Ilani: Trip report

Went to that den of iniquity Ilani last night, to the "Land That Hope Forgot."

The traffic on the freeways was much heavier than usual, but then it's a holiday weekend.

The casino parking lots had more cars than usual: while not packed the shithole was busier than usual.

I didn't stay too long.

Walked past the baccarat pit, got free coffee then angled off to the one dollar non-Mega Meltdown bank of machines i often start my play at.

Ouch...down about fifty: no respins, no decent hits at all, and fuck me but "No joy."

Bah.

Chastened, I slithered off to the bank of five dollar non-Mega Meltdown slots located just outside of the High Limit room.

Only played a couple minutes; up, down, then *bam*...oh my... I hit three triple bars on a fifteen dollar bet.

Ka-ching.

Cashed out, wandered over into the high limit room to see what's new, and there is something interesting: a bank of I believe four three-reel Wheel of Fortune $25 machines: Intriguing, but I stiffened my backbone and exited that abattoir and sashayed to the food court where I redeemed my food comp for two nice sized chopped salads at Italia.

I'll eat one for lunch today.

+$680.00 for the day.

I love French Imprssionist paintings; I have two Renoirs (copies, alas) in the bedroom and one Seurat.

The one I posted above is Luncheon of the Boating Party; my favorite, which happens to be at the Boston Art Museum, is Dance at Bougival.

The Seurat is A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

Indeed it is.

But from what I've read the RTP at tribal joints in Wa and Or is similar, although the way their slots work differs.

There is a big difference between new bills and fake "prop money". The picture is low resolution, but there is no reason to believe any of this money is fake. Yes, the 100's in the front of the mountain of bills looks much lighter compared to the pre 2013 bills behind them.

Since there is such a large amount of the older hundreds (pre 2013), this picture was most likely taken in 2013 or 2014 and the bills hadn't been in circulation long enough to get very beat up. This would also explain the ratio of pre 2013's to post 2013 bills. If you look down the center of the stacks you can see a darker section which indicates usage. Even if the bills were brand new, straight from the mint, in numerical order, that doesn't mean they are fake.

Wasn't that stash of cash found after a drug raid in a different country?

What are you guys looking at? I see Mexican peso notes in the front.

I originally viewed the picture on a cell phone, the photo being very small and low resolution, they appeared to be the newer "blue line" hundreds. Looking at them closer now, after your comment - They aren't even American currency!

Like you say, likely Pesos...

That also likely means that this picture is much older than 2013. I remember seeing this picture along time ago. It wouldnt surprise me if it was 15+ years or more ago.

Rob, the money in your safe was laughably fake. It wasn't even fair quality. The same as the Video Poker Jackpot picture and the actual claim itself.

Probably because I unbanded them when we got to my teammates house and did it this way numbnuts! I prefer my hundos in stacks of $1000 with each other one facing the opposite way. So again, STFU and GFY!

For the record, I don't trust stacks just because they are "banded". I like to count my money. I also don't like the old bills. I trade those for the newer ones. I also purposely wanted to spread it out here. Plus it looks prettier! :D

For about ten years now I've saved any of the older style fives, tens, fifities and hundreds and put them in a safe deposit box "for my heirs," just because.

Having unfinished business, I went to Ilani tonight for some Meltdown.

Started at a Mega machine in the high limit room; got up fifty bucks, and cashed out.

Per plan, I then went to play fifty a spin on one of their 5X Pay Wheel of Fortune machines.

Zip.

I fed it another two hundred:nada.

Ouch, down two hundred.

Left the High Limit room and then sat at my favorite five dollar machine out hear the entrance to High Limit.

Put in my last hundred, got down to fifty then caught some nice reels with several meltdowns / respins.

Cashed out, then used my ten dollar free play in one of the dollar machines over near the cashier: won eight bucks.

Total for trip: +$118.00 plus a free Cobb salad.

I accomplished my main goal: I took some (5) shots at the brass ring.

No luck this time, but maybe next time...

The statistically very weird thing about the supposed big win is that it comes at the end(?) of Jbjb's involvement here, as if it's all the money he has, to try to convince us of his own idiotic posts over the last couple of decades or so. Ha.

After dinner at my "go to" Chinese restaurant, I played slots at Chinook Winds.

First session...bye bye $200; went to my room, chilled, did crosswords, returned with another $200.

Played Double Diamond Deluxe: I put in $100 and cashed out $250, put it in the wallet.

Put in my other $100 bill: up, down, got to $50 left on it and as is my wont I "took a shot" and made a $50 bet...ka-ching.

Single bar, Double Diamond, single bar, for a grand.

I decided "No mas" and returned to the room and didn't gamble any more.

+$710 for the trip.

Aside from that, the go nowhere/do nothings on here might want to consider a vacation at the new Trump Resort and Golf Club, opening Jan. 2029 on the shores of Gaza. Anybody been there? Of course not---but I have. And its beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world.

Why are you compelled to try to impress people with what I can only assume you believe to be your "wealth and power?"

Most of us who have "actually made it in life" are content to quietly count our blessings as opposed to blowing trumpets to glorify ourselves.

It is becoming increasingly likely that I will be induced to give up slot play int the relatively near future, which disappoints me.

I play only the old school three reel games like Double Diamond, and they are increasingly more difficult to find on the casino floor, especially the higher limit, multi-denomination games I favor.

Talking to a slot tech at Chinook Winds, the onl casino still offering the games I play, I was glad to learn that they are committed to keeping them in service, but I fear the dearth of parts and support from IGT will result in them failing and being removed due to lack of ability to repair.

I loathe the newer games with their bright lights and curved screens.

Yeah, I' a Luddite.

Caught a whiff of good luck at CW last night.

I typically stay in a comped oceanfront room (view or beach, rocks and ocean to die for) and break my bankroll into two hundred dollar sessions, typically having fiver or so foray to the casino each trip.

Down over five hundred, on Double Diamond Deluxe I hit double diamond, triple bar, double diamond on a twenty-five dollar bet.

$4000: ka-ching...paid $600 estimated taxes, brought home the remainder.

So long as I get the occasional win like this I am happy.
