I recall studying in psychopharmacology that they dumped chromosomes into pure liquid LSD, and, guess what! the chromosomes broke apart. So then some started claiming that LSD destroyed chromosomes.

Similarly, if you dumped coronavirus into pure ammonia or ethanol (or hydroxychloroquine) I assume it would put the virus to sleep (you can't really "kill" a virus as it is not alive to begin with, you just stop it from replicating). Doesn't mean we should start drinking heavily or imbibing ammonia (or poisoning ourselves with hydroxychloroquine).

Just common sense.
