I have also read firsthand reports on Facebook from people who were laid off.
Resorts World has had all kinds of problems since opening. These include:
- The nightclub and other features were not ready when it opened in June 2021, and many people found the place to be boring with not much to do.
- The area of town is too far from the strip, and not a great neighborhood. Many do not feel comfortable walking from there to center strip.
- There are too many hotel rooms to fill, and the operational costs are too high.
- They have not been particularly welcoming to locals.
- Former CEO Scott Sibella was very shady, and ended up quitting due to a federal investigation. He was even indirectly tied to the bookie taking bets from Shohei Ohtani's assistant.
- They recently paid a record fine due to Sibella's actions, which created bad press for them.
Basically the place has been a fail, just like nearby Fontainebleau.
