One of Alan Mendelson's sickest runs!

This was long before people were taking photos of things and posting them anywhere... It must have been 2006 or 2007...

He got a promotional CD-Rom in the mail for an online casino... The name I couldn't tell you... The CD included a welcome offer of 7x7x7 of free-play 7x7x7 = $343... He installed the CD and played, was playing Video Poker with his favorite game "Super Aces Bonus" where any 4-Aces paid 2000 credits (no kicker needed). He was playing on dollars to start and poof, hit 4-Aces for $2000...



So now he has $2000+ on the site... He called them to see if he could cash out, and the person said he needed to play through $XX,XXX before he could cash out... He said that would never happen so just proceeded to play... he switched to $5 denom and he played and played and played... He proceeded to hit multiple 4-Aces for $10,000 and even a royal for $20,000! He ended up cashing out $47,000... We were not sure he would actually get the money but sure enough, a few days later it hit his account!

The next day he got a call from the online casino executive to congratulate him on his run and asked about doing an interview with him. He agreed, it was published online I couldn't tell you the name of the casino and the photo is too blurry to make it out... He proceeded to tell the story about how he called and the person said he would need to play through $XX,XXX before he could cash out, and the casino exec said "you were informed the amount in error it was actually much less" or something along those lines...

This was one of the few and only times he played any online casino game and it certainly paid out!

He was a financial reporter. I believe that photo was at the federal reserve when he was talking about new bills or something. I don't remember, I wish I did.

It was really funny when we were in Vegas. He had a nationally recognized voice. We were playing craps and this guy at the other end of the table said "Hey you sound like Alan Mendelson" and my dad said "I am" and the guy said, "No your not, Alan Mendelson tells us not to gamble." Was one of the funniest things...

There is nothing in Alan Mendelson's past that would lead anyone to believe that he lies or exaggerates, while on the other hand UNKewlJ is a proven and admitted liar.

Therefore, UNKewlJ had no standing to question Alan's claim of 18 yo's in a row.

I don't recognize the casino logo, but it looks like he made good choices because I believe the software provider (Microgaming) was known to intervene in the event of a cashout dispute, and the software had an excellent reputation for fairness. The Super Aces knockoff was the highest EV video poker option at 99.9%.

Cashing out ANY amount from a free play offer is advantage play, much less $47,000. Your father never shared much if anything that he did playing with an advantage. So based on this account, at least in this instance, I can say: The late Alan Mendelson, advantage player. :)

Alan posted in a way to get people to just give up information to “prove” him wrong. It’s understandable that you would miss this given your demeanor. He did this to me as well on one occasion over at WOV. I believe He understood VP advantage play, and mail very well based on my private communication with him there.

Alan enjoyed arguing about gambling and he had opinions which he held on to regardless of any counter-argument / offer of proof.

I've oft felt he made up the eighteen yo's in a row claim just to be provocative.

That was one of the things that annoyed me about Alan. The one thing I did get a kick out of though was seeing him hitting on the ladies at the Red Rock slot machines by the craps table he spent so much time at. Back then I was in and out of Red Rock frequently and would have to say I have seen him flirting with the ladies at least 4 times. Overall you can tell he was a decent guy even though he could be annoying.

He was a decent looking guy and famous in So Cal; it wouldn't surprise me is he was a successful pussy-hound.

It's a bad pic, but if you look carefully, the foak - 2, 3, 4's pay 500 (not the usual 400). On WOO it is 99.9%

I think part of KJ's game is to "troll the trolls."

Microgaming had perfect auto play, but individual operators could disable it on specific games or generally. Here's what it looks like with auto play enabled. This was a 99.37% Deuces Wild game. 32 Red was and still is one of the major operators.



I'm not quite up to Alan's standard of risk taking.
