But here's the thing, Bob and many others are dealing with live dealer random events. Machine RNGs are made by human beings, given the right circumstances they are solvable. So it's conceivable that someone might actually believe they have figured out something in order to Beat It. I actually do believe Rob believes that he knows something about beating video poker, I don't believe he's making that up. I'm not saying I believe it's possible, but I believe he actually believes.
Case in point, I became good friends with a very smart individual who's the author of many gaming books, he's semi-known, he knows and understands Advantage Play, he knows and understands math and randomness, he's done interviews, and videos, has been on the news worked for casinos etc, etc, had access and information to certain people at IGT.
To this day(well, it's been a long while since last we talked) swears there are certain numbers that come up more often in Keno machines. He adamantly claims he is significantly ahead playing Keno. I have no doubt he's ahead playing Keno, however, I believe the number of spots he is playing could easily put someone ahead lifetime by just running very good.
At some point, he and I were discussing this, and of course, I was saying this doesn't seem likely or even possible, it's just variance. Soon after that he took me over to a couple of machines(not IGT) and showed me something by swiping the screen in a special way the cards that were behind the other cards that would have come out had you held different cards. There was no way to take advantage of this information because it was after the fact. The fact is, he showed me something on a machine that nobody else I knew of knew. He didn't really care if I believed him, he wasn't encouraging me to play it was just something we discussed as I knew him to have an understanding of math, Advantage Play, and value, yet he played keno frequently.
I don't think he would mind me mentioning his name and this story, but I would like to confirm prior to doing so. I'm sure someone can guess. I probably mentioned it before somewhere.
