mom is a full blooded Cherokee indian and his Dad is white. She says to him "all my sons stay in valley, but you go over hill" as she points in a far off direction. It's funny the way he tells it because he is really over-the-top. 17 to 1 "thank youuuu veeeery much." Thus the nickname "17."
KJ. KJ. KJ. have a Snickers! You get a little cross without it. lol Seriously, the last thing we need is another BJTF. No? Hence, computer day at the funny farm.
Dan Druff could run through the streets naked and bark at the moon. He'd still be head and shoulders above the Norm. Ha. Get it?
That's a tough one Alex. Let's go with "Who are Horseman for $300."
